Wonderful hotel in a beautiful Rhein village. Overlooking the market square but not noisy at night, as the village is small and very quiet, and the hotel is not near the train line. Ask for Room 2 which has a lovely balcony overlooking the market square. A much nicer overnight stop than the tourist traps of nearby Bingen or Rudesheim.
All of the above listed items. Also, our room was a suite/apartment instead of the expected 1 room (double bed/cot). The staff was extremely helpful & pleasant and the town of Bacharach was enchanting!
The location of the facility and the rooms really were very nice. Since we were there during the end of the tourist season, the resturant was not open at convenient times. It was closed for dinner both evenings of our stay.
Charming as to a genuine German hotel, clean, great value, excellent location in beautiful Bacharach. We would return again and again!
In my opinion, this hotel was in the best location in town. Our view was of the oldest building in the town. Bacharach is a very nice little town.
location and hospitality of the young owners. These days, in-room internet wi-fi is expected. At Am Markt, it not only was not free of charge, the charge of 8 Euros per hour is exorbitant. For this reason I would not recommend this hotel to others unless they had no need for internet access.
Centro location in town and the room was very comfortable
the location is good. 10 mins walk from the train station. It's also near the pier and tourist center. We can easily arrive the tourist attractions. The bathroom is too small.
We found the Hotel to be utterly charming and enjoyable. It is conveniently located (although the town is so small the hotel could have been located just about anywhere.). Our room was a very cheerful yellow. Very comfortable and clean. There are a lot of stairs in this building. People with difficulty climbing or limited mobility would have a hard time here.
Size of room & bathroom, cleanliness, great location in town. Quality of breakfast.
Yoghurt at breakfast was ok Room ans corridor lighting, Bathroom size and cleanness. Way to expensive. No covverange webside info and reality...
the price was right, good location (right in the center of Bacharach). Very friendly staff hotel could use an update/renovation of faciltities
staff/ food service/ and drinks/ all suplied in such a friendly way. overall an excellent hotel
Friendly, helpful owners.
Very pleasant, clean, friendly old style German hotel in a nice quiet location in Bacharach. We would stay there again.
Room was large and well lit. It was within walking distance to the train but was far enough away that there was no train noise.
Very clean, good breakfast Room was very small and view was of a roof and other hotel rooms across the roof. Although the online info said there was parking available, it was actually 4-5 blocks away in a public 3 Euro per day lot.
Good location in town and the included breakfast was excellent Staff initially stated that they couldn't take a credit card as the "machine wasn't working"; it miraculously fixed itself when we insisted on using the card.
What a GREAT little hotel!!! Bacharach is a sweet small Rhine town to begin with... and this little 26 room place, which dates back to 1726, as I recall, typifies the "small town" atmosphere... for a VERY attractive price. For starters, the new owners, Michael and Christina are wonderful warm people. The rooms are very well cared for, breakfast is just 6 euros, the bar/restaurant has simple food and a warm inviting atmosphere. It's a 2 minute walk to the center of town (1 minute more and you're at the Rhine) and just a 2 minute walk out the town gate, where parking is free. The short walk to the castle starts, literally, across the street. From our room, i could hit the main church, an interesting 10th century ruin and the town gate with a rock, it's so cute and small. If you're looking for a great little hotel in a great little town, away from most tourists, this is the place!! Ed and Terri from Reno Though it didn't bother us - we simply opened windows, like so many old, charming places, it is not air conditioned
Nothing. Noisy,uncomfortable bathroom, expensive.
The location was quite good, being in the centre of this town's shopping and restaurant area. There were only two minor problems: The first was the absence of parking spaces in the immediate area of the hotel; and the second was that our particular rooms overlooked one of the the main streets, where traffic noises late at night and early in the morning definitely disturbed our sleep.
The location is not difficult to find. The room is cosy and clean. The double bed is comfortable and toilet is clean. One heater in the room and one in the toilet. The breakfast is very nice and of high standard. Good internet connection and parking facilities. It's an enjoyable stay and I highly recommend this hotel. The room is a bit small but I think it's okay for me.
Everything. Beautifull and quiet location, frendly staff, excellent food.
Diner was very good - including nice collection of local wines. Staff was very helpful in recommending hiking trips.
Staff helpful. Food excellent both evening and buffet breakfast. Very quiet location up a side valley, although near Rhine and its villages for visiting. Would easily stay again.
Nice small hotel/restaurant in the vinyards near small village.
Very pleasant environment. Accomodating staff. Comfortable. Good value for the price.
