Cons: Not enough parking on the weekend we stayed. Literally no spots available.

Pros: Room was clean and comfortable

Cons: After paying $200 for a room, we had to park off site because several parking spots were being taken up by boat trailers. I was very unhappy about that.

Pros: We hadn't realized our room wasn't lake view (although it was still a really nice room) and without hesitation they did what they could and switched us to a room with a view! Awesome and accommodating staff. Not to mention when the drink machine was down the nice lady at the desk offered us drinks from her own fridge!

Cons: Nothing! Everything was exceptional

Cons: The breakfast was terrible. Had bananas and danishes the first day only. The hard boiled eggs tasted funny. Not a good variety of food. The muffins were not good. We actually ended up going out to breakfast the next two days.

Cons: People that had a party in the lobby for 4 hours. Also, tub very slippery. Also, green rubber mat on balcony was dirty and smelled like mildew, cobwebs on railing

Cons: We could not have breakfast. The items were not refilled. There were several people waiting in line. I was finally able to get 1 cup of coffee. We had to buy breakfast somewhere else. The beach was small, and had a water drain pipe in the middle of it. The balcony covering was very warn and dirty.

Pros: The staff was friendly. The room was perfect for our family of 4. Had plenty of room for our pack n’ play with the two beds. Beds were comfy. Mini fridge/freezer and microwave was nice to have. It was great location right on the lake. Pool was nice when it was raining. The play scape was also a nice bonus.

Cons: The breakfast was just ok. Would liked to have more fruit choices than just apples and oranges. They had bagels, stale cereal, muffins, pastries, oatmeal, waffles... lots of carbs. Yogurt, hard boiled eggs. I guess this would be considered continental. We ate 2 of our three breakfasts here for the convenience with two little ones. The staff was great on keeping everything stocked though. I didn’t like that there was a family reunion there and they took over the lobby for their event all day/night on Saturday. Nice of the hotel to let them but, there are other guests. Not many places to hang out during the rain.

Pros: The bed was good. Didn’t seem like there was much to choose from at that location so this hotel is OK But ... When you walk in or all you could do is smell the chlorine from the pool. The balconies had a nice view but had standing water on them for two days not sure why Must have rained. But it would have been nice to have that cleaned off.

Cons: We tried to cancel our first night of stay because the couple we were traveling with their flight was canceled due to weather and they couldn’t fly out of Philadelphia and they couldn’t get to the location. we were the ones driving them from the Flint area. He was a pastor and he was coming up to minister to another local pastor friend in Houghton Lake who was in the process of dying. When my husband tried to explain the situation to the manager Melissa at the end of our stay checking out she said that “oh she’s heard people come up with better stories than that” like perhaps she thought we were lying. and that most likely the owners back in Detroit area would not refund the first night stay. I had called the morning of the day we were supposed to arrive and told her what was happening. Melissa said we’d have To check with booking.com because it was a third-party reservation. We understand rules are rules but sometimes there are special circumstances that should be excused from the cancellation policy we would appreciate that refund of our first night stay since we did not stay at all and it was two rooms but most of all we were appalled by the rudeness and the inference that we were lying about our situation. Really? We came up to visit a dying friend and this is the response we get from the hotel ? we understand rules are rules but sometimes there are special circumstances that should be excused from the cancellation policy we would appreciate that refund of our first night stay since we did not stay at all and it was two rooms ! but most of all we were surprised by the rudeness and the inference that we were lying about her situation. We are hoping booking.com can help us take care of this situation. Thank you. Catherine Lee

Pros: The beach area was nice and quiet. They had toy options for kids to play with. The hot tub was hot and relaxing and the pool was a good temperature. The kids had a lot of fun!

Pros: At this point my experience was so horrible I have nothing nice to say at all

Cons: There were large groups partying in the hallways and being very loud and disrespectful. The staff did not seem to follow through with the complaints. We checked in at 10:30pm and by 1:20 am we had made three visits to the front desk, two phone calls and had personally talked to the individuals involved. We asked for our money back at 1:30 am to check out and we were refused. We paid $150 for one night to get zero sleep because the large group decided to party till after 4 in the morning. We will never be back and I will make sure others know that this is not a family establishment where you can relax after traveling

Cons: Bathroom, specifically toilet wasnt clean, took picture of urine stains and was only given a 10 dollar discount. Discount should have been more substantial or even free or voucher for free stay in future. Will not be staying at this property again.

Pros: Located just off highway-convenient. Breakfast was ok. Strawberry waffles all 3 days, sausage overcooked, baked goods fresh, coffee hot and fresh. Liked that i could get a cup of coffee off hours. Most staff was professional, friendly and helpful.

Cons: The window in our room was questionably secure. Staff did come and reclose/lock the window. The side door was not secure, no card needed- open to anyone, anytime. Uniform or identifying shirt for desk staff would be helpful.

Cons: The air conditioner in our room was plugged up so at first it smelled awful. Staff fixed it but smell still lingered. Pillows were too soft, water pressure was minimal for showers. I had to clean the light switches because there was brown stuff on them. Outdoor smoke from other patrons would come in through the loud air conditioner. Beautiful view off the balcony but their “swim area” was a pile of sand dumped. Not worth the money!!

Pros: Need to select who the target market is - family, couples, or singles. It appears to be a mix. Outside activists and rentals should be offered. We left everyday to find something and went to Higgins to swim for beach access.

Cons: The boat dock is the only area to get into the water. A beach access for swimmers should be added and rentals for canoes, kayaks would be great. Power wash the balconies to remove webs and dead bugs. My husband did it.

Cons: Our room wasnt ready at check in time. They seemed to be understaffed. The door to the pool wouldnt open so you had to walk outside and around building to a different door.

Cons: The breakfast was VERY disappointing!!! Staff was polite, but not super friendly. The first room they gave us the bathroom light didn't work unless you smacked it. They did quickly change us rooms when I called down to the desk. The room was for the most part clean. The only thing I noticed that made me think twice was the water guard on the tub looked like it could use a deep cleaning.

Cons: Floor felt wet and sticky. Breakfast was nil. Only had waffles, no juice or milk for cereal, no bread or bagels. Coffee was so awful and light that it looked like tea.

Cons: The manager, Sandy was very rude to my 8 year old son in front of myself and my mother. When we also told her our room had not been cleaned she questioned us on it. Breakfast was not good-would have liked more choices-no fruit, nothing hot other than waffles. The pool area was very humid and had a strong smell of chlorine-she made a couple of excuses.

Cons: The room smelled a little musty and carpet was wet when we checked In because air conditioning was not left on between people using this room. When you’re in an area where humidity is an issue something needs to be done to prevent this

Cons: Rented 4 rooms, check-in 2pm, rooms still not ready by 530pm. Pool doors broken, if chair propping it open slipped nobody could get in for hours. They ran out if coffee, cream, waffle batter, milk...90 min early on a Monday morning, very disappointed
