Pros: Everything, the place was very nice. the room was very clean and big, the owner was very very nice, she gave a lift for free and upgraded my room to ensuite with the same price. the kitchen includes everything that anyone needs for cooking. there is a free bicycle to use also.
Cons: nothing really, but I like watching TV so I prefer if the TV was bigger I am not sure if there were English channels I did not search properly, but having English channels will be great.
Pros: Don't be put off by the appearance of the apartment from the outside or the fact that it is on a side street just a few metres from the main road, this is a beautiful apartment inside, lovely spacious rooms, great shower rooms although the shower is compact. lovely kitchen area with friendly helpful owner, plenty of tea and coffee with snacks in the lovely kitchen area, breakfast is provided in a modern café at the end of the road a few steps from the front door of the apartment. great place to stay.
Pros: Clean, good location, good WiFi and air con. Bicycles for use also, which is really useful to cycle to the beach.
Cons: Make sure to look out for parking rules near the property or you will get a ticket.
Pros: Located smack bang in the middle of the delightful Rocca Imperiale .. this place is a credit to our host Francesca. Traditional Italian B&B in a wonderful undiscovered village. Francesca also arranged a table at Palazzo Pucci which was incredible value for money and served some wonderfully fresh and tasty seafood. The local wine is not to be missed. On the morning of our departure she kindly arranged for a tour of the local castle ... spectacular! The room was comfortable, Wi-Fi great and the village was at your door. Parking was easy just 50m walk from the B&B. Have a drink in the local bar and take a walk around this beautiful village .. say hi to the locals .. they're lovely people.
Pros: in interesting medieval city..really nice hostess..very acconodating..cool refurbishd old building
Cons: bed was too soft..we rolled to the middle..little noisy as main street outside window
Pros: Location,Decor, Shower
Pros: Casa Incantata was a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in a remarkable historical town. We’ve never stayed any place quite like Rocca Imperiale, and highly recommend it.
Pros: Great location. Room with balcony overlooking the "main" street. Good (but still italian) breakfast - much more than cafe with croissant. Public parking not far away
Cons: turning on the heating/air conditioning
With a stay at B&B Sant'Elia in Alessandria del Carretto, you'll be 18.3 mi (29.4 km) from Pollino National Park and 18.5 mi (29.8 km) from Lake Monte Cotugno.
Pros: This is the real deal - a country town of 3-400 inhabitants who speak beautiful Italian and interact as if they are one family, one team, helping each other out. We arrived from San Costantino Albanese on a mountain road that makes even the locals hold their breath and cross fingers they won’t have to turn around at some point because the road has fallen away. (There is a more sane approach but we weren’t buying it). Our host Antonio couldn’t meet us but his colleague MariaGrazia did, and her friend Giulia. They made us very comfortable with appetizers and wine. Antonio arranged for Giovanni and Maria to drive us to their ostello for dinner, where Angela was waiting also. Giovanni is the owner and chef. He prepared wonderful antipasti typical for the region, cured meats, peperone crusche in several preparations, bruschetta, ecc. and pasta with funghi. Fabulous. Our host Antonio will come in the morning and after breakfast we’ll meet more people in this wonderful mountain town at the wifi hotspot where everyone gathers. Can’t wait. Yes, you want to speak Italian here! Yes, this is for adventurous tourists who like to rough it - weather can impact one’s experience. Next morning: Antonio made a beautiful breakfast for us. The scenery descending to the coast was amazing. Next few days: the memories are amazing of the uniqueness of place.
Cons: The place is cold in cold, wet weather, though the heaters were working all through the night. This is true in in the country in Calabria generally.
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. It was low season when we stayed here, but our host arranged diner for us at 2 places that specially opened for us. Our contact person also recommended an easy hiking route that was a 10 minute ride by far.
Pros: My stay at Sant’Elia was excellent! The location is central and the rooms are cozy, with true Italian flavor! Breakfast was amazing and everything was freshly made from local farmers; you can really taste the tradition in every bite. Antonio the owner was helpful with everything; checking in was a breeze, and he even showed some of the local places to visit while staying there. Would highly recommend this b&b as it made my experience in south Italy unforgettable.
With a stay at Il Terrazzo sul Sinni in Rotondella, you'll be 31.5 mi (50.6 km) from Pollino National Park and 9.6 mi (15.4 km) from Policoro Oasi WWF.
