When I arrived, the hot water and the customer service of the staff left for vacation.
Not good for staycations
The location to get to restaurants and shopping was within walking distance and there was a spa onsite.
Parking was bad. Also it was hard to relax, you could hear the neighbors conversations clearly and there was no movies to rent to just relax. Not what we imagined for our staycation.
Nice room, amenities and staff. Probably the highest end hotel in La Jolla. Staff is very accommodating and definitely this is my "go-to" when I stay in La Joalla.
Great after poor initial impression
Loved the person who helped us with check-in. (Troy) Rooms were great, enjoyed the lounge, pool, and games in the pool area. Hotel's in quiet but convenient location. Will stay there again.
Valet gave very poor initial impression. We arrived for check in and the valet asked if we'd valet or self-park. Once he provided the price for each, I told him we'd self-park. He then informed me the area by the front door was for valet and we'd have to move. I told him we were there to register and unload and then move the car to self-park. He got confrontational and said if the car wasn't moved within 15 minutes he'd charge me a hefty hourly rate. I told him I was going to check in and would be back to move the car as soon as we could. He said: "If you're not back in 15 minutes I'll have to charge you." TERRIBLE FIRST IMPRESSION! (We almost asked the manager on duty to cancel our stay.)
Comfort, but not luxury
Spacious rooms, quiet.
The first room we checked into was dirty- hair on bed/pillows. We moved rooms. No amenities like fridge, shower cap, robes, etc. Very basic, simple but nice.. you have to ask for any of the "extras".
Room was very nice and the service was great.
Parking is $25 per day which should be included for the amount of money to stay there.
Beautiful hotel, we loved the lounge bar style and the rooms had a cool look to it. The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially Nico and the front desk. My husband and I enjoyed out quick romantic getaway and loved the proximity of this hotel.
Although the bed was not uncomfortable it seemed that the box spring was broken.
Room is clean
I love the room a lot. It is so clean and quiet at night. Staffs are very friendly
The overnight parking is quite expensive. It is $25 for self parking and $32 for valet.
I loved the hotel over all! It was so very presentable, clean, comfortable, and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
Our parking card didn't work and it was a hassle to get back into the parking and out of it .
I am a single mother with four kids under the age of 10. The kids really enjoyed playing by the pool, the activities the hotel had planned for the kids, the refreshments set out etc. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and quick. Rooms were very nice and up to date. Entire facility was very clean. I would take my children there again. And on the flip side, it seems like a nice place to get away with a spouse.
The ONLY downside was the $25 parking fee
Staff was very friendly, courteous, helpful and patient. Very clean and upgraded!
Parking is kind of a hassle. You have to either self park (which I always do) or valet... self park is not bad, just trying to figure out how to get to the front desk from the parking structure is confusing, if its your first time there.
Practical and cost effective for a week long trip
Excellent location if you are going to be moving around San Diego, as you do on a vacation. Very nice pool facilities. Four excellent high end restaurants right across the street give you a choice of food (sushi, steak, fish, fondue) for business meeting, special family dinner or treating yourself. Movie & shopping mall close.
Breakfast was excellent, but expensive. Take a drive to Harry's in La Jolla for some local color.
