Excellent location on coast. Food basic but wholesome and reasonably priced. Rooms not serviced every day. Only 4 channels on TV. WIFI only available in reception area. Breakfast only served from 8.30 to 10.
Location, the staff were vey helpful and the breakfast included was excellent. Just the room i was in had an ajoining door to next dors room.Got very noisy and could hear everything till the early hours.I was offered a different room on complaining about this tho.
Pleasant Staff. Hotel very quiet.Dreary colour scheme. No decent sea view.
Good position, hotel side nice and clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Not keen on karioke in bar every night, would have liked a seperate residents bar. Bar needed a refurb. And would have liked more tourist information eg bus time table into town in the evening. Also stopped serving food at 7.30 which I felt was a bit early
Very reasonable cost and nice breakfast Lack of information / bistro menu in room
Bar staff were very attentive and well mannered
Location, staff Cobwebs in bathroom, Karaoke until very late one night
the room was a good size, staff were verry friendly if maybe a bit laid back, great fire in bar!! small t.v. in cold part of bar
Everything was excellent I tried hard to find some bad points and could not find one single problem
We had a very relaxing weekend stay. Good location for shopping in coleraine. Also food very good. Have stayed here before and would stay again. The only complaint would be that the mattress on the bed was very uncomfortable. We are spoilt at home with a memory foam mattress so no matter where we stay now the beds are uncomfortable!
Super fast check in Very cold bar/ dinning room very difficult to book online - the main Best Western site did not seem to know of the Hotel. Booked through hotel booking agency.
Comfortable room, clean, excellent breakfast and service, good car parking. None although had to ask for heating to be turned on. Perhaps slightly pricey.
Staff,Food,cleanliness,price Nothing Nagative to say.
A nice, quiet hotel within walking distance of the town and beaches(about 30 minutes) Nice large clean room, which was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good.
All good Breakfast could be extended to 11am and not 10am
Handy for visiting family and friends in the area. Friendly & helpful staff. Food in Table Table tasty and good value for money. Would have liked a play area or something to entertain 8 year old outside of room although freeview was a plus
Staff were excellent and offered fantastic customer service, especially the reception staff on check in. It wasn't stated anywhere in the literature in the room or around the hotel at what time breakfast was available and at what time it was no longer being served!
The helpfulness of the reception staff.
Excellent service and good facilities None
I found this hotel very comfortable. I had to leave early, before the scheduled breakfast time, but the staff accommodated me and so I was able to leave, suitably nourished to embark on my long journey home! not applicable
restaurant was good
Clean, comfortable, reasonably spacious and modern rooms, No frills, but very good value for money, especially when booked in advance on a non-refundable.rate. Adjacent restaurant serves adequate food. Out of the city centre, so a car is desirable.
Staff helpful - facilities good N/A
friendly staff, convenience no room service and there was a bit of noise of the ground floor
Very clean , comfortable and competitively priced hotel with courteous staff. A thoroughly enjoyable weekend stay.
They upgraded us for free!
The spa was great although only open in the afternoon (3-8pm) The room was very clean but there was a wooden sliding door to the bathroom and the room was not as luxurious as I expected for a four star hotel.
a boutique hotel with a family atmosphere - wonderful.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was of a high standard, and the restaurant was excellent. No option of a smoking room
it was a very relaxing place the only thing was that the spa was only open between 6pm and 9pm.
could not get a drink after 9 pm.Also note in the room that you are not allowed to drink alcohol that is not purchased on the premises. This forces you to go out at night.
food and hospitality exellant
The spa with steam room and sauna was nice to visit at end of a busy day of walking and climbing.
On arrival we were upgraded to an executive room which was a lovely surprise!
Warm, friendly, excellent service, wonderful room, spotlessly clean, great location. no
Welcoming - home from Home - very friendly - helpful - relaxing - would go again - N/A
my friend stayed here and could not hae been treated any better,, throughly enjoyd the short time in strand house
No praise would be high enough for Strand House. Ernestine & Kate two special ladies. Rooms, food and hospitality were 5 star. It would be impossible to find better anywhere. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Everything at Strand House was excellent. It is furnished to a very high level, with comfortable beds. My wife really enjoyed the whirlpool bath. A lot of thought and care went into the breakfast - the freshly squeezed orange juice and fruit salad, and the best bacon I can remember.
