beautiful location! good breakfast dated rooms
Very friendly staff, beautiful location overlooking the lake with views on the mountains. Need to book a lakeside room. Real Italien atmosphere. Staff speaks english, french and italien. Super hotel to relax without the children. Speedboot hire and watertaxi over the lake at the hotel. Super! No
Nice position for a good breakfast on the nice balcony, the staff are very kind and the restaurant serve novell cusine, good and tasty, raccomended place!
this hotel had good reviews and it did not fail to deliver. The staff couldn't do enough for us, especially when we were delayed from the airport and arrived after midnight, the official closing time of reception. they not only stayed on until our arrival at 00.30 a.m. but offered to prepare us a supper of delicious hams, cheeses, bread and drinks for a midnight feast in our room. We insisted they added any cost to our bill but it was a life-saver. the hotel was ideally placed for access to the medieval town of Orta San Guillio, other towns on lake Orta and a half hour drive to Stresa on Lake Maggiore. Visitors would need a car as we did not see any public transport. We would certainly return here again!!
Staff very unwilling to give much site-seeing info. Our waiter in the restaurant was very rude. As a result of this, we chose to go elsewhere for dinner the 2nd evenign of our stay.
the fantastic views, friendlyness and helpfulness of the staff and the food in the restaurant The hot drinks machine we had to use at breakfast I could not get a decent cup of coffee
Position,helpfulness of staff and restaurant
Location, Facilities, room & food No
The setting is idyllic and the hotel very comfortable and spacious. The food is quite exceptional and the staff are all multi-lingual and attentive. The area lends itself to sightseeing while being itself quiet and peaceful. We had some reservations about safety in the bath.
The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Bathroom was modern and very well equipped. Everything was meticulously clean. Breakfast was delicious. Hard to find. Room was extremely small for the price we paid. Asked for room with lake view, but had to stand out on the very small balcony and lean over to really see the lake. Parking was extremely tight -- we worried about someone damaging our rental car. Staff seemed a bit indifferent.
Location; pool and terrace; on site parking (at a cost) Room was dark and over-priced; restaurant prices high;
Excellent food and wine. Beautiful location. Hotel is a bit tired. Spa was not particulary impressive either.
Liked the classical decor and minimalist arrangement of the rooms. We had a beautiful lake view from the room.
Nice hotel to relax and enjoy a small lakeside town. Nothing
The hotel staff was excellent, very friendly, polite and helpful. The service was also excellent. The breakfast buffet was very good. The hotel was charming and so was its location. A truly lovely place! Although the hotel and its facilities were very good, some of the rooms definitely need refurbishing, especially the bathrooms.
too much/ too expensive/ lacks charm
beautiful location very quite
Food and helpful staff Staff was unclear about whether or not service was included. [Service was included so it looked like staff was trying to increase their gratuities. Two of three rooms had some plumbing /electrical problems.
Great location with stunning views
A great place, clean nice and luxurious. Extremely friendly staff who gave us a lot of help by arranging transport to the ski resort when our car got stuck in the snow.
Friendly and capable staff, good facilities
Very friendly staff. Excellent location and beautiful accomodation.
Nice Landscape! Enjoy the authentic mountain atmosphere in a very modern comfort!
+ Room was large, very comfortable and clean.Hotel staff was helpful.Sound of river and nature was great. - There was no supermarket near the Hotel. It's better to go in whenever you find the supermarket along the street in ta way to the hotel.
A great place to relax - nice view of Orta lake, clean swimming pool, 2 tennis courts. 3 minutes drive from Orta St. Julio - must see.
Check in, staff, near Lake Maggiore, parking Lack of vegetarian choice on menu, hotel in need of renovation, main area carpets and sun lounges very dirty, very small shower unit, no fridge in room which needed in high temperatures, breakfast was very poor for 4 star hotel, activities offered were far too expensive.
The distance from toe town and there was no local taxi services
great view, friendly 24 hours reception
A lovely relaxing holiday.
nice and comfortable swimming pool, wide garden, access to the lake. Everything very convenient. Lacks a little charm.
The view on the lake is fantastic. Restaurant is excellent none
good location on the Lake. Nice pool and the service was very good and friendly. Wished we had booked another couple of days.