Pros: The staff were very very helpful and nice. The kids' park was great.
Cons: Dinner was quite expensive
Pros: Really romantic location in the mid of gardens and vineyards. However, navigation does not know the spot, so it not so easy to find. The given address drove to another location, which was luckily enough 15 driving minutes away. The host speaks only Italian, so either you speak it or can quickly draw.
When you stay at B&B La Poesia in Rocca Imperiale, you'll be 3 minutes by foot from Castle of Rocca Imperiale. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: About 10 minutes drive to the beach (mixture of pebbles/sand)which has been modernised with promenade, cycle paths, lots of free parking and was tranquil even in July. Nice town. Apartment of about 4 modern, clean rooms is within a short walk of the beautiful, restored hill village of poetry and lemons with its 12th century castle, churches, couple of restaurants etc. The blue room was peaceful, located with the other rooms which are reached down a metal staircase from the car parking beside the road. Room was cool and quiet in the summer heat. Enjoyed the Dante poetry on the wall. Useful large fridge in communal kitchen, stove and even tea bags. Little suggestion - small kettle, a headboard on the bed, 2 bedside tables, chairs on the balcony. Lovely owner - thank you for our 2 night stay, we would like to return one day.
Cons: Crossing the upstairs apartment’s balcony to go through their gate to get to our car felt a bit awkward.
Pros: Rocca Imperiale was a fascinating little hilltop town and surprisingly in the evening there was lots of street entertainment as we explored the little streets.. We enjoyed our night here and our accommodation at La Poesia was great. The host was very helpful.
Pros: Delightful, helpful, friendly hosts. Clean room. Easy private parking. Good location in a charming hilltop village.
Cons: The bed was a bit hard.
When you stay at DOLCEDORME BED AND BREAKFAST in Terranova di Pollino, you'll be 1 minutes by foot from Pollino National Park. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and refrigerator in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: We loved our stay there. We arrived a bit late and the host was very welcoming taking the time to explain where we can go and hike. The place is very cosy, comfortable and very clean. Parking just across the place and its centrally located in the town. We wished we stayed longer in Terranova as the area is just so beautiful. We will definitely come back and we highly recommend this place. Thank you again for your kind hospitality.
Pros: Nice location, helpfull host and friendly people in the village. Superb and beautiful montain View
Cons: Koldt når solen går ned
Pros: Our host was very knowledgeable about the National Park and hikes in it. He directed us to a terrific hike.
Pros: Large comfortable room. Good breakfast with fresh fruit
Pros: Centrally located in a charming little mountain town. Very comfortable and large room with a great view over the mountains. Kitchen equipped with everything we needed. Host Vito was great and very helpful, even when we had trouble with our flight and reservation.
Cons: Nothing, except having to leave.
Pros: Host was excellent, very friendly and could not have been more helpful.
Cons: Our room was a bit dark and old fashioned. However we were able to use the kitchen which was more comfortable
Pros: Very friendly and helpful host, great views, simple but comfortable and spacious room
When you stay at B&B Romantico in Noepoli, you'll be 10 minutes by car from Lake Monte Cotugno.
Pros: The room was large with 2 lounge setees and nicely decorated with lovely embroidered sheets.. In the centre of town within walking distance to 1 or 2 eateries. The town is set high on a hill with stunning views of the countryside. Very quiet.
Cons: Firstly, the street number was not the correct one. We had difficulties finding the place and asked a young child who directed us to the right location. When the owner arrived and we discussed the amenities, he did not mention the breakfast even though it was supposed to be included. When we asked he suggested we have breakfast at a local place. We asked if he could bring the breakfast at 8.00am which he did. But we felt that we shouldn't have had to ask. Also the hot water ran out when we were having a shower.
Pros: The room was clean. The host helped us with the luggage.
Cons: The room was in the basement, and we had to walk down very dangerous steps with no railing. Therefore, we stayed in the basement and had to have dinner delivered. The host asked if we wanted breakfast or would we be going to a cafe for breakfast. I wonder why this is called a Bed and Breakfast!
