Pros: This property was exceptional. The hostess, Valerie, was charming and very accommodating. She is a superb cook and prived us with a beautiful dinner and breakfast. We highly recomend this property.
Pros: Excellent host, very welcoming despite arriving early. Panoramic views from front terrace where an very pleasant evening meal & breakfast was served in a family environment. Spacious rear garden with pool very pleasant for relaxing. The whole accomodation was to a very high standard. Also the surrounding area has lots of scenic places to visit.
Pros: Awesome property! View was incredible, hosts treated me like family and the whole experience was delightful. Food was delicious.
Cons: A little difficult to find. Could be a bigger sign and better instructions for GPS users
Pros: Excellent contact before our arrival and a very warm welcome upon arrival even though we arrived late at night. Valerie was a superb hostess and her breakfast was very generous, with lots of choice. We stayed only one night on our journey through France but would definitely stay again.
Cons: Bath towels were rather old and hard.
Pros: Exceeded all expectations - superb in all respects. Outstanding stay with wonderful warm welcome. Accommodation and food of very highest standard. Great location with fabulous views. Recommend very highly
Pros: The accomodation is a bit hidden but if you get there it is a wonderful place! The location is great! The owner Lady is fantastis, the whole family is very kind! The room was clean and very comfortable! Unfortunatelly we had a bad weather so could not really enjoy the wonderful place! The breakfast was also very nice! Thanks for the great hospitality!
Pros: The host Valarie was great. Nice customer service. She treat you like family. She is an excellent cook and has a great personality. She has everything ready for you.
Cons: The bed was little small for me. But, it is probably perfect for others.

See hotel page Batrice Loret welcomes you to The Originals Boutique, Hotel des Sources, Nevers North in Pougues-les-Eaux. Midway between La Charit-sur-Loire and Nevers, this three-star hotel, which opened in December 2017, offers quality services. Twenty-eight spacious rooms, pretty tree-lined grounds, a business centre, gym and terrace overlooking a tree-lined garden, all just a few minutes from the casino the old spa town is now known for. An ideal, modern stopover on a business trip or holiday in Nivre.
Cons: indication to go to the hotel is not well indicated at the main entrance which is located in a corner of a little street .
Pros: Property seemed to be newly renovated, with the room decorated well with modern furniture and 24hr check in and free parking onsite.
Cons: Large stain on the bed sheet and clothes still in the room from the previous guest. Staff didst seem to bothered about this as we checked out - "it's okay".
Pros: nice and modern rooms with design
Cons: no restaurant
Pros: Very luxurious
Pros: Friendly helpful staff , nice quiet location
Cons: Nothing really , would have been nice to have a kettle in the room though
Pros: Very comfortable, the best hotel we have been in in France.
Cons: Had problems with the WiFi.
Pros: nice & Quiet Staff really helpful
Cons: Didn't do evening meals
This hotel is situated at exit 33 of the A77 motorway, just 3 km from the city centre of Nevers. It offers rooms overlooking the hotel’s terrace and French garden. The guest rooms at the Hotel La Croix De Vernuche are individually decorated and have period features. Each is equipped with free Wi-Fi access and a TV. Guests can request a continental breakfast every morning, in the dining room or on the garden terrace. La Croix De Vernuche also has a private bar. Situated in the village of Varennes-Vauzelles, the Vernuche is in close proximity to the Sancerre vineyards. Hotel La Croix provides free private parking.
Pros: Pleasant room with view of grounds, comfortable beds, spacious well-appointed bathroom.
Cons: Nothing really apart from a better prior explanation of what breakfast consisted of.......
Pros: An unexpected, tailored breakfast to our requests. The hotel is run by a very sweet couple that will do their utmost to ensure your stay is as comfortable and stress free as possible.
Cons: Local restaurant Le Bengy was closed for summer hols! Obviously, this can't be attributed to Hotel La Croix De Vernuche!
Pros: Lovely staff. Very helpful. Clean and peaceful.
Pros: This is the third year that we have returned to this hotel, in order to visit an elderly relative. The peace and tranquility of the hotel is stunning and led to a fabulous night's sleep on a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent and we loved the little pots of Bonne Maman jam. We sat in the window looking out over the most incredible view of the valley below. The staff were very attentive and kind and made us feel very welcome - indeed they remembered us well from our previous visits. When you arrive at reception the hotel smells lovely and it is just so clean.
Cons: Nothing at all as far as we are concerned!
Pros: Proximity to autoroute
Cons: Breakfast was basic and relatively expensive
Pros: Room was immaculate with fab bathroom and lovely decor. We had a view of the beautiful gardens and countryside beyond
Cons: Breakfast is a bit limited, bread croissants and jams for €10 per person.
