Pros: Clean, comfortable beds very smart set up for the price.
Cons: Rooms above reception get awful noise pollution all through the night from guests entering and exiting it really is very loud. Automatic lights shine through windows above the doors. Sadly despite a lovely room I barely slept. It’s a real shame... maybe have quiet hours?

Pros: Parking is good.
Cons: Every night and morning they started insence and it was very strong, made it impossible to sleep. They charge whatever they want execesivly. In my rooms toillet there was mold every where in the walls and roof.
Pros: The friendly staff and the hotel is very clean. The room was also very spacious and it was centrally located in the city of Latacunga. The room service were excellent. Our bath tub didn’t work and the staff immediately changed our room.
Cons: Not air condition/heater to regulate the temperature but we still slept very well!
Pros: Clean room, helpful staff.
Cons: The hotel itself was not loud, but we could hear EVERY movement outside our door.
Cons: Hotel would benefit from a Bar and restaurant
Pros: Good location, staff very helpful, good safe parking
Cons: Breakfast could be improved
Pros: Family run business. The father was like Manuel from Fawlty towers. The son was good, had more idea. They both tried hard. Over all our stay was ok.
Cons: Shower over the bath did not drain, and was dirty. Showering in ankle deep not fun. All the linen need to be bleached or replaced.( Yellow grey towels) Breakfast was so so. Luke warm coffee, fruit was half an apple and half a strawberry.
Pros: Excellent location - close to a square -atms and restaurants (El Gringo was great). Great breakfast - fruit, cereal, eggs, bread, tea/coffee and juice Big comfortable bed, plenty of space in the room
Pros: The owner is a very nice man and we could leave our luggage behind while we hiked the Quilotoa loop. The hostel is very big and authentic and we had a great stay!
Pros: Location was optimal and rooms were large and nice. Fantastic bed and excellent service. Free luggage storage as well
Pros: We stayed in Hotel Rosim for one night before starting the Quilotoa Loop. The room was nice, bed was comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful. The staff were all really friendly. We were allowed to store our bags for free whilst we hiked the Quilotoa Loop.
Cons: We let the staff know that we were vegetarians but were given a croissant which had ham hidden in the pastry for breakfast and accidentally ate some! The bathroom ceiling paint was peeling off and there was some water dripping from the ceiling.

Pros: Bed was cozy, shower was hot. The breakfast was really good, freshly prepared for a fair price. Marcello was lovely- he organized bikes for us and took us there the next morning and picked us up afterwards. The next day he brought us to the bus in Lasso, making sure we get directly to Baños.
Cons: The dogs' barking was a bit annoying. One of the dogs (the tiniest) even bit us- not that it hurt though.
Pros: Beds were really comfortable.
Cons: Bathroom was pretty small, but still clean. There aren't a lot of good places to eat close by. We ended up driving into Latacunga for dinner.
Pros: The owners are very generous, they are helping Venezuelan refugees settle in equador, but don't worry, it's not a refugee camp, it's a very nice place with: -Comfortable bed -WiFi in the room -Big kitchen -garden -hot shower The staff can prepare meals for you (we didn't try but it looked delicious) The owner gave us a free ride to the entrance of the park where we found a camioneta to drive us to quitopaxi(35$). Be aware, they have two locations on mapsme for the hotel, the one with the bunk bed icon is right, the one on the highway with building icon is wrong. Location on Google maps is Wright.
Pros: Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Connected us to great guide to Cotapaxi (Anjelica and driver Alex)
Cons: Hard to find. Noisy from other rooms.
Pros: We had a great stay with Marcelo and his family. Very friendly people! We went on a tour to Cotopaxi and Quilotoa, it was very nice!
Pros: The room was simple and nice. The kitchen had limited things in it but it was still great to have. They helped us organise a guide to the refugio and the glacier from the hostal for $60 USD for 2 people which wasn't too bad (catching the bus to the turn off and negotiating would have been $40-50 USD).
Cons: Having a small fridge in the kitchen would have been helpful, although they let us store our perishables in their own fridge. Like most things in the area it is pretty expensive for what you get.
Pros: Many thanks to awesome always smiling señor Marcelo!) He made this trip
Cons: Little nasty dogs always barking and trying to bite.
Pros: The beds are really good, so comfortable
Cons: All was ok
Pros: Good value for money. The cabins are in Lasso, which is close to the parks and volcanoes. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Cons: For the price, things were just right.

