Great location, short walk from the station and in front of one of Schwerin's beautiful lakes. Really helpful and friendly staff and the food in the restaurant was top class. This is the place to go if you want to treat yourself to a bit of luxury for a nice stay in Schwerin.
Lovely location and friendly hotel
The staff was very helpful and friendly
I found the bath dangerous. the lendge was too wide and the bath was too slippery, I had difficulty getting out of the bath safely. I did mention it to the the reception staff.
The decoration in the rooms and throughout hotel was a traditional design which I really liked. The location was excellent for exploring Schwerin and the surrounding area. The secure car park was great. The staff were always friendly and helpful at reception and in the restaurant. The meals in the restaurant were a high standard.
There was a little confusion when we booked in as I had booked a room with two beds (for me and my son) but we were give one double bed. When I told the reception that I needed two beds, we were given a family room.
We received a large suite in the apartment building next to the hotel. Large bathroom and lovely bed. It was on the first floor overlooking the lake. While a bit old and a little worn, we were very happy with it.
A faint smell of stale cigarette smoke, but that is almost unavoidable in Germany.
We had 3 dinners during our week's stay which were excellent. However, the choice of menu was very limited, which meant that we had to eat out on the other evenings.
The terms of our booking did not include breakfast. We had breakfast on only 3 days of our week's stay but were charged for 7days. This was rectified when I compained. Also, the booking for our stay in September was made in January, on arrival we were allocated a room in the hotel's annexe on the second floor without a lift. On complaint, we were given a very nice room in the main hotel.
