About us: Because of our love for Scotland and because we were willing to offer our guests something really special, we had the idea to start something quite different to the normal Bavarian “Pension” (B&B), to run the first Scottish Bed and Breakfast of the Bavarian Forrest. Location: Our Guesthouse is situated in a quiet residential area of Mauth. In just a minutes walk you are in the centre of Mauth with its shops, café and restaurants. Around Mauth the Bavarian Forest offers many opportunities to visit and to do. Enjoy sightseeing and shopping in Freyung, Grafenau and Passau. Or visit Nuernberg or Munich within a two hours drive. Austria and the Czech Republic are also just a few kilometers away, welcome in the Dreilaendereck (the geographical triangle of Bavaria, Austria and Czech Republic). Accommodation: The Scottish-Highlander-Guesthouse has been lovingly furnished and decorated with many original Scottish details. Today we can offer you eleven Double Bedrooms and two Family Rooms, all “En suite” (toilet, washbasin and shower facilities), in modern Bavarian quality and in Scottish flair. Each room is equipped with a big double bed (the Family Rooms with an extra bunk bed), two comfortable armchairs, a table, tea/coffee making facilities, a digital colour satelite-TV and a guest&tourist information folder. A travel cot, high chair, iron and ironing board are all available on request. All the rooms have free wireless internet access (WiFi). Friendly family-dogs are very welcome. By the way: Besides the bank-holiday-weeks we do not have any minimum duration, so short stay guests or transients are very welcome for us as well. Food offers: Get spoiled by a rich breakfast. Please decide yourself if you fancy a classic german breakfast (continental breakfast) which is included in the rates or if you want a full cooked Scottish Breakfast with some extra charge. Further during the day you can get drinks, snacks and small meals. Occasional barbecues and evening meals are also available.