Pros: Practically perfect in every way
Pros: Quaint hotel, a bit old-fashioned but very clean and comfortable. Very convenient for the motorway.
Pros: Secure parking on site. View from room.
Cons: Not much around within walking distance. Typical French all closed on Sunday
The team from the ibis budget Nevers Varennes Vauzelles hotel is ready to welcome you at the reception desk 24 hours a day. The hotel offers 68 air-conditioned and functional rooms for 1 to 3 people. In good weather, sit on the terrace to enjoy the buffet breakfast, available from 5:30am. Relish the calm of this idyllic rural setting just 10 minutes from the Magny-Cours Circuit and downtown Nevers. There is a restaurant within walking distance.
Pros: The staff were very friendly. Beats F1’s any day
Cons: We had two rooms the air con struggled in one of the rooms. Lucky we arrived the day after the hottest day of the year
Pros: Just used this place as a stop off on our way to Spain, cheap and comfortable, can't fault it
Cons: Can't fault anything for the price
Pros: Its an Ibis Budget so expectations aren't very high, generally you know what you are getting! Location is convenient for onward travel and there is a reasonable chain restaurant just across the road, a slightly more upmarket restaurant a few metres further away, a pizza place and brasserie a short walk down the main road so not too bad for choice of local eateries. Secure parking is always a bonus, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room itself was adequate for a one night stay, clean and reasonably quiet.
Cons: As Ibis Budget's go this is perhaps an older one and is becoming a little jaded. Breakfast is too expensive for what is on offer but there is an alternative to have just a (tiny!) croissant and a drink for 2.50 Euro.......another time I think we'd go down to the brasserie after checking out as they also have breakfast options. Toilet was on the smelly side, not unusual in these older budget hotels - overall we'd put up with the shortcomings and stay again if it worked in with our travel plans.
Pros: Great staff, clean hotel and very welcoming
Cons: Breakfast was extremely basic, no hams or cheeses not what we've had before at ibis budget.
Pros: Very comfortable bed, linens, pillow. Breakfast was ample. . Parking free and safe. WiFi worked well.
Cons: No plugs by bed to charge devices. Only one plug in room.
Pros: As a regular visitor to the hotel I found nothing untoward. It is part of a chain and therefore benefits from the group policies. It is conveniently located for travel from Dieppe to the South of France and there is a reasonably priced restaurant next door. The welcome was good and the wifi excellent.
Cons: Coffee for breakfast came from a machine.
Cons: Breakfast, not much choice
Pros: It was clean, the staff were pleasant and good humoured. It was easy to find, safe parking and a very nice restaurant next door.
Cons: No problems.
Pros: Hotel easy to find as you drive into Nevers, very friendly and helpful staff who spoke English. Simple but adequate breakfast with a good selection of items to choose from. Although our room was opposite the lift, we were not kept awake all night with noise they way you can be in some other hotels.
Cons: No tea / coffee facilities in the room, having travelled by car all day, I would have preferred a restaurant in the hotel to dine in although there was a restaurant across the road.
Located in Varennes-Vauzelles, Brit Hotel le Magdalena is within a 5-minute drive of Parc Roger-Salengro and Sanctuary of St. Bernadette Soubirous of Nevers. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, luggage storage, and an elevator (lift). Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The hotel is large and a little shabby but it is clean and fine for our purposes, which was an overnight stay on our way to holiday in the south of France.
Cons: A kettle with tea and coffee in the bedroom would have been nice. The hotel in Briare that we stayed in on our way back from holiday offered more for the price (refreshments and bathroom cosmetics).
Pros: Location ok for overnight
Cons: No aircon
Pros: It was cheap.
Pros: Friendly owners, understood English. Basic amenities but clean and comfy. Nevers is a 20 minute walk. Quite a quiet location which was good as we had the motorbikes and felt they were quite secure parked outside with they’re alarmed disc locks on. Good base for bikers going to the area for Magny Cours wsb.
Cons: Think coffee making facilities wouldn’t be too much to ask for in the rooms.
Pros: It is not a very modern hotel, but makes up for it: balcony, great shower, large rooms, free parking, and very friendly staff. Would definitly stay here again.
Pros: Good breakfast and beds. Situation very quiet.
Cons: Not applicable
Cons: Hotel charged us for an extra night without advising us as we could not make it in time to check in. They did not have the decency to even try to negotiate anything with us. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THEIR SNEAKINESS !!
Pros: Located in the heart of France. Ideal for a stopover on the way to or from the south. Nevers is a large city with plenty to do and see.
