Nice rooms, friendly proprietor but not intrusive, good setting just at the foot of Moustiers so very easy to walk to town and back. Pretty gardens, nice tennis court, small bar. Close to Lac de Sainte Croix and good location for exploring the gorges. Just as it claims, a hotel "de charme".
The innkeeper was very accommodating and the 10euro breakfast was worth every penny. The facility was clean and warm, the short walk to the village was nice. We would stay their again. all was perfect
The peace & tranquility, the owner's involvement and his slightly eccentric manner. The character building and view with a short walk to Moustieres. We thought it a little overpriced.
Nice room, charming, friendly and helpful staff (owner). Intimate garden. No
Very quaint french hotel with a certain flair to it and very close to beautiful village - had a wonderful time.
Jean Louis is a wonderful host and the room we had (Jupiter) was spacious and lovely.
Perfect location to explore the Verdun gorge and region, housing feels very genuine almost like a private guest at the owner. Very good breakfast and helpful tips for the stay. Absolutely recommended!
Very helpfull owner, good suggestion for dinner A little bit far from the village center
Charming building and location. Sensational views from the upper floors. Convenient walk (uphill) to town. Located just far enough out of town to feel removed from the tourists, etc. Hard to find at first. We circled a few times and asked directions twice in order to locate it.
Lovely setting and rooms, perfect for romance and exploring the mountains. Staff were fantastic, relaxed and entertaining
The general atmosphere and impression is inconsistent with the price of a very good if not luxury hotel that its price and description implies; the termal waters and other spa procedures turned out to be difficult to obtain (special reservations are required for everything in this city and the hotel does not help with this, just charging extra for any little service); you feel unwilling intruder there rather than a guest
Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Interconnecting rooms (118/119) suited us very well. Lot of noise from people above using shower in the morning
friendless of staff, quiet ambiance. no
Location; large, light airy bedroom and bathroom Only dinner option available was very expensive gourmet menu - not suitable for a vegetarian (me) or my teenage children.
Hotel is a little gem with excellent facilities and health suite. Pool is small with limited sun beds but the service at the hotel was excellent, as was the food.It is situated within easy walking distance of the village centre and lakes are easily within reach for access to water sports. A very enjoyable stay. We had 2 rooms. In one the air conditioning worked very well, in the other it did not.
Welcoming staff, excellent food with very quiet hotel and surroundings. The bar closing just after 10pm. Needs a closing time of at least 11pm for guests, as there are no coffee making facilities in room.
The restaurant is high quality and children friendly. Tennis court could be better maintained
Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Restuarant was of a 5* standard, although not stuffy, food was excellent, the best of our holiday. Outdoor pool was great with plent of sunbeds. Garage parking avalaible. Really well run hotel, we completely relaxed here. Will definately return.
Clean, comfortable and functional No coffee makong facility in the room
The hotel was easy to find and the room comfortable and clean. It has a nice swimming pool. The staff had a tofee nosed attitude and the breakfast considering the price was very poor.
very nice hotel, with lots of facilities. Nice room, nice pool/spa other facilities, lots of alternatives for breakfast, best dinner in the area. Good Service. Hot at night in the sleeping room on second floor.
Beautiful location, welcoming staff and lovely room
Only the countryside. The suite are very problematic, the "free internet" are very slow and old and not useful. The price is very high but with no reason. We shell never stay there again !
The hotel was easy to find fom direction, clean and welcoming. The children loved the pool and the food portions were good and tasty.. Information/menus were also in English. A good stop over.
Excellent buffet. Excellent swimming pool. Easy to locate.
Nothing No Staff on arrival, had to knock on the door for 10 minutes. No Reception during the night, No bar r food after 21:00hrs approx
Close to center
Everything! very comfortable and ideal for families. Big rooms.
Misleading Name,as it was like a holiday camp ,Nothing like a Chateau.
Lot of activities for children in this vacation resort Poor breakfast. Nor ideal for people who want to be close to the typical Provencal vallage, since this is approx. 2 km outside the village centre
Beautiful surroundings, good food. Fine facilities and easy access. The room was a little small, and the access a little dark (unlit) at night.
the hotel is charming with lovely settings & pool, staff were kind, polite, knowledgeable & booked a table a great restaurant in local village, close enough to the gorge de verdon if hotels are fully booked there room rates & the food & drinks were expensive for what they were... I recommend saving your money on breakfast & dinner & go in to the town for a lovely local bite.