Breakfast was excellent
An absolutely outstanding Guest House Hotel. Tom and Ernestine were excellent hosts; warm, friendly, considerate, helpful. Accommodation was exceptional in its provision of every conceivable comfort. The breakfasts were amazing ! Fresh fruit, beautifully prepared, wide variety of cereals and dried fruit, sumptuous cooked breakfast - full Irish. Tremendous personal attention and service.
Welcome cuppa and homemade scones on arrival. Spacious room with adjustable heating and great facilities. Sofa and footstool......excellent. Lounges to relax, library and daily papers provided. None
Very welcoming, excellent facilities (dvd player and small dvd collection), lots of home made food, advice on where to get dinner and go for walks and very quiet.
We would like to say many thanks for the kind hospitality received. The food, the rooms and the attention was wonderfull so we had a fantastic weekend at Northern Ireland. If one day we come back for sure that we will stay at the strand house so we recommend that hotel 100%. No.
the meals wer eof a high standard the pictures in hallway...dark & spooky!!!!
A lovely hotel in a spectactular location - very modern and bright.
Restaurant was superior... we were delighted with dinner and with breakfast.
Well furnished clean hotel eith excellent resturants None
This is one of the nicest hotels in which we have stayed. The room (#5)is beautiful, although not for the view; the food is delicious and plentiful with a lovely dining room; the ground floor bar is welcoming; the staff are pleasant and helpful. Water pressure in the shower is low and somewhere to hang used towels would be useful. A little way out of the town centre.
Great location looking out to the ocean. Cetrainly value for money and the staff were excellent. Highly recommended.
Pleasant atmosphere, very quiet, lovely dining room and food and very helpful and friendly staff.
Location close to the centre of town n/a
location good, room comfortable
Very comfortable, clean, well seviced room. Good food available at decent prices. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Ideal location for exploring the Giant's causeway coastal area.
Th comfortabl accomodations and the food at the Skipper's Th disco next door at night.
Friendly staff and nice atmosphere
The food and the staff. Didnt like the fact that i didnt get 2 sleep coz i wasnt informed of a night club being in the hotel. Was a bit 2 expensive for the standard of the hotel.
The staff were lovely and the bed was very comfortable. The food is great and reasonable prices. We stayed for 2 nights and found as a couple that Sat night was not relaxing - the place was full of hen nights who partied until 5 in the morning! We wish we had been warned how noisy Sat night would be! However, Sun night was lovely and quiet - very relaxing.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was comfortable. The bar and food were great. There was just one difficulty - detailed below. The music from the discotheque was extremely loud and kept us awake for several hours. This was the only problem as everything else was great.
The entire hotel was fantastic. Never stayed in a place where the staff are so friendly and helpful. The hotel was extremely clean and the beds are very comfortable. A lovely place to stay. Although the bar underneath the rooms did not cause us any bother, we were not disturbed by noise, it could possibly be an issue if placed in a different room.
very very nice
The staff members that I interacted with were beyond nice, remembering me and following up on earlier questions I had. Great room, super comfortable bed, location was perfect as it was right on the bus line to take you around the major sites of the coast. Also, as a personal preference, as they don't have/need air conditioners I wasn't expecting anything. But they have floor fans which I love since I use them myself to sleep so that was amazing (although this might just be a summer thing). Great experience! The walls were thin so you could hear a lot going on but honestly it's a quiet hotel with families and couples so it was never an issue when trying to sleep.
The location and the food were very good. The music was very loud. There was also a lot of noise from other hotel guests and staff.
the people were nice, the food was good and it was in a good location.
wifi weak. loud music on weekends. no view. not worth the amout paid.
My sister and I stayed for two nights and absolutely LOVED the room. It was decorated very nicely and the bathroom was awesome... great shower, towel warmer, etc. Breakfast every morning was delicious and there were plenty of options. The location was great for us, close to everything we wanted to do in Northern Ireland. The bed was a bit too firm for my liking but that's my only complaint. :)
the most amazing guest house ever , definatley a hidden treasure. The interior design here has surpsased anything ever or anywhere ive ever stayed , fantastic food also.
