Beautiful, quiet, restaurant on site was great. Loved our cottage and the staff is very helpful and warm!
The pool is very small, but warm and not crowded. There is not much around to do so you definitely need to rent a car.
The staff was excellent!!! They went out of their way to accommodate us. Friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the hospitality. Beach was beautiful. The owners were delightful. Angelo, restaurant manager/owner was wonderful. The receptionist/concierge was so helpful and went above and beyond helping with arrangements.
Nothing. Everything was perfect
The lodging was clean and for the most part comfortable. The beach is part of a large cove, and is pristine. There was no trash anywhere for as far as I could see in any direction. The aircon worked very well, with no problems. The bed was comfortable, and appeared to be king size. There was a tiny pool in the center of the compound that was 5' deep and slightly larger than a hot tub. Honestly.
OK... Let's just get this straight right away. The Restaurant and the Lodging are on the same property but are not managed by the same people, and they do not work together. Breakfast sucked, because It was advertised on my booking as $10. I went the first morning to the restaurant, and asked to avail of the $10 breakfast. The man there told me specifically, that he didn't know anything about a $10 breakfast. You can get breakfast here but it is pricey, as is all the food at this location. Beware... This is not a traditional Bed and Breakfast as you would expect it. I have traveled all over the US, Asia, and Europe. Bed and Breakfast has basically the same meaning. And the facilities are either run by the same people or they are so seamlessly integrated that you wouldn't know the difference. At this place, the first thing that I heard when I checked in was the lodging manager telling me that he does not manage the Restaurant and can not give me any guarantees. I really wasn't here for this property anyway, so I just ignored the restaurant. My daughter was getting married at the Sandals resort. I thought Sandals was too pricey, so I stayed at Paradise Bay (and just got day passes for the Sandals). The walk to Sandals Resort is 1 1/4 miles, and should not be made in sandals or flip-flops, since there is broken glass all along the side of the road. Most of my meals were consumed at the Sandals Resort and not at Paradise Bay (especially after the issues with the management, the first morning I went for breakfast). Please note that when you go to Paradise Bay, you are (normally) committed to eating at the restaurant, because there is no alternative close by. I would have rated the lodging higher, if it had not been that the Breakfast part of the Bed and Breakfast sucked big time.
The place is pretty basic, furnished with Ikea furniture. At more than $350 per night, I'd expect at least a bottle of water in my room. The oceanview (as opposed to oceanfront) cottages are next to the main road. All of this would be fine at $100 per night, but at the prices that the property is charging, can't help but feel shortchanged.
The location of Paradise Bay is very ideal to travel from one end to the other end of the island. Our cottage was very big, clean and modern and it had very a comfortable bed. It had a fridge and enough place to unpack all your clothes. I just wish there was a safe in the room, that was the only thing missing! The restaurant La Fourchette has great options for lunch & dinner as well drinks. Norbert, Sonia and Lee to name a few made our stay unforgettable thanks to their tips and hospitality. There is a parking is you rent a car.
We got a little bit tired of breakfast after 5 nights there (same scramble eggs and toast with jams every morning) so the variety isn't really there but this is only a small negative to us as we understand the limitations of catering to such a remote island.