Staff, Parking Paid for upgrade but not told of two weddings being held directly under our room for the whole weekend. Shower unit in bathroom far too small to shower properly. No fridge in room to keep water cold. Menu was very poor and hardly any vegetarian choice, staff member was told off in front of us for booking another restaurant so we could eat. Breakfast extremely poor and very little choice. Pool and area especially sun beds were in a filthy state and starting to look rundown. Not given air-conditioning remote till three days into stay. Hotel starting to look shabby and run down with plaster coming of walls and dirty carpets. All very poor for a 4 star hotel and a huge disappointment to spend a birthday celebration.
Staying on Lake Orta is stunning. The Hotel is in an excellent location, close to Orta.
The owners were very helpful, the staff very good(gave us hot water for tea making -wish Europeans would include this service).Sadly the lovely pool could not be used as it rained.
Position overlooking Lake Orta, Island of Orta and Orta San Guilio itself. A very family run hotel with attentive staff which always makes a holiday memorable.
The situation overlooking the lake, the quality of the internal maintenance and decoration, and the fact that we didn't have to put up with anybody else's taste in pictures on the walls of our room. Nothing except that, in the five days we stayed there, we didn't get to see the sun even once!
The owners were incredibly helpful and were completely welcoming. There was not one question they couldn't answer. This hotel is definitely international as well. The owner speaks English, Italian, FGrench and German fluently. I would most definitely stay here again!!
the view from our balcony was magnificent..a great place to stay while visiting Orta
the breakfast was execelent, there was a good variety of food. the hotel has a good restorant at the sity, "Olina", recommended to visit
Service and breakfast The rooms were not excellent. Furniture on the veranda a little broken, would be nice with a good sitting chair in the room for reading.
Very comfortable, great breakfast, close to train station.
Excellent variety of local produce available every morning for breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and helpfull. The free coffee and cakes was a thoughtful and well used facility. Having to pay for parking at the hotel was poor particularly staying for a week.
Superb breakfast facilities - biggest selection ever seen! Hotel's restaurant in Orta was also superb.
The hotel was clean and the breakfast was very good The walk back up from the central square. There are no footpaths, therefore late at night it can be dodgy.
Reception team is really kind
for italy excellent breakfast , accomodation ok friendly staff no complaints , only thing ; maybe lakeview only from the toprooms
Comfortable bed; good-sized bathroom with great shower; unbelievable breakfasts - the most variety I have ever seen! Nothing
A clean, functional and spartan room.Breakfast was excellent and the restaurant they hotel suggested was also very good. Could not get wi fi to work at al with my netbook (nor could other guests)l but could use the hotel computer.
Friendly staff, clean room, free parking
The staff were friendly and the hotel was located in beautiful area, ideal for relaxing. No
Hotel situated next to nature trail, so nice for short walks through the forest. Close to Lago d'Orta. Great coffee from the bar. Hotel faced directly onto main road. Some decoration very "70s English hotel" so didn't go with the modern building or furniture - doilies under everything, plastic flowers, yellow floor-length table cloths, cloth bows on chair covers. Rooms very nice, but could do with some pictures or photos on walls as a bit sparse.
Very friendly and helpful staff and clean, quiet, modern accommodation You needed a car!
everything exceeded our expectations .. the resturant offered v good food and service. hehe the shower holded did not work well ....room 212 but its a small thing.
A stunning piece of architecture with a real wow factor. Posh without being pretentious. We were told that the very expensive restaurant catered for vegetarians when in reality they tolerated them only. Had a very disappointing main course as part of an otherwise lovely meal.
The Villa Crespi is an architectural masterpiece and a joy to stay at. Sop well appointed and comfortable Slightly too laid back at times so that they took the eye off the needs of the client and a bit pompous in the restaurant
Very elegant and comfortable hotel. Excellent breakfast. Hotel is situated ca 10 minutes walking far from the village.
We found Micheal very helpful, warm and friendly. The rooms were nice, the location is fabulous. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. A part from the lovely smiley girl at breakfast time, we felt the staff in the restaurant were rather surly and not very approachable compared to other michelain starred restaurants we have been to.
very relaxing phone in room did not work
A comfortable room at a good price. Good food in the dining room. The hotel is central with a good view of town and lake Some fittings in the bathroom needed repair, in particular the door. Unfortunately the central position means ltraffic noise at night
Fine a bit difficult to get first time - one way traffic
View from room. Very helpful staff. Good breakfast. No air conditioning.
