10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at Lough Bishop was absolutely a highlight of a wonderful trip. Staying on a farm in this beautiful country of farms was the perfect last night for us (1.25 hours to Dublin airport) and Helen and Christopher's farm was beautiful and welcoming. While you should know it is located in the middle of nowhere, our phone guided us there perfectly. The farm raises lambs, horses, cattle and chickens. The antique house (1700s) has been completely re-done (worth a visit just for that story). We were welcomed with a fire in the fireplace, plus we loved our pre-dinner glass of wine in the glass-roofed "sun" room - which was actually perfect for enjoying the rain :) The home is filled with beautiful and interesting art, beds are comfy with lovely linens, and the bath and shower was great. The breakfast was our best in Ireland with eggs cooked as we wanted, meats, homemade yogurt, jams and fruit and homemade breads (we didn't like most soda bread, but Helen's was delicious). Plus we arranged for a farm dinner which was fabulous and extra special to have Helen dine with us telling stories of her farm and life. It was just like eating at a friend's house (if the friend were an amazing cook) and in truth we felt like friends by the end. We also bought some of Helen's jam to take home and are loving it this morning, our first morning home.
Cons: Nothing could be better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Helen so warm ,welcoming, friendly and homely. Her homebreads and jams out of this world, breakfast amazing with locally grown and organic ingredients plus her beautiful homemade natural yogurt.

A beautiful location surrounded by glorious Irish countryside and farm animals as well as 2 lovely dogs. Cons: The property is slightly tucked out of the way however there were taxis regularly available.

I would gladly return.
Cons: No downside.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food staff cleanliness just a wonderful place to stay and a special stand out staff member Jane who could not have been move helpful. Look forward to next time
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were really pleasant and helpful. Our luggage was delayed by Aerlingus/Stoddart. People at hotel went out of their way to help and gave us toiletries. Great breakfast too! Wish we had time to stay longer. Everything was just great. First class facilities, meals and services.
Cons: Nothing. It was perfectly suitable and a great welcome to Ireland. Top atmosphere.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: My arrival time was delayed and I rang ahead to advise of this. The hotel prepared food and kept it for my late arrival. Food was excellent. Lovely room, cleanliness excellent. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful.
Cons: I was stuck as the choice of hotels in Longford is poor. So, I stayed at Keenan's. Costs were 25% too high, however the quality was excellent.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location beautiful beside the River Shannon. Restaurant was buzzing and the food delicious. Couldn't figure out why the garden area was closed off, on such a beautiful sunny evening.
Cons: The bathroom is fitted out for disabled users. Hence the mirror is too low, when drying your hair and the shower head too low as we are very tall ! The shower is a wet room as it is custom built for disability which is wonderful but the water was making it's way to the carpet so I put a towel against the door. A disability bathroom is a unique selling point for the hotel and I think it should be better highlighted when booking a room. We booked a deluxe room at €135 WITHOUT breakfast and were so disappointed to be on the ground level beside the pathway where all hotel patrons had to walk past to get to their cars and people walking by the riverside could see through the window unless you kept the net curtains closed... but then you cannot see the river view you had paid extra for. Would have been much nicer to have the rooms UPSTAIRS as privacy guaranteed and would have felt more like the deluxe room pictured in the website.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: When we booked this place, we didn't know about "Hidden Ireland Country Houses" - historic private houses where visitors stay as guests. So when we were met by the owners Warwick and Anne O'Hara and shown our room, we were absolutely carried away with delight. It was surreal - like entering old British movie. What a beautiful house and garden! What a wonderful room and bathroom! Everything in good taste. We travel quite a lot, but it was our first time in a property like this.
Cons: Nothing not to like

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Truly wonderful place and so specially personal in terms of service. Warwick and Anne were amazing hosts, the welcome was just lovely arriving to an open fire and tea and cake. The breakfast was outstanding, the house beautiful, spotlessly clean, every minute detail thought of. Only very minor suggestion I would make is that it might help to have a road sign at the village - we ended up asking the way.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very welcoming and friendly people. Fab pancakes for breakfast
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent
Cons: Bathroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An exceptional place to stay. Perfect countryside location. The area is rural and quiet with small roads. This house is signposted so is not difficult to find. There is a walled garden out behind to house which is worth a look, a look in to the past way things were done. Welcomed upon arrival, room suite was very impressive. Large bedroom, large bathroom. Sleep quality was extraordinary. Breakfast was top rate. It was a cooked breakfast with cold food options. Very good hosts.

Pros: Very pleasant staff. Nice and clean room. Nice and handy Location.
7.0 Good
Pros: I expected some noise as rooms were over a pub. If I’d known that there was to be an end of season celebration with booming live music until after 12.30 I wouldn’t have stayed that night. However the staff were incredibly accommodating and the breakfast was the best over a week in Ireland.

Pros: All the staff were delightful. The room was large with a bathroom en suite. They even went out of their to accommodate my dietary restrictions at breakfast.

Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Had read some very petty reviews about noise and not knowing it was over a pub etc before staying so wasn’t sure what to expect Rang before hand to just ask a few questions and the man was super laid back and confirmed all for me We arrived around 8 on Saturday and went into the bar & the lady who check us in was so lovely and showed us up to the room and the different door to use for the rooms We asked about food, as from traveling from Kerry we were starving and it was so close to the town Centre The room was lovely and perfect for the 2 of us and looked over the car park towards the side away from the town When we arrived back around 11 the pub was hopping& the pub across the road was hopping as well, we headed up to bed and couldn’t hear a thing, was fantastic! Got to sleep straight away & up at 7 to leave for the Equestrian Centre - we had breakfast at 8 & the lady on breakfast was fab - got us anything we wanted and we headed away happy as Larry

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic food, exceptional staff, beautiful room..perfect stay!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The meals were delicious at the restaurant and it was only a short walk taxi ride to town.
Cons: Unfortunately during our two day stay I had some clothing stolen from my suitcase. A pleated skirt with multi coloured dots on it, and a new shirt with New Zealand place names on it, eg Piha, Raglan etc. they could’ve had the shirt but the skirt was my favourite. Also, I was travelling with my 83yr old dad, and he couldn’t shower because he couldn’t get in and out of the bathtub. A walk in shower would have been better for him. Mind you, it was the same in most of the hotels we stayed at in Ireland, they must really like baths over there.

He tailor-made a breakfast dish to our (vegetarian) needs and made us feel most welcome throughout our stay.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was tasty bed was so comfy and staff were very pleasant
Cons: Hard to find but got it eventually
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Food was pretty good.
Cons: Room cleanliness left alot to be desired. We booked a double room and got a room with 3 beds in it. Double bed was very bad comfort wise. We visited the leisure centre and it looked like it wasnt cleaned for days. There was an old bloody plaster in the sauna and a bad smell in the ladies changing room. When we went to the bar to have some food we were basically ignored by staff. Only that the supervisor noticed us and took our order we would have left. Thankfully he served us for the evening. I am certainly not a person to complain but we definitely wont be back.

5.0 Okay
Pros: No customer service what so ever , young girl checked us I , he looked so uphappy to be there. I had to ask joe to find the room . After 3 attempts to get passwords for WiFi , we gave up , dinner was bla , mash potatoes, hard like a cake . Lamb was grey . Same young girl served us , seemed even more unhappy. No one checked where we ok guy behind was good , seems to be running the place , 5.30 am woke up by a crazy sound, coukd mot figure out what it was , had to turn in tv and bathroom fan to try drown out the horrific song . Skipped breakfast to try get a layin as was so tired from been waking up. On check out, no body asked how was stay , just took key, no words were exchanged .