Pros: The accommodation had lot of space. Owners had thought of small details, like candles, stocking kitchen with some products (included) like: beer, coffee, drinking water, e.t.c Very welcoming host, although he had very low English skills. Price per value- SUPERB. Also thumbs up for quick reaction. We booked around 20:00 and arrived at 21.00. As its low season there I were really worried, if they have seen booking, but everything went smooth and soon owner contacted me on whatsup! :)
Cons: The address! The location they gave us was some point of interest in village and we had to wait until someone comes and takes us to the place. Had a feeling, that I could have found it also on my own. Breakfast was served in cafe not far away. That place I didn`t like.
Cons: In no case do not have to go on the old road - a very steep climb for a car with a small motor
Pros: The thoughtfulness of the hosts, the facilities, the location, the cleanliness.
When you stay at B&B Casa Miraglia in Chiaromonte, you'll be 11 minutes by car from Pollino National Park.
Pros: Superb bedroom with an excelent view, breakfast and coffee machine-love it. Great location, nice street, close to the center.
Cons: Bathroom could be more clean. In general it is, but could be better if all the rest is superb.
Pros: Awesome stay in Chiaromonte! The house is big and the bedrooms really confortable! The host is really nice and provides a good breakfast! Great location with beautiful view!!
Surrounded by green hills, this traditional stone-wall farmhouse is a 10-minute walk from the shores of Monte Cotugno Lake. Its restaurant serves homemade specialities with locally grown products. Agriturismo La Masseria offers rooms and apartments with countryside or garden views. They come with air conditioning, fridge and private bathroom with hairdryer. The manor farm includes a swimming pool and a volleyball court. Guests can relax in the reading room or enjoy archery shooting. Free bicycles are provided for exploring the area. La Masseria is 3 km from Senise city centre. The Ionian coast is a 50-minute drive away.
Pros: Veronica looked after us very well. Room is very traditional. Beautiful pool with views of the lake. We had their dinner option both nights and enjoyed the fresh homemade produce. Very tasty. Would be a very nice venue for a wedding or event as well as a weekend get away.
Pros: The appearance of the building and pool.
Cons: Nothing in the area of the hotel and nothing to do at night. The place was extremely poor isolated. We could hear everything from other rooms.
Pros: Swimming pool. Breakfeast
Cons: Eveything was excellant
Pros: Pool and views
Cons: Fantastic premises, so much potential, but appeared unloved and suppressed. Check in consisted of being shown to our room whilst arrivals who were interested in a booking for presumably a private party were shown around the grounds and pool. Arrived Fri eve to find restaurant closed apparently only opens sat and Sun. Veronica did however offer to make a meal for us. Masseria so expected own grown produce- cheeses and aubergine at the evening meal were excellent , but breakfast was extremely poor even for a continental breakfast. Packet croissants, pkt biscuits, pkt toast, insipid grapes, yogurt, but excellent home made cake and jam. Plastic cups to drink out of, table not laid really unwelcoming. Bed so hard you could knock on it. Air conditioner sounded like a tractor. So loud we had to eventually turn it off. Large wardrobe, but no coat hangers and informed Non when made enquiry. Veronica was helpful upon making enquiries, but other than this no other engagement or interest in guests from family / owners. No interaction regarding local area, or facilities. More attention to detail regarding cleaning of shower heads and window enclosures. Great pool , but did not observe pool cleaner in operation over 2 day period. Worst hospitality out of the 7 places we stayed in during our 11 day visit.
Cons: Bed could have been more comfortable.
Cons: Contrary to the booking information and also their website there is no dinner offered. Finding a reasonable restaurant in nearby Senise is not easy. Property lacks hospitality. Farm experience inexistant. We left after one night.
Pros: Veronica and her staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. Fantastic location of the Masseria, high above Lake Cotugno, with on-site restaurant and swimming pool.
Cons: On some days the restaurant was not open for evening dinner and/or there were few eating at that time. Need to vary the menu a bit.
Pros: The room was actually a family apartment with a living room and kitchenette. The location, comfort, staff etc was all 5 star.
Cons: The facility does not serve meals, only uses dining for functions. But they do supply everything for a continental b breakfast. So, this is self catering for other meals. What was lacking then was a microwave, although the kitchenette is fitted with a gas hob. Besides that, all 100% plus!!
Pros: Breakfast was very good. The lady who served us was really friendly, trying to do all she could to serve us. I think it is better to ask for 2 rooms instead of a flat. The separate rooms have a terrace. The flat is not a "plus". Only one toilet, in the bathroom and the kitchinette is really tiny. No corkscrew and not many utensils.