Cons: A little dated in places.
Pros: The mattresses were extremely comfortable and the staff were very attentive to our needs.

Located in Varennes-Vauzelles, Europe Hôtel is within a 5-minute drive of Parc Roger-Salengro and Sanctuary of St. Bernadette Soubirous of Nevers. Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: This hotel smells really bad from ground floor up to the top. Beds are uncomfortable covers are dusty dated and had cigarette burns in them just terrible I would never stay here again. My partner slept in the car?
Cons: Very small room, no twin bed option bunk bed 1.8 m to climb into
Pros: Staff helpful. Towels in bathroom, good hot water!
Cons: Beds uncomfortable, rooms really too small for even two adults
Pros: It was easy to find. Well situated for restaurants. Plenty of parking.
Pros: Despite my very late arrival there was someone available to book me in, with a smile. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom perfectly adequate. The room was large enough to take my dogs' sleeping crates and still leave room to move around comfortably
Cons: It would have been nice for there to have been a small bar of soap in the bathroom, rather than having to open a sachet of shower gel when washing just my hands
Pros: Good choice for one night if you are travelling by car
Pros: Easy to reach and good car park...that's about it
Cons: Unfriendly staff very unhelpful
Pros: Clean and very reasonable rates, staff were excellent, food good, great value for money, not Taj Mahal but just fine.
Pros: The adjoining rooms
Cons: Could do with freshening up !
When you stay at Hôtel Campanile Nevers Nord - Varenne Vauzelles in Varennes-Vauzelles, you'll be in the business district, within a 5-minute drive of Parc Roger-Salengro and Sanctuary of St. Bernadette Soubirous of Nevers. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Window blinds, well heated, bed, parking, tea/coffee facilities in room.
Cons: Noise coming from another room A/C or toilet during the night, seemed to be more like water.
Pros: The tea making facilities, hair dryer, the warmth cozy room, Lovely food, helpful staff we love it there
Cons: Can't think of anything
Pros: Clean comfortable night sleep.
Pros: It provides exactly what it says it offers a perfect stopover en route through the Loire. Restaurant very adequate and very pleasant staff
Cons: Nothing negative to say.
Pros: Dinner & breakfast were good, staff very friendly & helpful. The rooms are quiet & bed very comfortable. Water very hot.
Cons: The planting etc on the exterior was very well looked after but the whole building is “tired”. The rooms definitely need updating, our bath, washbasin & toilet was cracked! The rooms also could do with a “lick of paint”.
Pros: Breakfast was great
Cons: The website suggested it had aircon , 40 degrees and it was warmer in the room than outside, lots of little flies in the room when i arrived.
Pros: The staff were helpful and the food was excellent. Very comfortable beds!
Pros: Restaurant had a nice buffet. Outside seating. Fairly quiet in spite of it being right in the town.
Cons: The air conditioner was very poor. In their efforts to be "green" they did not think about the people who had to sleep without air conditioning. Our fellow travelers had roaches in their room. Our room was okay but felt like a huge box - no way to get fresh air.
Pros: breakfast was great. Never had a problem parking either
Cons: In the extreme heat we had 40c, the air con wasn't up to much in the room, but I think this may have put most air con to the test
Pros: Standard Campanile quality is always good
Pros: Although travelling to this hotel quite often I have found that the rooms need updating everything else was good but not outstanding. It is one of the better hotels in the area and will be using it again .
Located in Varennes-Vauzelles, Hotel Première Classe Nevers - Varennes Vauzelles is in the suburbs, within a 10-minute drive of Parc Roger-Salengro and Sanctuary of St. Bernadette Soubirous of Nevers. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and a vending machine. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Good breakfasts
Cons: Bathroom/ shower broken,not clean
Pros: location of the hotel is convenient and stay comfortness is good
Cons: staff service needs to be improved.
Cons: The only downside was someone had been smoking in the room and it stunk so that is why I marked it down for comfort and less in cleanliness for smell not dirty as it was spotless
Pros: Free wifi
Cons: In four days I never see someone from the hotel staff. Very noisy rooms and microscopic bath.
Pros: OK for an overnight stop on journey
Cons: Walls too thin - could hear everything from adjoining rooms
Pros: Location. Next to a Pitzza place.
Cons: Some people smoking outside, near our room, the smoke came in!
Pros: good location and easy access.
Pros: Really good basic accommodation. Friendly check in. Room was compact but fine. Good having an ensuite. Plenty of parking, easy to find.
Cons: Was all as expected for price and accommodation type.