Very Friendly owners and a great place to stay, will come back soon
Absolutely beautiful luxury suite. Superb breakfast that I an ashamed to say I could not finish! Could not fault a single thing!
Friendly staff who from the outset made us feel welcome. They offered to book our evening meals at local restaurants and had copies of menus to help us in our choice.
Both the bedroom and bathroom were impressive - gorgeous, stylish and clean. We stayed in 4 different locations on our week-long Ireland trip and this was easily the most impressive. The breakfast was equally delicious. The only thing we didn't like was a subjective matter, we found it too hot in the room at night and had to open the windows to get relief. Maybe there was a thermostat in the room but we didn't see one. We did not bother to complain or ask for assistance as it was late and we were only there for 1 night so opening the window was sufficient.
Great location, excellent room and the breakfast was great. Very friendly and made to feel welcome. None
As ex-hotel management I could find no fault with anything Having to leave
This b&b was the best we stayed in during our trip to Ireland. I would recommend it to anyone. The facilities were clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly and hospitable. None! This was an awesome place.
Beautiful house in a beautiful part of the world....with a typical warm irish welcome...... Only minor point... Check in could have been earlier, no flexibility shown when calling to confirm time...
Shower control a bit temperametal
Great food, beautiful house, very helpful staff, huge bathroom with a great size of a shower, beautiful view through the window...
The lodge is located downtown and our room had a wonderful view over the sea.
A first class hotel, welcoming and excellent room
friendliness of owners, cleanliness & decor of room, nice breakfasts only the creaky floorboards in the room above !
Location was great as it central to everything.....Staff very helpful...found my room to be clean and comfortable i really enjoyed my stay in Albany Lodge.
Very helpful, obliging and friendly. Excellent breakfast to start the day. nothing
location - town centre and beach just behind the corner... old building in the beach view mould in shower
We loved Albany Lodge. Richard was very welcoming and the rooms were very attractive. The views from our room were excellent and it had a chaise lounge so you could sit and enjoy the view. Nothing in particular. There is no lift so that might put some older people off if they have to walk three floors.
The cleanliness of the rooms
peace and quiet No.
The personal attention and the little details such as the inclusive soft drinks and snacks.
A great location for enjoying the treasures of the Atlantic coast. The room was spacious, warm and comfortable.
The welcome to the Ramada was excellent, making me feel really glad to be there. The staff were friendly and pleasant. The rooms were very comfortable. The restaurant was excellent, the food was outstanding.
The staff were really welcoming, buffet breakfast yummy and room a really good size and very comfy. Would definately stay at the ramada again! The automatic light and fan in the bathroom was a bit frustrating if you had to use the bathroom in the night cos it took ages to go of. A switch would be much better. But this was only a little thing.
The Breakfast was so lovely and i like that you could serve yourself, Did not like that you could not bring food or drinks into your room.
The location of the hotel is excellent. Bedroom very spacious & comfortable. Staff friendly & helpful. We hope to return again.
Excellent Breakfast. Spacious rooms. Very tasty Sunday lunches. No free wifi included. However Bitbuzz payable wifi is available throughout the entire hotel.
Breakfast, the location the bathroom stunk of smoke
I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere within the hotel. The staff were excellent.
very friendly efficient staff and excellant food poor car parking also a street plan of portrush one way system would have been a great help
The family which runs the B&B was very kind & fun to talk to. The older son was a great bar keep & was very knowledgable about Northern Irish history & all of the sites around town. The Irish breakfast was delicious & just a 5-10 min. Drive from all sites
The staff were so friendly and couldnt do enough for us, it made are staff even more enjoyable
We have stayed here on a number of occasions for short breaks and have always had friendly service good food and good sized comfortable, clean rooms.
Comfortable and a good breakfast
The Peace And Quietness In The Room Itself And Its Location Room Door Handle Came Off In Hand. Fixt To Wall Showers Useless. Very Overpriced. Some Staff Unhelpfull, Certain Staff Overexaggerate Truth With General Conversation. Breakfast Staff Have Little To Know Manners Reaching Accross Guests While Eating.
Staff friendly and very helpful. Room excellent throughout the stay. Breakfast excellent. Nothing to report.
