This hotel is close to the train station and the staff was friendly and helpful.
The receptionist was multi-lingual and spoke excellent English There was nothing I didliked about this hotel. It was extremely convenient to the central trail station as well as to the downtown shopping area. It has a really fine restaurant.
We chose the hotel for its convenience to the railway station and this was good. Break fast was adequate. Our bedroom was dark and dingy and, frankly, rather depressing, with spartan furniture.
Central location, excellent a la carte menu
This was our best stay in Europe. Very close to train station, though very quiet. Friendly staff and excellent breakfast and dinner!
The staff was very warm, friendly and helpful. The hotel is located a short distance from the train station - a hub for many alpine rail adventures. The buffet breakfast provides a good variety of choices for both the vegetarian and carnivore. Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The decor reminded me of home.
Reception staff friendly and helpful, restaurant staff and food very good.
It was close to the railway station. It was clean and comfortable, and quite typical for an older hotel. We only spent one night so it was adequate for our needs. Smell of smoke.
The new lift! Friendly staff remembered me from previous visit. Very clean and comfortable room. I just like this hotel - it's a nice place to stay and I would recommend it. As others have remarked, there is some updrift of a stale smoke smell from public areas. Switzerland in general could use a smoking ban in public places.
The room facilities were excellent, comfortable, super bathroom, great view, spacious. Hotel easy walk to station, shops, restaurants. Breakfast included. Good for short stay on way through Switzerland. Reception not very helpful on arrival, manned only limited hours. Restaurant closed for renovations but still advertised in room. No alternatives suggested. Wifi not free,
Proximity to station Namesake breakfast and internal facilities also not adequate to qualify for a three star
We liked everything as Location (in front of the Train station), Free WiFi, good staff, the room size, good breakfast. We really reccomend this hotel. We have stayed here twice. nothing.
Proximity to rail station noise
Most informative reception (English speaking). Location 20mins walk from centre of town/station(ost) but not a problem. lovely dining facilities. Possibly 'location not being central, but for the price, this is hardly a problem. Those with mobility issues need to know this, however.
Stayed there before, so owner remembered me, will be going back again soon. Good hotel excellent location, friendly staff highly recommended. No
The reception staff was very helpful spoke good English. Room was nice and big breakfast. Enjoyed our 2 nights stay at Europe Hotel Love everybit of the hotel
The location of this hotel could not be better - immediately outside Brig train station. My room was at the back so I was not disturbed by train movements or announcements. I suspect front facing rooms may have more of a problem. A very acceptable hotel for a short stay in the area.
Pleasant and friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, good breakfast in nice surroundings, convenient for town and rail station
Clean and quiet - that's the most important
A straightforward hotel offering all that was necessary for a short stay in a town where most people will be briefly passing through.
This hotel was fantastic. We really enjoyed the great views and wonderful location. Breakfast was simple and very well prepared. The town of Brig itself is full of hotels but we really felt that we made the right choice staying here. Only downside was that we asked for a double room and had two single beds pushed together. This is frustrating but didnt detract from a wonderful hotel experience all round. Hats off to the owners for also providing great internet and library lounge facilities. Excellent!
The view of the castle from the hotel was perfect. Family room was a strange layout with shower opening directly into the hallway. Didn't like the polyester duvet covers or the stray hairs in the bed. Bunk beds were good for the children but there was no safety barrier on the top bunk and the head space on the bottom bunk was better suited to a young child - our 7 yr old couldn't have sat up in the lower bed.
Very friendly service. Clean and big confortable room. Nice view on the castle and its park. From there, it is easy to walk (3min) to the center of Brig.
Price, free wireless internet access & proximity to downtown
Great location in front of the castle, very friendly and polite staff, good breakfast, clean room and good hotel facilities
Hospitalilty was outstanding
The staff were very friendly and helpful - beautiful little town, near the railway station of Morel, would go back
Huge comfortable rooms with a lounge and kitchen we didn't expect! The food in the restaurant was superb and very well presented with great service. As we don't speak any german it would have been a good idea to have the menu translated into english (reception staff spoke english very well!), or even into french. It was pretty much guesswork what we were ordering (though as already said was excellent food!).
Friendly & Helpful staff -- Great accomodations
The pool is great; the staff are helpful, the location is amazing and the restaurant by the hotel served the best meal we have ever had at a Swiss restaurant.
Access to pool and wellness centre is very good option - rooms are quite large - people are very helpful and friendly - a quite environment - guided tours offered which are well worth doing The hotel is fairly sober and spartan - the bathroom is quite small and the bathtub is very narrow making it somewhat of a challenge to take a shower in particular as the shower head keeps on sliding down the holder and it is impossible to fix - there is breakfast buffet which is very good but dinner needs to be done at the very good food and value for money Tavern 50 m opposite hotel or walking steeply down and up to village of Morel
The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great for hiking the various trails and was a short but steep walk to the train station. Also had a spa that was large and warm. A very good place to return to after a day of hiking.
I liked the polite & nice staff, the spa
Nice Hotel, nice surroundings, beautiful area for hiking, etc.
Left the wrong key for me and I wasnt able to get hold of anyone to correct this.
It was perfect, clean, confortable and the staff was very professional, polite and kind
The owner--he took us under his wing and even prepared breakfast for us and took us to the train terminal. no--there was nothing we did not like.
very comfortable and warm room , the breakfast is sooo good, the ower is quite friendly and talktive basically nothing dislike, only the sheets and the cover are a little old. maybe they can change the new one
Very little. The menu was not what we would have expected at a hotel, e.g. beefburgers. No choice at breakfast.
