Everything was comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. We ate two dinners in the restaurant and they were excellent.
The stuff wase very kind and nice. The time of the cleening room was axactly at th resting brake/One day,the first one, they did not cleen the room. The other dayes we stay outside antill they finished cleening' and it takes too long.
First and foremost the staff. The owners, Sylvia und Philipp Moser, who are directly involved in the management, Marcus (reception), Mike (Restaurant) and Manuel (kitchen) deserve a special ovation.
The hotel has local feeling but beautiful style - modern and traditional combined. The sitting areas in and outside the hotel are comfortable and attractive - a great place to sit and enjoy a drink or read a book. The food was fabulous! It was great - just worth noting for those who like to lie in that the church right next door rings its very loud bell at 6am!
Staff very friendly and helpful. When we got back at 22.00 after a longer than expected meeting (and the chef had closed the kitchen) they put together a good cold cuts and cheese collation that we enjoyed plus a nice bottle of wine from their good list. Our room was somewhat spartan (a rug on the floor would be welcome also tea/ coffee making facility).
Staff was very helpfull and friendly, nice interior, good breakfast (fresh fruit!) We missed some relaxing facilities such as a sauna, fitness...
The service, both at reception and in the restaurant was excellent - friendly, helpful and professional. The room was clean and airy. We enjoyed the food in the restaurant - we went to their Paella evening, although prices were high. We would have liked better views - although we had a deluxe room we still overlooked the cemetry and roof-tops before we had a glimpse of the mountains. We should also mention the church bells which rang loudly next door and did interrupt sleep! The town was a bit dead with very little to do and seemed a little 'down market' compared with Luzern.
Good value, interesting location, wonderful scenery. The evening meal in the restaurant of steak on hot plate was very good - one of my favorite meals this year. I would have liked to know there was no tv in the room. We could not check the weather.
This hotel provides a perfect view and mood as this is a traditional switzerland chalet. Feel the switzerland at an affordable price. The building is made of wood, so it was too noisy.
It's infront of the mountain and close to the Engelburg. The hotel address is not correct, so need to be updated, and there's no TV.
everything, esp. cleanness, area around the hotel.. the location is somewhat far from interlaken or lucern, but, if you have a car, that is no problem..you need a gps to locate the hotel
Beautiful and very quiet hotel. The perfect place for relaxation. Not very far from Lucern. Lovely place!
The position of the hotel and the room we eventually got (see below) When we arrived were allocated a room in the annexe, a sort of student-type chalet behind the bus park about a quarter of a mile from the hotel itself. We booked this hotel on the basis of its size and position. Nowhere in the literature is an annexe mentioned, and the whole sales pitch is centered around its location. We complained strongly and were given a proper room for the rest of our stay.
Location, beautiful scenery. Very nice and helpful staff. Clean and spacious rooms. Good breakfast. Internet access unreliable. Only serve dinner until 8:30 and no other restaurants around.
Nice beautiful location and interesting building. Room was small and there was no TV in the room. Noise from the next door was unbearable.
nice view from balcony Parking was inconvenient. Breakfast was basic only
the location and the restaurant staff especially the manager, Martin, who was very helpful
Hotel with a character. Excellent location and view. Pitty that we stayed only one night and had not time to do hiking around.
I've stayed in alot of hotels over the years and this is just the best of any country i've stayed in. Beautiful hotel fantastic friendly staff, Myself and my girlfriend were greeted with a free fruit drink on arrival and treated like royalty. The food is also excellent and very reasonably priced.
location and atmosphere small room, small bathroom
I am so surprised about the location and good service. Good rooms with enought space.
The quadrable family room is very spacious and has grteat view to the mountains and adjacent river. I would go again and again for the sake of that great countryside view if i could next time. It is one of the best i ever been to. The breakfast is a very limited continental with housflies on the table, Also the wireless internet does not work at all.
the best part was the location. the view was very good and it is directly opposite to railway station. Free wifi is available. 1. the plug points are of old type. hence universal convertor did not work. finally manager provided with some plugs which helped us. request hotel managent to do something about it. 2. breakfast options for veg is ver less. that too limited.
Very good hotel for eco-tourism and country-side holidays. The staff is very friendly. A lot of possibilities for walking and biking. Also a good place for calm rest. It seems that the hotel was created for religious pilgrims, but if you are not, it won't be a problem.
The hotel is set in the most beautiful location, the staff spoke English, were very helpful and the rooms were lovely. If you want something off the main tourist trail, with scenic views, but not too far from civilisation, this is the place for you.
Very friendly staff. Car is preferred to get there. Almost no signs how to get there.
Friendly staff and management, very clean, nice breakfast, free car park, all good. Forget to sleep after 6.00 am, the bells nearby will ring every hour till get out of bed.
The hotel had wi-fi through out free of charge car parking was also free the breakfast was basic but OK. The owner was wonderful he reminded me of a a very nice Basil Faulty as there were bells in various places (reception /bar etc ) and every time you rang a bell he was immediately behind you . He spoke good English and was very interested to talk to. The hotel was very clean The rooms were on the small size but had en-suites there was no TV in the room
Second stay, and same good experience. Best value for the money for miles around. I use it for business, but it would also be a good base for tourism in the greater Lucerne area, as long as you have a car.
Very nice, modern smoke-free rooms (mine had a balcony and mountain views), elevator available, good restaurant, friendly staff. Best overall value I have found in Switzerland so far. Some may find the traffic from the village road (farm tractors etc.) and the bells of the church across the street, annoying. The latter seem to be silenced from midnight to six AM, however.
A very nice hotel in a beautiful location. Friendly staff and locals. Room was spacious and the bed comfortable
very nice people nice hotel just as advertisd, very good restaurant, clean tidy, relatively quiet, cant fault it
The variety and quality of the dinner menu although an english version would have helped us make more judged choices
