Very friendly and helpful. Clean comfortable. Good location. The restaurant was mediocre. I wanted a sirloin but they were out so I had to order a more expensive steak.
Location. The place is so old and dilapidated and in serious need of an update. The hallway smelled like sour, dirty feet and the room smelled like wet dog wearing hooker perfume! I'm not joking here. We could hear every bit of conversation from the bikers below us. We honestly checked the bed for bugs. With such a great location on the waterfront and the place at capacity I'm sure you could organize a remodel! Maybe do a section at a time. Honestly the place is horrible. We left ASAP in the morning.
Comfy beds, close to everything, reasonable prices Was in the middle of renovation, not intrusive and expect good thing for my next visit
Bed was soft and comfortable. Staff was nice. 24 hour desk. Great downtown location. Large room. Upon walking into any hotel room I take a washcloth with warm water and wipe the bathroom floor. This tells me just how well the housekeeping standards are. Walking to get the washcloth the floor was sticky. And as expected the white cloth turned dark brown with dirt, hair, and other filth. There is a heavy layer of dust on the bathroom vent, light fixtures and the track of the closet doors. All of the hanging fixtures in the buildings 3 lobbies uas dust and dusty spider webs. The old toilet has a tank tilted 15 degrees to the right and every 20 minutes it would run. When the water runs its very loud. I had to stuff my ears with the cheap rough tissue. The doors no longer close completely and have large gaps under them. Therefore, you can hear everything in the hallway; housekeeping yelling to one another (one of them was constantly yelling for Justin, very sick, coughing like crazy.. Like I would want to sleep in one of the rooms she was cleaning), doors slamming and rattling, people talking quietly, and a TV across the hall. To top it off, in my case, the noisy family next door in the adjoining room who woke me up several times starting at 5:30am. These doors pose a serious safty issue in the event of a fire. All of the rooms would fill with smoke because of they no longer seal properly. These doors are designed for fire safty. However, because these doors are not sealed properly the fire and smoke will enter the rooms around the doors. The door hardware is at least 30 years old and failing. The handle on the inside was very loose and warn out. As is the brass finish. The property does not feature an indoor pool or espresso cafe as stated online and in the room. When I check in I told the front desk clerk I needed a late checkout at 12:30 because I was there for my dad's funeral and needed the extra time to prepare. Just before noon the sick housekeeper came to my door stating I was supposed to checkout at 11. I informed her of my needs. She apologized. The iron was full of deposits which stained my shirt. The old tub didn't have any sort of non-slip coating, nor was there a mat to use. As a result I ended up falling and huring my knee once the soaped up. I had no time to hang around to complain or ice my knee.... I had to find a place to buy a new shirt and get to the funeral at IBC by 1 pm. All in all.. This hotel is a great candidate for a gut renovation or tear down and build new. This used to be the best hotel in Clallam County. They way the main building is designed with three separate sections joined by large lobbies, it would be very smart to close off two sections in the pff season to gut renovation or tear down (adding underground parking to turn the current parking area into a beautiful resort style courtyard with pools, spa, snack bar......). This is a large and prime piece of waterfront properly that is under utilized and on its way to closing if not rehabed or rebuilt.
The room was really clean, and the bed extremely comfortable. I swear when I booked the hotel that breakfast was included... yet when I got my print out... it said it wasn't. That was a bummer.
Room smelled musty!
Relatively good value. Breakfast was included for moderate price Pillows were weirdly shaped (square, and quite hard)
It was a great room for a last minute trip. It is located in the heart of Port Angeles, and is walking distance to great restaurants and shops.
The location with a harbor-front view is exceptional.
Clean and comfortable and great place to stay for the bike race! No complaints
Rooms were great very comfortable stay, staff was friendly and very helpful. The pool and hotub was fabulous . One of the great amenties was the free parking for the ferry (eventhough one of the was down for maintenance) make sure you are aware of this if you intend on using the ferry. For the price the breakfast could have been included. Instead they have this 10 and up dollars breakfast restaurant. Overall there are not too many negative things to say about this property. See for yourself.
Very comfy bed It's basically like a Best Western and a nice lodge hotel had a baby. It's nothing special, but it's comfortable, clean and does the job.
Very nice rooms, amazingly helpful staff, beautiful lobby
Welcoming lodge fireplace, and seating area. Complementary soup and cookies. Modern upscale. Spacious room and bathroom. Wasn't warm enough for me to brave the walk to the outdoor pool and hot tub... But both were well-lit, and inviting.
The location was good, as it was close to the Olympic National Park, restaurants and the waterfront. The staff was helpful and very friendly. The room was comfortable. I have no complaints.
