I stayed at the Marriott almost a week. Lovely hotel on a lovely beach. Yalong Bay is easily the nicest beach in China. As with every hotel in China, especially Sanya, English is limited, but usually good enough. Overall, staff is quite friendly. I liked the bright colors of the room, unlike Hilton next door. Marriott definitely has the best gardens compared to its neighbors. The front garden is especially nice for a walk or jog. I highly recommend this resort and this destination to all.
The location Is good. The beach is good.It is one of the best around the area.Hotel restaurants are satisfactory. The grout around the tile and sink/basin are filled with mildew. We did not get the type of room we reserved. After communication with the front desk, we moved to theright room but it took half a day for the switch.
Sanya was lovely, have to admit I was highly dubious about the China of Haiwaii, however as soon as we landed the island was lovely. We took a taxi to the Marriott which took around 45 minutes, 120 RMB. Check in was relatively smooth, we were given some cute shell necklaces as soon as we arrived. Staff speak english although it's a bit limited, not 100% but you can communicate mostly. The rooms were a good size, we had the mountain view which was lovely, balcony which was nice and good to sit out to catch the breeze. Bathrooms very clean and big with a good shower and seperate bath. I highly reccomend the Vietnamese Restaurant in the hotel and suggest going nextdoor to the Sheraton for drinks at night as they have a great singer and much better atmosphere over there. The pools were good, bit chilly however there is a whirlpool which'll warm you up. Gym and spa also very good-note the massages in the fitness centre are half the price of the spa at 300RMB and we had full bosy massages twice and they were very good. We hired a driver for 8 hours who took us out in a van and endlessly sold tourist destinations to us, my advice plan a route and stick to it, don't take suggestions as they take commission.
the room and staff were very wonderful, made our stay most enjoyable, also have many things to do, so it was very nice, even though it rained very much when we where there 1) room service dinner took over an hour, 2) i think a detailed map of the facility, with location of every thing that we can do would be very helpful, 3) i think to have a shuttle bus that goes to city, or various locations nearby, and comes back at some time, would be good service to have, we got our own taxi and just when and did things, but not everyone has a chinese perosn with them to help like this. 4) i wanted to go water skiing, but for some reason didn't see this, maybe due to rain?
the location is perfect to relax in. great place for vacation with family or partner. love the design of every single place at the hotel. great pools, very nice beach. Hspa was very nice - i believe people should at least understand more English. hate the 15% service everywhere. think its not an international state of mind and does not worth it! price should include those 15% in or not at all. especially in the spa, where you come to be spoiled and get the perfect service!
The Pool and the Scenery 1-Hotel had agreement with a few public Taxis and would charge the guests 3 to 5 times more than what would Taximeter show as the real fare. Unfortunately guests had no choice but paying such a unfair price, since hotel management would not allow other taxis enter the Hotel premises.
My wife and I went to Sanya for our honeymoon. Loved it. Pullman is awesome. Fantastic swimming pools, the breakfast is awesome, the dinner buffet was awesome and the rooms are great. Loved the whole place. The staff is very attentive and sweet. We really enjoyed our time in Sanya. The beaches are gorgeous. We went to Yalong bay, and some other awesome places. The local fruit and other food is insanely good! Do your homework on good restaurants and don't get ripped off. A great time can be had in Sanya, lovely place. All of the Pullman food was quite exquisite, except on one night when we went to their Cantonese place. It was OK but very overpriced for the quality. WAY better stuff can be found off the beaten path. Do some hunting and find some of the truly spectacular places that are around. Also I suggest hitting up some of the cool history tours that are there.
