Pros: The Burton Inn was a cool little place. Close to all the shops, restaurants, and bars. My wife and I had a great time exploring Cambria and wine tasting at all the locations. Had a great bed and breakfast feel and was real treat to try something new.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is very tough to rate. Room was very large and cozy. The young lady at the desk was very friendly and informative. She offered suggestions of places to go and places to eat. That being said there are a couple of negatives. The TV was older than most of my children. The sitting room/living room area was more updated. The bathroom was very outdated. Tub was way too tall for easy in and out. Probably not the best for older people. If asked would I return I would say yes. Clean room, friendly staff and comfortable bed.
6.2 Good
Pros: The staff was very helpful. When someone didn't know the answer to s question or concern, he/she would find out promptly. The all suite inn had very large comfortable nicely decorated suites.
Cons: The bathroom, while large, was a bit dated and garish.

Pros: Staff was very friendly. Room was very spacious and comfortable. 2 couches and nice size tv in separate room. Fridge and microwave. Easy walking distance to many restaurants and boutiques. We’ll stay here again.
Cons: Shower pressure was a little low

Pros: Had the best bed it was quiet, no rowdies, the staff were very pleasant helpful in rebooking for another night at competitions location.
Cons: Their breakfast was not as good but it was not a deal breaker we rebooked and are going back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are gorgeous! Hard wood floors, fireplace, tile, leather chairs, king bed. And you walk across the street and the ocean is right there! Moonstone beach with wonderful colorful rocks is right out your window. Beautiful town! So clean and great restaurants around!
Cons: Mattress was stiff, that was the only thing I would change. Other than that it was perfect.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was wonderful, the bed was great
Cons: The amenities (coffee in the room) was a disappointment. There was one package of coffee (regular coffee) for two people. Additionally when I went to the office to ask for a comb (which I forgot), the person at the desk was on the phone chatting to another coworker. She didn't even acknowledge me and continued talking on the phone. Just a few details that could have improved the stay.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, friendly service, right by the beach so super convenient. Gorgeous view of the water and even saw whiles. Nice pool.
6.5 Good
Pros: the location was very good, parking was easy, and we were given the room we requested. I did not get to see/use the pool as I arrived too late and left early. But it was nice that there was a pool.
Cons: The room was not as comfortable as I would have hoped at that price. Beds were fairly hard, bedding was cheap feeling. The room was extremely hot, but there was no air conditioning. We opened the windows, but there were no screens, so we had to risk bugs. The walls were very thin and we could hear our neighbors. The continental breakfast was available in the front office, to be eaten in your room. However even though you had to "take out" your meal, there were no lids for coffee cups... Overall I did not think it was much of a value.

Pros: Clean, Quiet and helpful at the desk.

Pros: Rooms very comfortable. Nice to have a fireplace. Good breakfast
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Delightful!

Cons: I was OK with the rate I was paying until I was checking in. The desk clerk was on the phone and was offering this person a "walk-in rate" $50 less than I had paid. Was a little upset.
6.0 Good
Pros: The room was clean.
Cons: There was nothing special about this place, especially not for the price we paid. It was not outrageously expensive, however there a much cheaper hotels in the area that have the same to offer. The breakfast is what brought me in, however it really was not that good. I would much rather have saved some money on hotel costs and gone out for breakfast every morning.

