We enjoyed the fact that it was right in the center of town.
I liked how it well it was preserved complete with its historic story, and great pictures. The elevator was terrific and I loved the stained glass in the lobby.
Value Not as clean as should be expected. Hairs in the bathtub, and not talking about the long hairs one finds on one's head
Breakfast was very good Walls a little thin
Close to fairgrounds and easy access to freeway. Breakfast wasn't tasty in my opinion.
I new it was an older hotel so had some reservations before arriving, but the folks there have done a very nice job of keeping it up new paint new carpets comfortable bed flat screen tv a little road noise but ok. No amenitys just a good place to lay your head at the end of a long day.
A simple budget hotel, but good value. I was pleasantly surprised by the room itself - crown molding, nice television, convenient to town. And clean! The staff was very friendly - really for what I wanted, it couldn't have been better. Hey, it's no JW, but it certainly serves the needs at a great price! I would stay there again. No electronic lock - not much of a negative there though. Coffee maker didn't work, and I forgot to tell the management, so if you happen to stay in room 18 - fair warning!
Room was cold, noisy, smelled like urine.
Reservation through has disclaimer it is non-refundable. I requested a ground floor room through Kayak, called National 9 on the morning of reservation date to notify I would be checking in late and confirm reservation. I was told I would have a ground floor the first night but not the second. When I arrived all ground floor rooms were full so I had to take a second floor. Was offered a ground floor second night and staff woul move luggage down. Needs better communication through Kayak and staff.
Good value Great location Friendly Staff
Great value for the money. It looked old but it has been upgraded to serve the budget traveler. There is wifi, extra outlets, refrigerator, coffee maker, adequate TV, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, nice pool. I wouldn't send a friend who thinks resort. I send anyone who wants a budget stay on the way through Placerville. It was right next to Hwy 50 but our room was quiet.
There was nothing we liked about the motel. It was dirty, sleazy, noisy, uncomfortable, smelled of smoke, the pool was ice cold.
Water for the showers never got hot!
They gave us a choice of two rooms The owner was very nice The room was ok next to the office Not many guest's The gap under the door very cold draft Freeway noise all night and the noise from the ice machine.had to close the bathroom door due to the cold.they were in the middle of renovations
I had to go out & buy hangers for my clothes. There was no closet, so I had to hang my clothes on the shower curtain rod.
Just an hour away from Tahoe Room was freezing cold but heater warmed up in no time.
The room was clean, neat and spacious. I appreciated the available appliances--frig, microwave, coffee pot, iron/board. I also took advantage of the continnential breakfast. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. While the workout room was well-equipped from machinery to towels and water, I was disappointed in not be able to determine how to operate the treadmill. There was no instructions from either the manufacturer or the hotel, and regardless of what I tried, I couldn't get it to operated.