Pros: The staff was excellent, breakfast great, location superb, coffee all day. Bathrooms wonderfu. Woodwork fabulous
Cons: Nothing I didn't like
Pros: We had a great night’s stay at Balcones Del Rio before starting the Quilotoa Loop hike. We got great advice about the trek from the owner and were able to store our bags securely with them. The whole hotel was sparkling clean and our room was comfortable and nicely appointed, with a private bathroom. The highlight for us was a generous breakfast with fresh berry smoothies, tea/coffee, croissants with jam, ham and cheese rolls and two eggs each. What fuel for a hike! And on top of everything, the owners drove us to the bus terminal after breakfast for the start of the loop. We will definitely return.

Pros: The owner & staff are fabulous! They treated me as if I were a member of the family! the Hotel/ Hostel is in a great location, right off the Parque Vincente León. The dormitory room was huge with only 5 single beds and an attached private bath. There was a wall of windows overlooking the Parque Vincente León. The hotel is right around the corner from the best pizza I’ve ever had across from the Parque. They also have spacious double rooms with private baths and flat-screen TVs at excellent rates.
Cons: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!
Pros: The kindness of the staff The breakfast The possibility of leaving your luggage in a safe place before an excursion

Cons: Shower only have hot water for a short period. No option for breakfast
Pros: The family running this place were so welcoming and friendly! Such hospitality, make you feel right at home, always offering you cups of tea and coffee. Room was spacious and comfortable with a great view onto the square. Hot shower once you let the water run for a while. Access to well-equipped kitchen. Secure locked luggage storage for free if you're hiking the Quilotoa Loop. We came back to it after our hike as we liked the family so much!!
Cons: Kitchen not the cleanest. Breakfast could be included for the price.
Pros: Comfortable bed, hot water, basic breakfast, nice owners. A good entry into and out of the Quilotoa Loop. Close to the bus station a multiple ATMs.
Pros: The location is good, right next to the central square
Cons: The rooms were not clean. WE stayed there twice (before and after the Quilotoa Loop), and specially the second room looked like it has not been clean for weeks!
Pros: Location, bed and hot water, rooms on the back of the building away from the park are quieter. Free luggage storage
Cons: Kitchen isn’t very clean
Pros: Breakfast was exceptional (it was not included in the price) Kindness and generosity of the owners is top Good wifi They stored our baggages in a locked room while we were doing the Quilotoa loop. It felt really safe
Cons: A bit of smell from the bathroom in the 2nd room we stayed after the Quilotoa loop