We stayed 4 nights at this place and would definitely stay here again if we pass through again. The place is older but very well kept and maintained. The rooms are spotless. The bed was also good and reasonably firm, in good shape. It is also convenient walking to grocery and restaurants. The owner and family are friendly and helpful.
The room was very clean and comfortable Parking seemed low
Bright, comfortable and very clean room. I especially appreciated the bed linens.
The couple at the desk were very friendly, the room was simple, but clean. Room had microwave and fridge. Great value for the price. Overall our stay was pleasant, although the mattress was a bit firm and you could hear the street noise pretty clearly. Room was a little outdated, stall shower, no hair dryer.
Not fancy but very accommodating. Loved that it had a microwave and mini fridge. Non-smoking room. Has a new flat screen style tv, so you can plug in to it. It also had a chair and desk, which was good for doing some homework. Also had Free wi-fi. The best thing was having them allow you to leave your car past check out, over night, to go on black ball ferry to Canada, saved me on paring and I enjoyed the walk to the port, about 3 blocks or so. The staff was friendly with directions and suggestions on things to do in the area. You can tell the plumbing is a little old, but it works, every once in a while you can hear someone else flush. The Google lookup said it had a hot tub, there is none, but they themselves don't advertise that. The google lookup also said Breakfast was complementary, when you check they do let you know that it is only available May-September, I went in April, so I can't rate them on that.
Inexpensive, but you get what you pay for... They do offer free wifi though. No AC, no bathtub, no bathroom fan
Your service sucks. If a person read this and wants to know more, email me back and I will explain it in detail. Put me in the category of "why ever use your service again!" Sincerely, Gary
Cherry was the bomb! Overpriced.
Cheap. Good breakfast for free. They had so many vacant rooms- there were like 5 cars in the lot. When we got to our room - in a basement, basically - it was like we were in a dungeon. We called up to ask if we could bump up to the second floor to be out of the basement and she said it would be an extra ten bucks. At that point giving them even a dollar more seemed too much. We opened the window and aired out the musty basement smell and lit a candle we had brought along. It is a Super 8 so it really is what it is. But the smell was just too bad to ever book again. We only paid 55 bucks for the room but we'd rather pay twenty more for a better view and smell.
Could not find anything for less in Port Angeles It might just be that hotel prices are high in Port Angeles area, but strictly speaking, the hotel is overpriced for the quality.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. We give them 5 stars. Clean. Good value/price. Should NEVER be rated 3 stars. Facility is run down and dated. More like a 1 star.
Rooms were clean, bed was nice, hotel is within walking distance to many things in the Port Angeles area. Room had a refrigerator & microwave which came in handy. Daily Continental breakfast with fresh fruit. Staff were helpful and friendly. For a motel it is high on our list to stay at again. MN Breakfast area was a little small, but we ate in our room most of the time so wasn't a big deal to us.
comfortable for a short stay. like the fact that there was a sofa to relax on. there were a few pieces of someone's hair that was not mine. the bathroom door opens right in front of the sink which was very uncomfortable considering how small the bathroom is.
The staff was very nice, room was clean, good price, refrigerator & micro No air conditioning, there was a fan. No closet, there was small rack for hanging clothes by the refrigerator. Room was a little tight for my husband and I with our two suitcases.
Reception desk very nice. Overnight stay to board the ferry in the morning. Clean, comfortable and continental breakfast. Very convenient.
We we arrived to Port Angeles we drove around looking for a nicer hotel. Days Inn looked nice and neat from the outside and the location was convenient for what we wanted to do. The staff was friendly enough. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. We didn't even take showers in the morning. My friend was excited to relax in the bathtub, only to run her fingers across the bottom and found them covered in filth. The corners in the bathroom were built up with dirt, this is not something that happens because it wasn't properly cleaned last time, but because it has not been thoroughly cleaned in some time. The scum build up in the tub could have been cleaned with a good bleach cleaner and a scrubby sponge, but obviously had not been done in quite some times. If it comes off on your hand, it can be cleaned. Anyway, the management is not checking in on the cleaning staff and making sure they're doing their job. Although I slept well and found the bed comfortable, the dirty bathroom made you wonder how well the rest of the room was cleaned. Management needs to do their job and check the rooms. Check the corners and make sure there is not a build of of dirt. You can see the dirt build up in the corners. The tub should not have a scum layer, but if your eyesight is failing, run your fingers across the bottom/sides of the tub. If when you look at them and they are dirty, that means the tub has not been properly wiped down. It makes me wonder what the cleaning staff/managements houses look like. If I was the owner of this hotel and knew my property was being so neglected, there would be some staff turn over! This is a nice place that is not being properly managed.