Fabulous kitschy decor! Wonderful view of working harbor and beach. Convenient on-street parking. Close to Dunluce Castle and Giant's Causeway. Helpful, pleasant staff. nothing
View was excellent and room was lovely
lovely and intimate, slightly old fashioned but in a really lovely way, great location. will definitely go back if ever again in north ireland.
Room adequate for our needs, owner very nice, lovely breakfast None
Room amazing - king size sea view None
Very convenient to Bushmills Tour, Giant's Causeway and Dunluce Castle. THe Harbor Bar was very nice and convenient for eating. Parking in front was easy. Nice view from our room.
the breakfast was great. its basic accomodation but great value for money.
Very comfortable bed and clean. Enjoyed breakfast too. Friendly atmosphere.
Very friendly staff, excellent breakfasts, lovely location, free wifi in room. Parking outside hotel was okay whilst we were there but could imagine it being challenging in high season.
Could benefit from a revamp of furniture in residents lounge. also armchair in bedroom.
relaxing atmosphere, good food and friendly staff
this was the second time we stayed at the Brown Trout. The staff are great and the food is excellent. If you dont mind a bit of driving it is a good base visiting around the North coast. Also the fact we can take our pet dog there. Seems to have become a bit pricier than average for food and drink, but the food is good and breakfast excellent again.
We enjoyed the cosiness and sheer size of the room and bathroom area. With two dogs in tow, the space made the whole experience much more pleasant. The courtyard layout was very pleasant and while most other rooms were occupied, we were able to maintain our privacy. There was some intermittent noise from the main road to the rear of the accommodation but this did not unduly upset us.
Excellent food and friendly staff. Room bedding superb but overall room cleanliness left some thing to be desired. Cobwebs (some occupied). Greasy shower floor. 2 light bulbs not functioning and the detritus from previous occupants left behind bed side tables.(found because I dropped something which rolled behind a table).
we liked the relaxed style of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. also the easy car parking and the compact lay out. lighting in the bedroom was poor and the design of the wash baisin poor.
Quiet, and in a very pleasant location. Staff very helpful in that we had a dog with us. On approach to the hotel from the south there are no signs pointing to hotel whereas entering from the north there are road signs.
the quiet relaxed atmosphere away from all the hustle and bustle. Privacy
Clean and central to our needs, food excellent.
freindliness of staff and relaxed atmosphere no
Breakfast was ok We stayed in a twin room as no available doubles.the room was tiny and so were the beds.the tv didnt work properly the toilet swayed when you sat on it.the corridors were like a maze it was very difficult to find our room as rooms 18 19 and 20 were not marked out even the lad that worked there couldnt find them
this trip was for our daughter's 7th birthday treat. the hotel staff and customers made her feel like a princess. it really was a special birthday for her thank you very much
Family room had two bedrooms Hotel very clean but quite old
Down to earth, no pretentious crap, basic & clean rooms (that’s all that’s ever needed), friendly staff and a warm welcome, great fun at karaoke night and the hotel is conveniently located close to the beach. None to note.
The staff were brilliant, being younger and going to Kellys the staff were great at times for us coming in, and also with us being smokers, they were very helpful with us coming in and out late at nite going for smokes The only thing was wen we booked originally we'd booked a family room, for 4 adults which we put in our search box when trying to find a hotel, and it still pulled up the Port Hotel Family Room, i would suggest that if this could be changed to do so. The staff were very good at sorting this problem for me
Nothing too much trouble staff always very pleasant and helpful places all were very security conscious Bar shut too early and no entertainment
Staff were great, breakfast was super bar was fun until everyone got bladdered. But then im not a pub person, some people may love this. The price was definately right. We had a first floor room the noise from the bar into the small hours was horrendous, the people in the room next door were in loud converation until about 4 in the morning, consequently we had very little sleep. In fact we had no sleep.
No stairs, I have a problem with my hip, dinner not nice at all no taste of it! Ordered chicken dinner but recieved roast beef instead!
friendly staff with a very substantial breakfast given. The decor is quite old fashioned
Convenient to center of Portrush and a great center to start Causeway Coast tour. Hotel is clean, cheap but very dated. Don't expect luxury power shower rather weak triton.
