I wish to make a complaint about FALSE ADVERTISEMENT against the Hilton chain. The Hilton representative has 100% refused to give us our money back after a most dissatisfactory stay at a Hampton Inn & Suites Modesto-Salida. We are filing a civil lawsuit, along with posting reviews on every hotel review site that can be found, as well as making a formal complaint to the BBB itself! This is BS! Double-billed us (took a week to get the charge off our credit card), charged our credit card when we stated (three times!) we were paying in cash, compaint about bathroom fan not working was ignored, $HITTY customer service, hotel manager was either not given our numerous messages (or ignored them unitl corporate called), bed had no pillowtop (so we slept on top of the comforter), food at breakfast was moldy & out-dated, and we've been ignored/dismissed/transferred/hung up on by several Hampton/Hilton reps via email & phone conversations (which I saved and logged). Locked out of our room even with double-billing, and our stuff was gone through! One clerk spoke to us in Spanish when we complained about the financial issue, and would not tell us what she said! So now we have to spend time comparing hotel rates/amenities when making our travel plans, when the only hotel we had ever stayed at was the Hampton. This situation turns my stomach, and is (not?) expected from such a snob / high reputation corporation. UGH!
I was staying in Modesto overnight for business. The filter on the A/C unit had been recently changed per the front desk, but it was blowing black particles all over the floor and bed. They dried vacuuming the A/C unit, but they needed an attachment (which they didn't have) to do it right. Luckily, it all blew out before long and was vacuumed up. Front desk was very friendly and helpful.
