First and foremost know that this isn't some super luxury hotel with all of your creature comforts, but, if you enjoy straying off the beaten path, absolutely love being immersed in nature and want to stay somewhere for almost nothing. You have to check this spot out!
The amenities weren't the fanciest, the food was decent and the hot water ran out the first time I showered, but these things didn't really bother me. 1. I paid $9 a night, NINE DOLLARS! I knew going in I wasn't staying at the Ritz-Carlton, but I still got my own private little bungalow/villa which was ridiculous. 2. Food was okay, but I am guessing it was a Sri Lankan interpretation of what a westerner would find appetizing? I wish they just served straight local dishes. All in all, the food was hot and tasty, but nothing I'd write home about. 3. Yes the hot water went out once, but the weather was blazing hot. I don't even know why I was trying to use the hot water, just habit I guess. I didn't even use the hot water after my first shower there. Cool showers were much more appropriate and super relaxing after a long day around town.
The hotel is in the middle of the jungle.. so in the morning have amazing views!! The staff was REALLY friendly and helpful! Really clean!
It was a really amazing location, waking up surrounded by monkeys, squirrels and other wild animals was an ultimate experience. The owner was very nice and trying to help all the time during our stage
Unfortunately traveling with kids, there are minimum services to be covered, that we didn't received, like electricity, internet connection, and overall water (the water was coming very dirty), cleanliness in the bedroom and bathroom, ... . We also expected to have there other families so kids can hang around, but it was obviously not a family facility
Place was calm & quite
Such a calm and quiet lovely place to stay. Loved the Sri Lankan food as well as the western. Kind staff and the balcony rooms were kind of Romantic. Would recommend for travelers around the world. I guess foreigners will enjoy the Nature and the food a lot