Located in Varennes-Vauzelles, Château de la Rocherie is in a rural location, within a 10-minute drive of Parc Roger-Salengro and Sanctuary of St. Bernadette Soubirous of Nevers. Featured amenities include a business center, express check-out, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request).
Pros: Near the highway. Owner provides personal attention to everything. Food was great.
Cons: The shower
Pros: A beautiful building with friendly owners.
Cons: Currently undergoing renovation, not quite in keeping with the age and style of the Chateau.
Pros: We were greeted very warmly, room was clean and comfortable. We would have liked to spend more time however our plans wouldn't al low
Pros: We had a very nice and warm welcome at the chateau. we felt very comfortable and the owner was at any time present and open to a our questions. The breakfast was typically and we had a wide variety to choose ( coffee,tea,croissant,bread,marmalade,cheese...). it is something special and you need to love this kind of old houses with a big history. We do. The room we had was very modern with a modern bathroom. we didnt missed a thing. we will come back once again, if we stay in the region.
Pros: Owner only bought the chateau three years ago and gradually improving it. All bedrooms in boutique style. Gardens need a bit more attention. But ok. In a few more years I,m sure will be perfect.
Cons: It,s a shame they can,t provide an evening meal on a Monday night. The main road into Nevers, barrelles has several eating places but only one open on a Monday . The proprietor is missing a trick here . It would have been so nice to eat in a chateau without booking in advance.
Pros: Very rustic
Cons: Nothing not to like- it’s very clean, an amazing old chateau, still being brought back to life. Owners are kind, working hard to make a go of the place. Don’t expect luxury - the price is amazingly cheap - but please do appreciate the hard work that the owners put into their project. They are trying to make their dream - be positive, and accept that not everything will be perfect.
Pros: The building is wonderful if faded, crumbling, and in need of a great deal of restoration in some parts. The owner and his wife are very willing to help.
Cons: There was very little basic information on what was provided. For example breakfast is offered but there is no menu, not even a list. Croissants and bread were available on what was a basic sideboard together with some sliced brown bread for toast with jam, but you had to work it out for yourself. A bottle of milk was passed around between guests and someone had to go and find some tea. Cereal was offered to children on another table but not to us and as the children turned it down we still don't know what it was. There was no cold meat or cheese, and we paid £9 each! There are no shops or cafes anywhere near so there are no alternatives. Our room did not have refurbished windows so the shutters did not close and a slat was missing. The weather was very hot so we slept with open windows and faulty shutters, the noise from nearby traffic was disturbing. The bathroom had no ventilation but the shower was ok and the bed comfortable. The owner appears to be doing most of the restoration work himself, to variable standards. Whilst you have to admire the ambition and pluck of the owners they really need some expert advice and guidance, if not training in hotel management and restoration. Lovely people fab place but completely frustrating. Glad we stayed, never seen anything quite like it
Pros: Very close to the autoroute but not at all noisy. Very comfortable bed and good shower. Good continental breakfast. Lovely grounds and plenty of parking. Good restaurant just 5 minutes from the chateau.
Cons: The chateau is a little run down so do not expect 5 star accommodation. The bedroom and facilities are all newly refurbished but the chateau needs a lot of money spending on it to restore the 19th century splendour.
Pros: Host was very helpful and welcoming. We arrived late due to traffic, but were still looked after. Rooms were quirky in a good way and comfortable. Our older kids were accommodated without a problem. Breakfast was good.
Cons: It's a 15 minute walk to the nearest restaurant if the in-house facilities are closed.
Pros: The staff was very welcoming, pleasant breakfast in the chateau before check-out.

hotelF1, the new generation of low-cost hotels in France that include free parking, free WIFI, and 24/7 access. New DUO and TRIO rooms. Outside the rooms is a spacious and well-equipped shower and bathroom area. For breakfast, our hotel offers an all-you- can-eat buffet. hotelF1, pay less and travel more!
Pros: Convenient, bed comfortable and clean room. Basic but not expecting more from F1
Cons: Problem was the member of the staff brought her kid who kept yelling/crying/talking in the lobby or in the corridor. So basically went bed late because of a birthday party. And was awakened very early because of that kid!!!
Cons: Staff and specially the manager tries to refuse customers from Booking.com because she prefers to give available room directly to customer. She advices me to stop using Booking.com it is totally unethical and inadmissible I am shocked. Rooms are dirty. There is no towels. The breakfast is just orange jus and tea Dirty very dirty
Pros: It's cheap and you have a small room with two single beds, a sink, wifi, a TV and free parking. Toilet and shower are in the hall. It was clean and quiet, no problems.
Cons: No airco and it was very hot in the room. You have to bring your own towel but you can buy one from the machine for €3. Shared toilet and shower.