Pros: Charming hotel/hostel on great location, friendly staff and a fair breakfast
Pros: Stayed here as the petrol crisis riots started and the staff kept letting me extend my stay. This place is a 4* hotel but the basement floor is a hostel I booked a private room and had a 8 bed dorm all to myself.
Cons: My room had a sky light into a court yard. Not sure if other hostel rooms would hace any natural light. Not a very social atmosphere
Pros: the staff was wonderful and very helpful with all of my questions and held my bags while I went to the Lagoon! A super great value very clean and a beautiful restaurants in the entrance. Good free breakfast.
Cons: There was a conference going on until 11 p.m. at night there was quite loud it was kind of interesting to watch.
Pros: Everything else
Cons: No windows on dorm
Pros: Good location. Excellent customer service. The guy at the front desk was very helpful. They store your bags as you do the loop
Cons: Room was in the basement. Looked like a dungeon. Not a pleasant place to stay. No hot water. Can hear noise from everywhere.
Pros: You can leave your bags for free when you want to do the quilotoa Loop.
Cons: The guy at the reception tried to rip us off. He told us that there is only one room left which will cost us 15$ each. But when we checked on booking.com there was a cheaper room available. He didn't even apologize after we showed him the price on booking. He just tried to sell us that more expensive room and started negotiating. Then we just booked the room via booking and eventually we got it.
Pros: Nice welcoming, staff was very helpful. Breakfast was classic but good, beds are comfy and warm, hot water in the showers. They can keep your luggages while you’re trekking around.
Featuring free WiFi and a terrace, La Posada del Turista offers pet-friendly accommodation in Latacunga. Every room is fitted with a TV with cable channels. Rooms have a private bathroom fitted with a shower. You will find a 24-hour front desk at the property and laundry service is available. Luggage storage service is provided. Ambato is 35 km from La Posada del Turista, while Quilotoa is 32 km from the property.
Pros: The best thing about La Posada was the owner Victor's enthusiasm for travel and adventure and willingness to share his tips. Every night at 8 he does a mini info session for guests and talks them through their travel next steps (i.e. to hike in Quilatoa, or visit Cotopaxi). He was very helpful, knowledgable, and warm.
Cons: The walls are very thin and you can hear everything happening on all four floors. Similarly, when the hall lights go on, they shine into the room as well. We stayed here as a stopover on the way to Sigchos to hike the Quilatoa loop. It was fine for one night, but pretty bare bones. It's pretty cheap though, so if that's what you're aiming for, it might be perfect. It's also easy walk to the bus station.
Pros: Cheap and good to stop over for one night while seeing Quilotoa.
Cons: No breakfast. No communal areas. Pretty much confined to one room.
Pros: I visited the property during the Ecuador protests which restricted movement around the country. Victor, the owner, was truly amazing and helped in any way possible to make my extended stay great. He organised day trips to all the locations where I wanted to go despite all the danger and even went with us to check all ok. Also lot of good advice from him on how to navigate the situation. I think the people really make this property and I would recommend even in calmer times!
Pros: Really helpful staff with info about the loop. Great hot shower and location is really close to bus station
Pros: The owner is very helpful and speaks good English. The location is pretty good. (bus terminal, market,...) Luggage storage for free! :)
Cons: The Bathroom is kind of a 'Bathbox' in your room. The walls of the bath don't reach the ceiling. The stairs are really narrow. The rooms are 'perfumed' with something strange.
Pros: What makes this accomodation exceptional is the owner. He gave us invaluable advice for our trips to Quilotoa loop and cotopaxi. Also, the price is super convenient and we could leave our big bags at the reception for free, which is normally paid at other places. Thumbs up, Victor!
Pros: If you're going to hike the quilotoa-loop, I would highly recommand this hostel. The owner Victor will provide you a lot of good information and you can leave your bags there for free. Good location near the bus terminal. Hot shower.
Cons: As it says in many reviews, the bathroom could have been better, its kind of inside the room, and it would be nice if there was an extra light in it. The room was a bit noisy from the street and in the morning you'll wake up early because there are no curtains to dimm the light.
Pros: The host Victor Hugo was super nice, every night he gives to the people at the hotel A LOT of good information for the Quilotoa hike, he helps you to find a cheap and good hotel on the stops that you will have to make. You will also be able to leave the bags on the hostel while you are hiking (for FREE)
Cons: The bathroom a bit small
With a stay at Hotel Rodelu in Latacunga, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Río Cunuyacu and House of the Marquis of Miraflores. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Although I got the cold shoulder from one of the employees, the older gent working in the mornings was very friendly. The location near the main plaza of Latacunga is probably the best part about this place.
Cons: They have some sewage issues, at least on the 3rd floor where I stayed. My room smelled atrocious! Also, the walls are not very sound-proof, so you will definitely hear your neighbor's TV!
With a stay at Villa de Tacvnga Hotel, you'll be centrally located in Latacunga, steps from House of the Marquis of Miraflores and within a 10-minute walk of Monserrat Mills Cultural Center. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. Planning an event in Latacunga? This hotel has facilities measuring 1292 square feet (120 square meters), including a conference center. A shuttle from the hotel to the airport is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free valet parking is available onsite.
Pros: A very amazing colonial hotel in the very center of Latacunga, just 5 minutes walk from the main place. Room immaculate, very clean with all facilities, hot water shower (not a common facility in Ecuador), and the owner Nelson very helpful for setting and organizing tours and excursions in the sorrounding countryside, such as Quilotoa Lagoon and Cotopaxi National Park. A very nice staying in Latacunga, probably the best place where staying in the centre of town.
