Pros: Everything: One of the best stays I ever had. The house is new but built in old fashion style. The housekeeper are so warm hearted and helpful with everything. The breakfast has everthing you will need + selfmade jam and apple juice. The garden is perfect for chillout and enjoying the sunrise.

Pros: Very nice atmosphere, it is the kind of place that makes you feel well. Wonderful location in a birch tree forrest, I borrow a bike to get to the seeside and is very nice to walk in the surrounding. The host really nice and friendly very willing to help and make you feel well. After dinner you can seat next to the fire with one of the many books available. Wonderful breakfast served in nice old crockery.

Pros: It was a very convenient place for a stopover on our way from St Pete to Helsinki. Much cheaper than Helsinki hotels, and what is more - quiet and cozy. Perfect location right in the old town of Porvoo. Free parking minutes walk from the spot. Nice breakfast, helpful personnel.

Cons: Not really anything to complain about. We rented the apartment by Porvoo river. There's a slight downhill leading to the front door, so if you have bad legs you will want to beware of the slippery path in winter time.

Pros: One of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed! The hotel is so cost, so nicely decorated with antique furniture, serves homemade meals so you feel as you are somewhere at the hospitable farm. And when you leave the building you find yourself in the center of the walking street in Old Porvoo.
Cons: The room was a bit cold Please mind that reception closes early so if you need a late check-in you should communicate the property and get directions. Actually there is nothing difficult in it.

Pros: The place is a 19th century maternity hospital and I just loved being in a place with such a rich, beautiful history. The location (10 minute walk to the city center) is peaceful, with a swimming pool on one side and a big, gorgeous forest on the other side. There is a common area and a nice kitchen. Friendly and caring staff I enjoyed talking to (the reception lady very thoughtfully prepared a cup of tea for me when I came back soaking wet from my walk in the forest). Wish I could have stayed for more than just one night!

Cons: Not so convenient location and on their official website, they don't mention being closed for 4 hours during mid day. We had to store out luggage in the bushes upon arrival while we we went in search of lunch closer to town. Again, not so close to everything but a good value irregardless.

Pros: The shared kitchen was very good, so we were able to cook for ourselves. There was free coffee available, which was an extra bonus. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable, and only a short walk from the centre of Porvoo. The reception staff (not on duty all day) was very friendly and pleasant.

Cons: As others mentioned the hotel is a converted retirement home which retains perhaps a bit too many features of its previous use. The sliding door of the bathroom offered less privacy than I would prefer. Also the Wi-Fi signal was very poor, essentially unusable in the room. This has to be improved.

Cons: Reception closing at 1800 and all the doors are locked. Reception have the security code which is needed to enter the hotel. Unfortunately, reception was closed so I had no way of getting the code. There is an expensive solution to this problem; call security (phone number fix to the door) and they will come and let you in. This will cost €40! What a welcome. I would like to comment on the friendliness of the staff, unfortunately I didn’t meet any of them. If you’re wanting a quiet night I wouldn’t choose this hotel, my room over looked the main road which was very noisy.

Pros: My partner and I really enjoyed our recent stay at the Hotel Sparre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was satifactory, with tea/coffee facilities and a nice HD tv. The bed was so comfortable! it also had a shower/toilet en suite. Breakfast was good in the morning. Omlette, small smoked sausages, falafel, boiled eggs, cereal, various breads, plenty of drinks to choose from, sliced meats, cheeses, fruit smoothy, yoghurt, berry fruits, very nice spread!
Cons: Sometimes there was nobody on reception, but this wasn't such a big deal as 99% of the time, it got dealt with the next day.

Pros: Great location, but the hotel is a little unusual. The room was clean, newly renovated and larger than many (we had the comfort double), and the breakfast was better than many others. Nice buffet, hot and cold. It was nice, convenient to both old and new areas, and staff that was there was very nice.
Cons: It is the third floor of a commercial building, so after 5:00 PM you need a passcode for the building and the elevator. No staff on duty after 5:00 PM, but they will email you the code so you can check yourself in after hours. It was just the surprise and weirdness of the empty building with no staff around after 5:00 that made me uncomfortable when I was expecting a hotel when I booked. I didn't find out about the after 5:00 until after I booked the unrefundable room. If that doesn't bother you, great place.

Cons: The room was listed as suitable for 4 adults. However there were just two real, full-size beds. A foldable sofa was supposed to provide the other two beds but that thing was too short (1,80m), very hard and terribly uneven. I hardly slept that night. I asked to get an extra matress to put on the floor for the second night. My wish was verbally granted but the matress never materialised. A pity because the place is otherwise is quite nice, the personnel is kind and normally tries to accommodate for the guests' wishes very well.

Our room was a nice size w/ big window, and had everything we needed + extra pillows, mini bar. Reasonable rate, esp. for summer. Appreciated the underground parking (extra 10E/day) accessible from the elevator. The cooler of lemon ice water at the front desk was a nice touch, with the weather being hot during our stay. Front desk staff pleasant & helpful.

Cons: Some traffic noise. Weak wi-fi. We had a room close to the elevator and unfortunately two uncivilized groups of guests at different time made lots of noise early in the morning. The bathroom's floor gets wet after showering