Cons: We had a flat for four, with 2 rooms. Unfortunately it rained a lot and we had to stay inside. The living room was VERY DARK. We could hardly read a book because there were only 2 "poor" lamps! We also had to ask for glasses. The lady at the reception tols us that we had to buy a bottle of wine if we wanted to have wine glasses. BUT, I must admit that when we paid the bill she said it was offered by the hotel. Maybe because there was a lot of noise during the 3rd evening ...until 1 am( party) The lady at the reception tols us that she would send us the receipt for the payment through booking...but we haven't received anything yet!!
Pros: Beautiful scenery from the pool area towards the lake. Dinner in a romatic atmosphere with local well prepared ingredients.
Cons: Nothing to complain...

An Italian breakfast of croissants and cappuccino is provided daily. Free on-site parking is provided. Rocca Imperiale Marina on the Ionian Coast is a 1-hour drive away.
Pros: We were met by a lovely lady who was very accommodating.
Cons: It was too cold.
Pros: Nothing special.
Cons: Breakfast was terrible. It was packaged pastries and juices. No fresh fruit, juices, cheese or meat. I would never stop there again and do not recommend it to anyone.

Pros: Accommodations were comfortable.
Cons: Would like to see dish washing supplies provided to encourage proper cleaning of dishes.
Pros: Nothing it was terrible and totally overprice
Cons: This place is horrendous unless you have three screaming kids and like school canteen food
Pros: Great italian hospitality. Thank You guys - Patricio, Vito, Giovanni, Guzeppe, Vincenzo and Felippe! Sorry for whom I forgot to mention.
Cons: Slept in a hotel room for only one hour and in that hour entered mobile pin number wrong three times. Grappa killed me

When you stay at Hotel Villa Del Lago in Senise, you'll be 8 minutes by foot from Lake Monte Cotugno. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The hotel is well placed for a stop-over (before heading west and uphill towards Calabria) and the manager was kind enough to find a place inside the hotel for our bicycles to keep them safe. Looking at the map, the hotel appears to have a charming and slightly out-of- town lakeside proximity, which was probably the case many years ago but the area now is one of light industry and commercial units, and the town is just too far away to walk to along a bleak and busy road with no real pavement. There is however a good supermarket within walking distance.
Cons: Noise from another room. This was probably due to less than adequate soundproofing and guests unfortunately unaware of the loudness of their own voices - both together a lethal combination.
Pros: A convenient waystop. The host was very helpful but it is a fine clen business persons hotel in a small town in the south of Italy. Parking was excellent and the restaurant was fine.
Cons: The hotel was not on the lake; calling it a Hotel del Lago is a gross misnomer, and it is certainly not a Villa. Google maps sent us to the wrong place; right in the middle of an industrial estate. This needs fixing! We weren't far away but we might as well have been.
Pros: The man at the desk was helpful.
Cons: The lighting in the room was terrible. Wifi didn't work in the room. Food in the restaurant was not good. Hotel is surrounded by industry. Hardly a view of the lake.
Set in Roseto Capo Spulico, B&B Rosa dei Venti offers accommodation with free WiFi, air conditioning and access to a garden. The bed and breakfast offers a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with a hairdryer, free toiletries and bidet. B&B Rosa dei Venti offers a buffet or Italian breakfast.
Pros: My stay at the B&B was beyond beautiful. The house is spacious and luxurious, great taste of furniture, comfortable bed, everything spotless and tidy. I was greeted with lovely hospitality, perfect service throughout my stay. The breakfast was tasty, I almost felt at home and as well included but the same time had my peace - which to me is the perfect mix. The nature in the area is incredible! Uphill a wast peaceful mountain view, scents of lemon and flowers, sounds of cow bells somewhere on the other side of the hill and a charming old village on top - whereas downhill you find a breathtakingly shimmering turquoise sea, an old castle with delicious food, flowers, palm trees and an endless beach! It was so beautiful that I spontaneously decided to extend my stay. One evening the family took me to another village for holiday festivities so I could experience the Calabrian lifestyle first hand. I travelled across Italy for months but never will I forget the time at Roseto Capo Spulico. I recommend staying for a couple of days to experience and take in all the beauty. But of course even a day will make you happy. A big thank you to the family for a perfect stay at the B&B! I will gladly return.