Like: convenient location, it had a shower, bed, fridge, microwave, in-room coffee. The lobby staff people were very nice. It was less expensive than nicer places in town. Didn't like: carpet and upholstered chair were very dirty looking. Our request for a table to work at was ignored. The cleaners didn't clean the coffee pot or make up the bed. (That last really amazed me. I've never stayed anywhere and not had the bed remade daily even if the sheets weren't changed.)
Good enough for a shower and sleep after hiing in the mountains Rooms are dated and a bit grimmey
Arriving for breakfast in the middle of the serving time there was a printed sign, "We are out of milk. Sorry for the inconvenience". Cereal without milk or a waffle or a bowl of oatmeal? What should I have? Long line for waffles so I went for oatmeal pot. Ladled a glob into my bowl and tried to stir in raisin and sugar but it remained a glob. Undigestible glob.
The price Our first room was not cleaned and the bed was unmade from the last person. The second room was ok. However there was a big black spider in the bathroom and that's no fun.
Conveniently located near downtown Port Angeles. Booked a room for my wife, son, and I the day before, and this was the least expensive motel with a pool. The pool and hot tub were small but pleasant after a warm summer day. It was nice to have a small fridge in the room, and the free breakfast included some deliciously fluffy waffles. The beds and pillows were not the most comfortable. Once you got past the waffles, the breakfast was mediocre; no protein options, either meat or egg.
Close to fast food options. Close to Olympic National Park. Outdated hotel; breakfast worse than other hotels from the same group.
Bed was OK Room was FILTHY.
Room was better than expected after looking around outside and lobby Attendant got into argument with couple in front of us instead of practicing good customer service; incensed that customer and they left after having online reservation she wouldn't honor; was very nice to us but whole thing made me very uncomfortable; would have gone elsewhere if they hadn't been my only choice
Good clean place centrally located
Reasonably priced rooms in Pt. Angeles (less than $200) for four were hard to find the weekend we wanted. The Royal Victorian is a mom-n-pop property, originally from the golden days of road travel and the motor hotel. It is trying very hard to make a good comeback. The freshly painted exterior in yellow and purple with flower boxes is cheerful and welcoming. The super nice staff were a highlight. We were both greeted and sent off at check out with a bottle of water for each member of our party (4) and a few road snacks at check out, too (pretzel bags and granola bars). Desk staff took time to highlight the ferry schedule for us and recommended local beaches when I asked. The motel was walking distance from the pier, restaurants, and the water. The municipal indoor swimming pool is nearby as well and is a nice and inexpensive facility for a family to use. Our 2-room suite was reasonably clean, with a working microwave and mini-fridge, and had been recently painted. It was fine for what we needed, a crash-pad overnight as we had a weekend away from Seattle. I knew not to expect more, so the Royal Victorian was exactly what I thought it would be. As I said, the hotel is making a comeback. While the completed improvements and effort are obvious, there are still projects to be done, and fixtures and furniture to be replaced/updated to finish the refurb. Even with updated wall covering and shower/tub surround, the bathroom really showed its age, as did the little efficiency kitchen. Our room was on the road side of the motel with windows facing the highway, and the road noise was audible, even with the windows closed. We coincidentally arrived on the hottest weekend of the summer, and the AC unit was not adequate to cool the room before sundown -- it was also blocked by a dresser and TV. The second room had no fan or cooling unit at all. After sundown, we were able to get a bit of a breeze with open windows and the room was then comfortable enough to close for the night to mitigate the road noise. Wi-Fi was spotty and an unsecured network. Not bad for a quick overnight, but I'm not sure I'd use it for a longer stay where I expected to be in the room a lot.
Good place, nice ppl at reception.
Staff was friendly and let us check in early and get extra towels . TV was modern. Bed was warm. Physically decayed: doors stuck, bed sagged, tiles were odd mishmash. Shower head was low. Bed-side map impossible to plug-in. One of the overhead lights had a pull the string switch. Walks were clean but cigarette butts in the planters. This property showed up as "3 *" on booking.com/kayak.com, but it was 2* at best. No telephone in the room for one thing.
Location Bathrooms, shower, beds, TV, carpets, breakfast
Quick access to Olympic NP, which is where we were heading the next morning. There were a few things that made this feel like a poor choice: We were on the road all day before arriving, and admittedly arrived late around midnight, but this is not the first time travelers have arrived late to a motel or hotel. The person who greeted us when we rang the doorbell at the front desk was not wearing a shirt. Then it was not possible for them to give us a key until the next morning. The room seemed clean enough, but the bathroom HAD NO DOOR. I'm close with my fiancé but I think everyone could use a little separation for the bathroom. The person who showed us to the room also told us there would be coffee starting at 6am, which we were looking forward to before hopping back in the car, but at 630am the office was still closed with no one is sight. The room was clean enough and the bed was comfortable for a night of sleep but overall not the greatest experience.
