Pros: Yvonne welcomed us very hospitably. Wonderfully renovated old building - cozy, comfortable and beautifully designed. Very well equipped kitchen which we were kindly allowed to use.
Cons: The bathroom should be heated.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location was nice and had front had a nice view of the river and landscapes. The staff was nice and let us use the kitchen even though we weren’t really supposed to but arrived late. Anna was extremely kind and generous to make sure we had a great breakfast.
Cons: The outside was a bit muddy. It had rained that day before. The second floor bathroom shower was awkwardly shaped but my BF says the downstairs bath is great.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We spent two nights in a clean room with a shared bathroom. Our hosts welcomed us nicely and gave us a house tour. One can use the very modern and clean kitchen for cooking which was excellent. The breakfast was good. We can definitely recommend this accomodation and the area of Iceland.
Cons: It's complaining on a high level: we had to wait ca. 15 minutes for the check-in even after arriving the check-in time

Pros: Very peaceful, Absolutely stunning surrounding, rooms decorated in simple modern style and clean.
Cons: No wifi
7.9 Good
Pros: Located on a beach completely alone. A beautiful solitude Place. Rooms are completely new and very nice furnished. Great beds! The view is breathtaking. Except from the birds and the sea there is no sound.
Cons: Takes about 10-15 Drive from the main road on a bad gravel road to reach the place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! the building, host and of course the surrounding nature was beyond what i expected!
Cons: nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was at the end of a three mile unpacked road, down the hill to the water’s edge with waves crashing over the rocks onto the shore. The host provided a sumptuous feast for breakfast to our table of couples from around the world. We lingered for breakfast and conversation much longer than we had planned
Cons: You need to eat dinner before you go or it’s back and forth over that 3 mile unpaved road and another 20 miles to the other side of the fiord
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location and really nice host. So peaceful with wonderful bird life.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We are experienced travelers who have seen much of the world, but seldom enjoyed a hospitality experience equal to a night at the Kolkuos Guesthouse.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the most remote places we stayed in 10 days in Iceland. Like the setting of a Jane Austen novel. Magical, private, quiet, beautiful. We had the rare fortune of being the only guests the night we stayed and felt like we were transported to another charming world.
Cons: Be aware its a 10 minute drive off main road on rough gravel. Nothing around for miles so plan ahead and eat before or bring your own food. Otherwise, it's perfection.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautiful and full of modern updates. The beds were comfortable and the common areas were nice to have and be able to use. It felt like staying at a friends really nice home and the owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. He does not stay on property, so you are alone at night and have use of the living area and kitchen. It was very remote so it was peaceful and you could hear the birds and ocean waves from the windows when they were open which was very nice.
Cons: I feel like the room was a little over priced considering the location. And getting to the property is very difficult. Google maps will not take you here...you have to use apple maps in order to actually find it. The house is off of a 4 mile gravel road full of potholes and ridges and has no lights for the night time. You have to take it very slow and I would not have booked this location if I had known because we did not have a 4x4 and it took forever to get there because we had to drive so slowly. There are 2 towns sort of close by but each one is at least 20-30 minutes away so I would take food and whatever else you may need with you. After driving to one of the towns and finding the grocery and all restaurants already closed at 7, we had to drive another 50 minutes to get to the town in the other direction from the house. If it were not for this gravel road and the remote location, I would highly recommend this property. If you are looking for something secluded, this place is for you.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice common areas and a good breakfast. The room has everything you need and is clean and modern. The staff was nice and had an antra power adapter available which was helpful.
Cons: It would be nice to have a comfortable chair in the room. When traveling as a couple, we want the ability to relax in our own room, rather than having to go to a common room. A TV in the room would be nice as well. We got in late from site seeing, and so it wasn’t a problem.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good bed and linens. Good breakfast.
Cons: The hot water has a very slight sulphuric smell.
4.2 Okay
Cons: Overpriced bare bones dorm room with drafty windows and sagging beds. Shower in tiny space behind bathroom door with no shower tray so wets bathroom floor.

Pros: Great peaceful location on a farm in the middle of nowhere with great views over the fjords towards snow capped mountains. Whales can be seen in the fjord, due to the remote location, good views can be had of the northern lights if you are lucky with weather/ activity. Friendly host who is keen to ensure you enjoy your stay. Unfortunately we only stayed one night so didn’t have time to visit the hot spring pool just up the road from the apartment.