It's easy to find from Brig railway station, walk about 10 minutes. Too simple and crude furniture in the room, indeed no garbage bin.
Close to centre of town. This hotel is fairly average/basic. Only just rates three stars. One night was enough for us.
Staff were very helpful and the hotel is very close to station but not noisy
Cleanliness, location, friendly staff Not really 3-star in my experience of this level of hotel. Maybe the definition is different in Switzerland. I'd say 2-star but overpriced for that level of hotel.
Nice friendly hotel right by Brig railway station and town centre. The restaurant attached to the hotel was excellent
Location of the hotel. Spacious room. Lack of a nice lounge.
location, bar/restaurant lack of lounge area apart from the bar which could be very smokey
The hotel was very close to train station . All the staff were very plesent. The room and bathroom were of good size .The view of the mountains was lovely to wake up to. The bathroom was a bit dated but of very good size .
Lovely hotel, clean and comfortable. Our room on the second floor had views of the mountains. The room was large and well kept. The bathroom had a bidet. The buffet breakfast was great. This hotel also has a lift. We enjoyed a nice evening meal in the restuarant. The hotel is opposite the main railway station but we didnt hear any noise and enjoyed a good nights sleep.
We stayed at this hotel a number of times. Noticed that the rooms have been upgraded. The station is across the road from the hotel. Bathrooms could be upgraded.
The family maintain a friendly, wonderful hotel in an enjoyable city
the cleanness of the room they are located far from the trainstation and far from the ski area - I would have expected better transport service from a 4 -star hotel because there was none - it had to be taxi or bus which either is expensive or takes a while
friendly and helpful staff. no swimming pool.
We stayed at the hotel a warm summer night, and we did not find the room airconditioner.
It was very clean Yes, weather was too warm and hotel didnt had fan for the customers. Hotel is on the road side and you can not open windows in nights. couldnt sleep on both the nights.
It's not a 4 stars hotel,maybe 3 stars;half of this hotel it's a block of flats.No refrigerators,no bathrobes,no slippers,the TV too small,the food not too good.
Central Location. Clean, comfortable room Reception on evening of arrival not easy to find and staff not over friendly
Excellent eve meal Poor breakfast even for continent
friendly staff, warm cosy rooms , access too brilliant rail system. cleanliness & food good, plenty of hot water.
location was good and restaurant/hotel staff were friendly Fastnacht Festival!! Would like to have known it was on - a beer and DJ tent set up right outside our window - played until 0300hrs apparently - we didn't know for sure - it was so unbearable that we moved to a different hotel for the night (Ambassador in Brig)!
Our hosts were very helpful and friendly and fortunately spoke some English - we knew little German! Our room was traditional, clean and comfortable. The hotel is well situated in Brig, which was rather quiet at this time of year.
The room was pleasant and the hotel stuff polite and helpful. They can improve on the breakfast, it was rather poor.
Good location, a short walk from the train. Nice town surrounded by Alps.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself and the room very dated and there was noise of dripping water in the heating pipes.
Excellent small Swiss hotel, extremely good and helpful staff (even drove me to station when no taxi available in rain!) Good bar/bistro restaurant in hotel. In Naters rather than Brig (about ten minute walk) - ok for me but perhaps not for those with walking difficulties or heavy luggage? Only fair value but this is true for all swiss hotels.
It's in the center and yet quite. The Rooms are clean, staff is friendly and helpful. There was no sheet to cover instead only the duvet. Not comfortable when the temperature in the room is about 30°. The brown tiles are not everybody's taste, however, some rooms had a friendlier bathroom color.
Located near the train station. There is a market nearby. They gave me a fan for my room after I could not stand the heat(no A/C, no ventilation through the one window.)WIFI worked well. Very good breakfast. I had to wait 30 minutes for someone to come from the restaurant and help open my door( no one at the desk). The room was extremely hot.
This hotel served as an excellent base for our trips to nearby mountains, Zermatt and Saas-Fee.
Friendly staff. Good restaurant and breakfast. It is too warm in the rooms during hot summer days. If you keep the windows open it is quite noisy as there is a street.
Big, comfortable room. Clean and pleasant!!
Arrived late as we had delays but experienced no problems. close to train station but quiet.had a triple room for kids
Great Wifi connection and friendly helpful staff!
Very clean - good size room and comfy bed. Excellent restaurant attached and staff went out of their way to be helpful. Good stopver hotel The outside was very tired and not very welcoming. I guess a general refurb is due throughout but it didn't spoil our stay.
Very friendly german waitress. Glorious views - especially from the dining room. Very average cooking (dinner very ordinary, breakfast was fine) and no choice, which for the price we paid made the hotel very poor value. No promotion of local products despite their being a hard-working dairy farmer next door. Bedrooms were expensive considering they were not ensuite (which was not made clear on booking), and the sheets were horrible nylony things.
The hotel is set in a stunning remote location with beautiful views of the mountains and valley below. The Manageress of the hotel could not have been more friendly or helpful and we were very pleased to have stayed there on our journey back from Italy to the UK
view, welcome, clean and comftable bedrooms, powerful shower, excellent breakfast, free wifi. very moderen and cosy if full, not enough showers
Location brilliant! Very friendly staff!