This is a delightful hotel in a quaint village near Aups, the truffle 'capital' of france. The staff were all extremely friendly, and helpful. The building and grounds were delightful. The facilities were mostly nonsmoking with the exception of the bar, but no one was smoking during our stay. The restaurant was excellent. I would definitely return if we visit the area again.
Wonderful location.Comfortable room. Breakfast good. Dinner, what a let down. Overpriced, limited menu, poor quality. Dinner.
Breakfast good, meals good Small room
friendliness of staff
The country setting was great, even though road noise intruded somewhat. Breakfasts were high quality. Location was very convenient for day touring. There is a sense that the operation is run by accountants. Bathroom facilities were small; and the description `romantic` for a room that was pretty standard streched the imagination and the tarriff. Worst was the quality of food and maitre d`e. The former, a choice on the a la carte, was sparse and expensive at Eu25, and the cheese plate was well iced; and the latter was overbearing and dismissive. Dinner costs were rebaited but it was very disappointing none the less.
The outside dining terrase is lovely in the summer. The room was small for the amount we paid and not having air conditioning when it's 35 degrees outside is not ideal. The mini-bar lock was broken so we couldn't access it (we were told it would be fixed after we left). However the thing that annoyed us most was that in this heat gentlemen have to wear long trousers for dinner. Utterly outdated and riduculous... we thought that we were there to relax not to be told what we can and can't wear.
This is simply a top hotel. The staff is very friendly and professional (1 exception though), the rooms very clean, cosy and romantic with all the necessities (incl fast and free internet). Definitely worthy of a 4 star. The location is in the middle of nowhere, but central to those that want the "real" provence: markets of Reziers, azure-blue lake of Sainte Croix, pittoresque cities of Pau, Salerners, etc. Furthermore, the restaurant of this hotel is a Michelin star, and the food simply superb, and very cheap relative to the reputation (full meny for 28 EURO). The rooms are not big. We also experienced the hotel managers switching from extremely friendly to hostile and rude on the last day (I booked the room with a card that didnt have enough funds; upon arrival I mentioned that and gave one of the managers a valid card for our stay which she put in the system; unfortunately they didnt communicate with each other and another manager tried to debit the old card, which didnt work; after which he rudely forced us to pay all on the spot and refused to let us enter the room - unknowing that I had given another card three days prior in their system). Luckily, the manager of the restaurant felt for us and made it up with a "special" splendid meal.
Everything works like clockwork here - check in by 7:30pm, dinner at 8:00pm sharp etc. This commitment to organisation and quality ensures a very good standard of facilities and service, especially with the food. Tranquil country location. Highly recommended. Everything works like clockwork here ..... If, like us, you have come to Provence for some relaxation and rest and find yourself checking in a few minutes late or skipping breakfast to catch up on sleep you may find yourself disturbing the daily routine.
The location is great, the decor the garden, having a nice breakfast outside.. Great and relaxing surroundings.. Tv remote didn't work.
The hotel was well run, staff friendly and the breakfast was lovely and fresh. The room with the pool table & selection of books & games was a good idea. There was plenty of information available on activities in the area and the staff were happy to give you recommendations. We had a very pleasant stay there and would return again.
The hotel is in the middle of Provence and close to Verdon Gorge. The room was small with one small window and its location was in a remote village with no restaurants etc. If you did not want the in house dinner ( a set 3 course menu) at 30 euro per. head you had to drive over 5 km to find an alternative restaurant.
Excellent, quiet, location. We were welcomed by the multi-lingual owners as if we were family. Were shown to our room, which was very clean and comfortable, and given brochures for the local attractions. excellent four-course dinner every night, cooked by the owners, using local organic produce. Superb service. Great choice for breakfast. There was a complimentary bottle of water in the room, but we would also have liked tea/coffee making facility; although available in the lounge, this isn’t always convenient. However, can’t wait to stay there again!
Was easy to find and had good safe parking. Very nice property with a nice view and the patio was very comfortable. There was a brand new bathroom in our room and the room was large and quiet. Short walk to town. The lobby and breakfast room was very interesting. The owner was very helpful and pleasant. The busy decor could be updated (ie flowery curtains)
Very convenient, just like stay at home.
location, and facilities with very nice people poor weather, but can not blame the hotel for that
I would recommend this heaven of peace to anyone who wants to relax in Provence and enjoy a different way of life for a while. Breakfast is a little bit basic, so we prepared it ourselves in the kitchenette of our room.