Cheap. We were planning to spend a majority of our time in the Olympic Park so the only thing we really needed was a bed. And it was a comfortable bed! Could've used a couple more towels given the length of our stay.
Carpet dirty...big nasty spots...
Nothing good about this place except location. Room smelled strongly of smoke, winodw in room was broken. Sheets were clean, but bed spread and blanket were not. Room was dingy and beat up. Cheap motel, but not worth the savings.
the experience was dismal and I will not book again at Quality Inn I made a last minute decision to travel and on the day before our stay I booked for a room for one night . Since the confirmation stated that payment would not be collected until arrival , I felt that I could make this reservation knowing that our plans were tentative. Our plans changed and the very next day , which was the day of arrival, I called to cancel the reservation in the early afternoon. I expected no difficulty cancelling since the reservation had just been made. I was still charged for the stay even though I had called to cancel . The manager was completely unwilling to consider the circumstances that led to this cancellation. I will never again reserve a room at a Quality Inn
From the time you check in you are delighted to find this is not just another chain motel. Outstanding front desk staff with advice for restaurants. Rooms are themed with decor like a home. Super clean. Great expanded continental breakfast. Great location and view of harbor. Wish I was staying a week.
An old motel...our room was in the annex across the street from the office. The first room we were assigned was dirty and there was moldy food in the refrigerator. Moved to a different room which was okay but not great. The place is badly in need of new carpet. Complimentary breakfast was adequate.
As a walk-in to a nearly full motel, we were put in the overflow (apparently an older motel recently purchsed from a private owner). Paid the Quality Inn rate, yet got low quality room. There was a large crack running almost the entire length of the door frame - looks like somebody had tried to break in. Very small room, only a double bed. And we didn't even get Choice points! If you plan to stay here, check out the room before paying and don't take the overflow! It's certainly not worth the inflated price.
Location was just off of Highway 101, close to the ferry terminal, small movie theater, Safeway and the site of the AAU Basketball Tournament which is why we were in Port Angeles. Room was adequate since we were only there to sleep. Queen size beds were comfortable. We were in an annex room which is across the street from the lobby. It was quiet at night - could not hear traffic which was a plus. Breakfast included waffles, biscuits and sausage gravy, cold cereals, instant oatmeal, yogurt, muffins, danish, toast, fruit juice, apples, oranges, coffee, tea, cocoa - ample choices for a simple breakfast. Front desk folks were friendly. The motel is 'tired' and could use some attention. Carpets were worn, needs fresh paint on the walls. Bathroom was tiny, tiny, tiny. Room had a coffee maker, microwave and small refrigerator (no freezer space). Big windows were clean and had a peek-a-boo view of the mountains. Cost was a little less than other motels in the area. Not for the traveler looking for an upscale destination. It was adequate but nothing special.
The only thing that I found to be uncomfortable with this place were the beds. They were rock hard. I like to stay in motels and such, but I want the bed to feel great. I don't want to wish my whole trip that I was back at home..........................The only noise I heard at this place was all the other travellers coming and going way early, but I am a light sleeper too. \nThey also allowed my two small dogs which was great! I would stay at the Quality Inn again, but I plan to take a cushy topper for the mattress.........................LOL
Better than the pictures. Be sure and request top floor in the newer addition across street from office. Rooms clean, good breakfast, hot cookies from 5p-9p. Staff very friendly. Hurricane Ridge a must to see. Eat at Cafe Garden and Kokipelli Grill (Chicken Kabob w/mango salsa). Both kid friendly. Walk to ferry. Would return!
We had a charming stay. I've returned to the Uptown Inn over the years (current & former ownership) for many good reasons: warm hospitality, reasonable price, great location, and comfy, spacious, individually-themed rooms. Staff graciously met the needs of our large family leaving before sunrise; their comp breakfast spread is impressive!
The room was nice the staff good but the walls and doors, floors are so thin you can here EVERYTHING! The water pipes make such loud noises I thought they might burst or something. every night and morning we were woken up from the noise of the pipes and people outside our door. It is the worst quality inn I ever stayed in and we will not stay again. we checked out several days early because of it.the hbo also never played and never fixed after several requests. it looked like a scrambled picture. this place is not worth the cost and convience of the ferry.