Friendly Staff, Good food, excellent location right by side of lake, good views of lake and town from hotel room and restaurant. little noisy as haloween was on during stay.
The location was excellent and as described at bookings.com. The breakfast was delicious. The apricot croissant were fabulous.
Well priced room rates. Good hotel restaurant with 15 Euro 3 course menu. Train Station is Omegna 7 - 10 min walk from station Had a room overlooking the town square with the backdrop of the mountains.
Silent, nice, small hotel N/A
The night guard wasn't very serious with handing out the keys of the room. It would be easy for strangers to use our keys... Not safe to leave your belongings in the room!
Location on the lake, very affordable and great quality prix fix menu in the in house restaurant.
Location- adjacent to the town square, on the lake. Restaurant- very good food at reasonable prices overlooking the lake. Room- average size but a small balcony and a view of the lake. Sun decks on 2 floors overlooking the lake You have to pay for WiFi and it only works near the lobby. At breakfast, you have to pay extra for eggs and a refill on hot drinks. Though you can swim in the lake from the hotel, the access was poor.
Lovely location, beautifully decorated, clean as could be, a wonderful breakfast, good beds...and totally charming!
Very nice staff, good service, excellent food. Rooms very noisy, because there are no curtains, carpets or something like that to reduce it.Toilet was very smelly.
Everything was just perfect. We had lovely room, nice staff at the hotel and a fantastic restaurant. We thank you so much for some great holidays.
The hotel is in a beautiful quite position on Lake Mergozzo we were lucky to get one of the apartments with it's own patio, it was nicely furnished and included a kitchen which we were not expecting. Great breakfast, friendly staff. Rather expensive, but good value for Italy.
Good location on the lakeside within a few minutes walk of the very nice town of Megozzo, and only a short drive to the central western shore resorts of Lake Maggiore, friendly service, excellent food.
Our stay at Hotel Ristorante La Quartina was definitely a highlight of our stay in Mergozzo Italy. The location was fantastic and the ambience was very comfortable and homey.
decoration, location. street noise
Superb and large room overlooking the lake (in the main building); very well equipped and large bathroom - well worth the small extra price. Very helpful and attentive staff. Good food in the restaurant although relatively expensive - again worthwhile.
The place is located at a small village near a lovely lack surrounded with mountains, very calm and relaxing (the nearest city is 15 mini drive) . and the restaurant at the hotel is one of the amazing restaurant i got to eat in during my stay at italy nothing the place was perfect
Very comfortable hotel in lovely position close to small town and on the shore of a lake with a beach frontage. Excellent dinner and friendly helpful staff. I had a noisy room overlooking the road --making it hard to fall asleep before midnight.
Helpful staff, comfortable and pleasant room with lovely views, delicious freshly-cooked food using local produce, good wine list.
lovely location high in the valley in the alps .nice pool and leisure facilities the sing posting off the main road is vitually impossible to follow
a nice hotel with wonderfull staff. Rooms are nice and big The aircondition was working very poorly in the rooms
great staff make sure to take the right exit
Excellent standard and very friendly staff, great breakfast
The location of the hotel the restaurant - very big and cold!
Poor location. This is not a hotel i would recommend.
Could find no fault with this hotel. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were second to none. The modern design was very tasteful. Loved the pool and jacuzzi on the top floor giving mountain views.
Quite rooms, free parking, good for a stop over close to the highway, the hotel feels more like a nicely refurbisched motel Hotel staff was unfriendly. The hotel did not meet the expectations to be a designer/SPA hotel. It is nicely decorated but more suitable for a stop-over or a business meeting/conference close to the highway, than for passing some nice days close to the Lago Maggiore. The spa is rather dissapointing as is the breakfast and the location in an commercial/industrial area.
The facilities were generally good: big clean rooms, a nice spa steam room and cooling pool, quality furniture, front desk very helpful (w/ good english), close to town of Vogogna where very good food for very little money can be had next to church in town center. Price was good for 3 people in triple. Had difficulty finding it (is next to freeway, not in Vogogna). Only 6 of 9 TV channels had acceptable reception. Location is far (20+ min) from 'happening' areas along lake coasts. Spa facilities good, but massage and scrub was hurried...not done particularly well. Dinner appetizers very good, but main course underwhelming, esp. for price. Overall, OK, but not great.