Really lovely. The family are so friendly and kind. We only stayed one night, and everything was lovely. Very very pleased we picked this Gasthaus to stay in in Bacharach. The gasthaus has wonderful character and the rooms are super clean.
Staff could not have been more helpful Bit far of main highway for a transit stop
Rolf, the owner, receptionist & chef was great. He welcomed to his hotel and prepared a great dinner for us. It was a wonderful, short stay.Parking right outside, and Rolf included a super breakfast in the very reasonable price. everything was fine.
Cost, Friendliness and helpfulness of owner
Really nice place to stay, huge double rooms with comfy clean beds. Family run hotel, really good breakfast. A little bit out of town but a nice walk. Best for people happy to stay in a quiet place, wouldn't be good for room parties as sound travels through the walls
The hotel has a very good location, on top of the hill, in a quiet and lovely area. The owner is a nice person. The availability of a parking place is a plus. ... Well, the breakfast could be diversified. It was ok, but absolutely the same every day. Then, the matress and pillows leave a lot to be desired. We also expected more cleanliness.
We stayed in the apartment the views over vineyards and hills lovely plus freedom to come and go as wanted great. Very comfortable and warm even with heavy overnight frosts.
quiet, peaceful, clean, neat the breakfast could be more typical German
The on-site restaurant and bar. good food and very relaxing
family like environment everything was OK.
look around in the area lot of nice things to see it was more than splendid
We got what we expected: clean bedroom and bathroom, continental breakfast for a cheap price (60 €/night for 2 persons) We were not aware that the hotel did not accpet credit card, so we had to withdraw money to an ATM in town Bacharach, meaning withdrawal additional fee.
Great room with private balcony overlooking nice yard. Nice host and good breakfast About 2 km from town - longish walk
Very friendly hosts and good value for money. Located in an excellent location. Our requests were warmly received and undertaken with out any problem. The only things that we could fault were -no secure parking available and the pillows left a lot to be desired.
large rooms, peaceful was further away from the rhine than originally thought and up a very steep hill. Claimed to "hire" bikes, transpired only had 2 bikes and one of those had no gears. towels not included.
Staff, breakfast, location
quiet room,good breakfasts Car parking,location
In all respects services and facilities were good. Restaurant serves good food in copious quantities. None
Well ! where do I start !! got to the hotel at 8pm. to find the door locked then to be greeted by lurch from the munsters who could not speak a word of english. he had no record of our booking but managed to find us a room which must have been a good 10 walk from what I thought was the reception as the lighting was so minimal.through countless rooms then into a dining room complete with a grand piano ( why ) then a courtyard then our room which was suprisingly good.unfortunately the only place we could get any food or drink was well over a mile away in the village . Very steep walk back again, beware. overall however Bacharach is a very beautiful town in a world Heritage centre but Weinhotel Bluchertal i'm afraid a resounding no.
Good clean place to rest while exploring the Rhine. Friendly staff, despite the staff not speaking any English we had no trouble and where made to feel very welcome. Fantastic breakfast.
Great people and food. Clean rooms. Great walking in the area. About a 1 km walk to the town.
The breakfast was plentiful. The hotel appeared closed when we arrived and although the owner was pleasant enough and tried to communicate with us, his lack of English and our complete lack of German made dialogue difficult. The restaurant was closed during our stay, which we had not been aware of, and the distance from Bacharach made it necessary to drive in for an evening meal. The reviews we had read regarding this hotel had raised our expectations and we were accordingly disappointed.
The breakfast was wonderful. Dinner and wine were great. The room was very comfortable. Location of hotel is on steep hill with limited parking making it more difficult to come and go.
Nothing. We left a day early because the hotel was so uncomfortable.
Everything. The staff was so friendly as to seem like family. Hermann and Elena were wonderful hosts. The hotle is great for people who enjoy not only staying in a historical location but also meeting the decendants of the original owners. (Alles.
friendly atmosphere, quiet location
Rooms not very clean,breakfast poor.
Nice view, good comfortable room & bed. No wine tasting, poor selection of breakfast, no juice or milk, just coffee. Location is at the top of the village, you need a car to reach the Rhine for boat trips. We had a 10 minute walk to a restaurant in the village which was very nice!
It was pleasant with a view of the vineyards all around. It was convenient for visiting the several medieval towns in this area of Rheinland. Breakfast was so-so at this location. Internet was supposed to be available. It really wasn't. The proprietor would allow you to check to email on her computer. That is not internet access. You could not use your own computer. This guesthouse only accepts cash.