Cons: Nothing

4.8 Okay
Pros: We liked the location of the hotel and its closeness to the town and highways as well as the beach walking path.
Cons: There were no extra plugs to charge our devices or phones. The "design" and remodel was still going on and there was constant construction during our stay. They fell short on the design aspect and didn't invest enough on the remodel work.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifil rooms and gardens, very clean and comfortable, great amenities, perfect for families
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Landscaping, evening entertainment
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff couldn't have been kinder to the bride & groom. The guests were directed by staff and always helpful. Very relaxing environment, comfortable walking paths, and the breakfast was always plentiful and hot. Bed was super comfortable, plenty of towels and the bathroom was spacious for the shower, but not tub in the "standard" room. As a local who was here for a friends wedding, I'm very proud to highly recommend this hotel if you're in the area.
Cons: Air conditioning didn't work, but that's not unusual for a hotel near the beach. The open window cooled the room during the night. Wish I had a bathtub, but it wasn't a major priority for me since I was there for only one night and focused on the wedding festivities.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Cabin-like rooms/setting Spaciousness of property Light show at holiday time Breakfasts
Cons: Key negative: WIFI generally not there, both in the room and even in the lobby Mattress was generally good - a little lumpy
7.4 Good
Pros: Pool, breakfast, location
Cons: Didn't have hot water one day, didn't have room cleaned one day.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast included, tons of space.
Cons: Thermostats only adjust the fireplace, not the room temperature.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Loved the continental breakfast and the grounds were great. Easy walking/running distance from the beach and made you feel like you were in the forest near the ocean. The fireplace with the Duraflame log was a nice touch to the very large room we stayed in.
Cons: The hotel room was a bit older and showed its age. But the hotel room was clean otherwise and very comfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice suite. Loved the bed. One of the more comfortable beds I’ve ever had at a hotel. Loved the patio but hated the chairs they provided. Too uncomfortable to sit in. It felt like you were almost laying down.
Cons: Change the patio chairs pronto
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The property has beautiful grounds. We stayed in what looks to be the newer cottages and was nice, spacious, and more private than the rooms in the larger building. The breakfast was great - lots of options!
Cons: The space and layout of the breakfast was cramped. Having the food serving area in a walkway doesn't work, especially for the number of guests having breakfast.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Roomn, gardens, dining
Cons: Staff in lobby were not that helpful and not courteous. Dining staff were excellent. You need to have a gift shop where incidentals can be purchased along with souvenirs.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Great room with view of pines.
Cons: Breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: grounds and garden were beautiful; enjoyed bungalow with patio. proximity to ocean
El Colibri Hotel & Spa - Cambria - Building
8.9 Excellent (529 reviews)
Overview Reviews
El Colibri Hotel Spa is a luxury California hotel that combines the best of a boutique hotel with that of a world-class spa. The hotel is conveniently located near Moonstone beach but retains a secluded, exclusive feel as an escape from the ordinary. Visitors at El Colibri are welcome to just stay at the hotel or only visit the spa, but a comprehensive combo package is the best way to experience this unique destination. El Colibri Hotel Spa has both guest rooms and suites available to stay in. Guest rooms can be reserved in either dual queen or single king layouts, whereas suites offer only a single king option. Both are incredibly comfortable, but the suites offer the added advantage of a separate living area and wet bar. Both types of room layout come with complimentary wifi, Bottega bathroom amenities, soft bathrobes and more. The main reason people visit El Colibri is for the Nest Spa. This amazing spa experience can be enjoyed solo or with someone special. The Nest Spa has several different programs and services to relax guests and reinvigorate them during their stay. Spa guests can enjoy a Swedish massage, aromatherapy, warm stone treatments, and deep tissue massages. Guests can also opt for the Signature treatment, which is an all-day affair of customized pampering using all of the services available. Guests can also stop by the sauna and steam room any time they want, no appointment necessary. Spa visitors will also find an oversized jacuzzi that is ideal for a relaxing soak after a long day.
9.1 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The location and facilities are very nice. I particularly enjoyed their hot tub.
Cons: We were told that there was free afternoon sangria and that the wine bar served wine and bar snacks until 11:30 PM. Neither statement is exactly true. There is free sangria but only until the very limited amount they make runs out – and they refuse to make more even though they have the ingredients available – and the bar only serves snacks until the staff gets tired of making them – which was very much earlier in the evening than is advertized.

4.8 Okay
Pros: Not worth the price asked for the room. You made it look so plush in your computer website, I've traveled a lot in my lifetime and the place was a cheap place trying hard to look good but doesn't quite cut it!! The price per night should have been about $125-135 and not in the $200 range. I have stayed some years back in the cottages next door and they were decorated with opulence reflecting the price you pay.
7.1 Good
Pros: Proximity to ocean, view, hotel jacuzzi outdoors, comfortable bed.
Cons: Functionality of room not good, coffee pot, shower.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Perfect half way point between San Fransisco and LA along the PCH. I'd stay here again, beautiful view of the rocky coast and there are harbor seals that rest on the shore right in front of the hotel. About 15 minutes north their is also a viewing area for elephant seals. The room was spacious, and the bed was super comfy. There is a breakfast but we chose to go across the highway (2 minute drive) to the cute little town to have dinner and breakfast.
Cons: The shower was a tad small and the hot tub was not very hot but those were minor negatives in overall stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent mattress & pillows. Nice decor. Windows on both side let lovely breeze through the room. Good coffee and arm oatmeal for breakfast. Nice outdoor seating & picnic tables with grills. Can't beat the convenience of the board walk entry directly across the street. Well landscaped with nice variety of flowers.
Cons: Noisy upstairs neighbors and no AC or fan to drown out noises or the barking dog that seemed to be alone at midnight. Breakfast could be improved with fresh fruit and warm eggs or waffle.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: It's real close to the beach and boardwalk, (right across the street!), and a short drive to downtown and some great places to eat and drink.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly curtetious staff, cleanliness, location...
Cons: No real dislikes