Convenient, accessible, helpful staff Lack of restaurant or bar facilities
Quietness and relaxing atmosphere
The staff at Lou Paradou could not have been any nicer. Such great people who really aim to make your stay comfortable and happy. The hotel is incredibly basic and lives up to its two star rating. It's nothing special but it is clean.
The quiet location within easy walking distance of the small town was ideal. The lady owner was a delight and spoke excellent English. The grounds of the Hotel were expansive and impressive and the room was just what we wanted - we even had a small balcony where we could sit and admire the grounds. We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a low cost, comfortable and peaceful stay.
The hotel was on walking distance from the citycenter of Greoux. It was a great place to take trips to different cities & areas. The rooms were very simple, but compared to other hotels in the area, good value for money. The breakfast was not very extensive and there were not a lot of facilities, like a bar or restaurant.
the friendly family atmosphere.this hotel was special due to the ambience, quality and friendlinees of all staff ...particulary the owners who really put in the extra effort to make your stay enjoyable
We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights and used it as our main base to tour Provence and the Riveaira. It's location is ideal adjacent to the town pedestrian area with access to a varied selection of restaurants, shops and attractions including weekly markets. The hotel has it's own parking at the rear where there is a very good quality restaurant beside the swimming pool. During our stay it was quiet at night and the restaurant closes around 1100 The town felt safe late at night with many visitors evident. The room was comfortable and quite, the breakfast was very good and in general everything suited our extended stay quite well.
The staff were friendly and helpful, it was in a good prximity to the old town. The directions for geting there were poor
Kind staff, nice restaurant, 3 course dinner for EUR 23,-, quiet, large pool with shade, large room, bathroom just refurbished, free parking, close to town There is no air conditioning in the hotel, at least a ceiling fan in the room would be nice
Very central, good choice of breakfast, good sized family room
Exellent location directly adjacent to the lovely pedestrianised old town and chateau. Good choice at Breakfast in pleasant breakfast room. We had a large room with modern shower room and balcony which was very comfortable. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Although the hotel restaurant for dinner was excellent on the 2 occasions used the menu was a bit too rich and 'gourmet ' for regular use and the limited menu did not change in the 4 days we were there . However there is a wide range of good eating places within easy walking distance.
staff friendly and helpfull, location is very good, next to the restaurants, shopping and see sites, parking available is very convenient. Room was lovely seemed to be newly refurbished, bathroom clean & very modern. Location of the trash container was near the swimming pool and what seems to be a play area, although there was a big nice terrace for relaxing through out the day, it turns to be noisy and exposed during evening and night due to the busy restaurant opposite the rooms, so as we cant do anything regarding the noise, at least a curtain will help and add privacy to the rooms.
Town centre but tranquil.
Good, central location in pleasant village, nice restaurant & pool area Small rooms with no air conditioning
This hotel is located in a charming village and well placed for walking, cycling and exploring beautiful countryside. The breakfast was ample. The hotel pool was a good size, free WiFi excellent and and large car park.
A beautifully restored old building in the town centre. Good but smallish swimming pool. Strong smell of drains at times. Our room was not ready when we arrived.
Pleasant villa with fantastic garden that has plenty of room to park your car. Because it is a small village the night sky (stars) is much more beautiful than you're used to if you live in a city. Wifi works great (even if they use a password that's a random 30 characters long :-) ). Very nice welcome when we got there. It would be nice to have a minibar, and water boiler in the room, and also nicer hotel-shampoo and -shower gel.
quite good value - good location - recommended - roomy nothing really
We loved the elegant French style of the hotel in a very pretty location. Central to the charming town and convenient for the beautiful Lac Esparron nearby. We were only staying one night, but were slightly disappointed, that as residents we were unable to eat at the hotel restaurant, as it was fully booked! It wasn't a major problem as there are plenty of restaurants within a short walk.
The staff was extremely helpful. There was no air conditioning and it was very hot (not their fault).
Everything. Difficult to know/see if the hotel was good just looking at the Internet.
The staff of the hotel was very warm and kind and helpful. a small village with lots of good atmosphere. The fitted carpet on the wall in our hotel room was a little bit dusty.
Very nice and clean hotel. Friendly staff. the village is full of older people because of the thermal baths (not recommended for young people
all was good A minor problem was that access to the parking was via a short steep ramp that could damage some vehicles and the parking space was smallfor the capacity of the hotel but there was a large free public parking directly opposite.