Pros: Right in the center of Latacunga. Beautiful rooms (I got upgraded for free as things were a little quiet) - a good place to decompress after three days of hiking the Quilotoa loop.
Pros: The hotel preserves some of the most antique architectures in the city.
Pros: The property was nice. The staff was very attentive and have wonderful personalities.
Cons: It was very difficult to find the hotel — no signage outside of the hotel.
Pros: Probably high standards for this smaller Ecuadorian town, but not what most Europeans or Americans are used to.
Pros: They have soap and towels
Cons: I got a room in the basement which is not what I'd expected. It wasn't the cleanest and it had a bad musty smell the kind that can linger on your clothes a bit. No windows and quite small. At night it could get quite cold but that's mainly because the room next door had a hole up to the ground. The staff were helpful however often not present when I needed to enter the door. So I'd often have to wait for ages and then just end up using the main entrance that guests use. The different entrances could be better sign posted because I ended up using the main entrance which was hosting a wedding and I strolled through that with my backpack.
Pros: The room & bed were comfortable
Cons: 1. There was no hot water. I’d booked this hotel after a hike to have a warm shower and uninterrupted sleep, so was very disappointed. When I was shown the room, I was told to wait 5-6mins for hot water. I tried for 20mins, including trying the cold setting. I tried again in the morning with no luck. On complaint to the manager, he said the taps were reversed, and that I should have tried the blue side. When I explained I’d tried that, he said his staff probably forgot to put the gas on... (twice?) 2. The walls were very thin - I was woken by the room next door chatting. 3. I went downstairs to head out for dinner, but the front door was locked. There were also six people outside trying to get in. I couldn’t open the door (it looked padlocked although in hindsight I suspect I just needed to lift the iron pegs). There was no one at reception to help, so I hunted around the area, only finding one guest. Instead I tried phoning the hotel. The reception desk rang, and after it rang out it was forwarded to a mobile. The receptionist then came out and let me out. The people trying to get in had gone, but the receptionist wasn’t worried as he said there was another entrance around the side that they would find.
Pros: Hause in colonial Style in the Center of Latacunga
Cons: We had a Reservation for 2 Double-Bed Rooms and they gave us a 4- Bedroom without linens. IT was Suite a Diskussion to get the right rooms
Featuring a bar and free WiFi throughout the property, Hotel Cotopaxi is set in Latacunga. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. There is a restaurant serving Italian cuisine, and free private parking is available. At the hotel, all rooms are fitted with a wardrobe. Hotel Cotopaxi offers a continental or American breakfast. Speaking English and Spanish at the reception, staff are always at hand to help. Ambato is 42 km from the accommodation.
Pros: The location is perfect, precisely in the center, near to everything
Pros: Hotel Cotopaxi is our favorite in Ecuador, always a brilliant staff smile, friendly and helpful. We always come here on our 3 visits to the country and have certainly stayed here for a total of 15-20 nights. It should be a good rating over what we think of the hotel.
Cons: I have nothing to comment here
Pros: The room was spacious and the shower was hot and powerful. The staff were friendly and when I asked for bowls and hot water to make my own breakfast the next morning they were very accommodating. Location was good, close to many restaurants.
Pros: Good location, bed ok and room fairly clean (couple of ants though)
Cons: I booked two double rooms on booking.com so I could stretch out (6’3”) and my friend could have space too. I was given a triple with three singles. She was given a twin. I asked if they had any doubles, but my Spanish wasn’t good enough. Disappointed with booking.com and hotel Cotopaxi for not honouring my booking of double rooms. I only booked private rooms for the double beds - in hindsight we should have stayed in a hostel.
Pros: The location was good for our short trips to nearby sights. The breakfast was typical Ecuador style with eggs and bread, juice and coffee. Although the hotels is a bit dated, it was clean and safe and is good value for the money. The staff were helpful in providing directions and answering questions.
Pros: Great location, could walk all over town. Staff helpful with information.
Cons: There was a lot of noise that came into the room from the outside. A musty smell in the bathroom.
Pros: Close to main square
Cons: Hotel is a little bit dirty place. And at night was party and personel didnt react good. At the end they want more money from me than is ok a booking.
Pros: Great location. Quiet room, even on plaza side.

Pros: Good bteak fast, fruit, fruit juice, eggs, bread, tea, chocolate or coffee.
Pros: Comfortable beds. Great shower. Good breakfast. Great value.
Cons: In real it’s not like on the pics. Much worse. Price too expensive for what you get.

Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: a centrally located, clean comfortable hotel with onsite parking
Pros: Nothing extraordinary!
Cons: No staff at reception desk most of the time. Booking on line, they send you to the old hotel. The restau at that location is only for the breakfast where one staff does the cooking, serving and reception at the same time. The room had no exterior window and there was no good aeration. The fridge had some left over from the previous client! Nobody spoke English or French.
Pros: - Excellent location in the centre of Latacunga right across a supermarket.
Cons: - Unfortunately we got some discussion about the price while we booked straight at Booking.com. - Apparently the room prices used at Booking.com are different than the ones the hotel charges (besides IVA and service fee). In the end we solved it by talking to the friendly owner. - Keep in mind that their personnel doesn't speak any English. - Reasonably small and outdated rooms. - Some rooms are next to the street which produces quite some noise.
