The view of the glacier is not to be missed!
Nice hotel. Very good restaurant. No problem at all with Herad Hotel. However, I had to change a reservation at the next stage (Edda Hotel in Höfn) and it was total chaos. The central office sent me a confused reply saying they could not change the reservation for a reason that was totally wrong (they claimed incorrectly that I had booked through an agency, email from Edda Hrönn of 20.07.2009, time 12:21). I called the hotel and explained the situation. However, the confusion caused by the central reservation office ended up in an erroneous cancellation (rather than amendment of the reservation). At our arrival in Höfn, there was no room available. Luckily, the receptionists in Höfn did their best (they were very kind!) to arrange an emergency accomodation (which was by necessity below the expected standards).
Spacious room. Shops at walking distance.
it was great no
Comfortable bedding and decent views of the town. There was no free Wi-fi, which I thought was absurd since everywhere else in Iceland there was free Wi-fi...even hostels.
Comfort in the room Not free internet connection, Bread at the breakfast was dry.
Excellent food, great staff and overall a good stay.
Modern hotel. Good choice at breakfast. Moved room when we pointed out broken curtain rail,, but only because of a cancellation. Allocated room had broken curtain rail resulting in no black out facility. Room we moved to was for disabled access and not as nice a bathroom finish.
Comortable. Staff readily changed our room which was over heated. Very impersonal for the independent traveller like us. More used to handling large coach parties.
Nice staff, excellent location with nearby restaurants, excellent for for staying overnight. Poor breakfast
It was hard to look for it because displayed names were different.
The bed was comfortable and breakfast was very good
Beautiful, picturesque little town at the head of a fjord, and without the Hotel Aldan, it would be a lesser place. They've been creative in taking old buildings and converting them into lodging and restaurant (which was perhaps the best feature with some excellent dining). The place needs updating, seems rather worn. The wireless internet hardly worked most of the time. When the Costa Fortuna cruise ship docked and disgorged its thousands, it looked like a scene from The Walking Dead: zombie-like people aimlessly standing and strolling outside the hotel with the goal of connecting to its unrestricted wifi. For those of us who were paying guests, that degraded our access.
the beautiful view from thr window too expensive
Staff were very friendly and helpful- srted out further Edda Hotel bookings. I would recommend this hotel highly- a little out of the way but a lovely place to stay. Excellent food too!
very nice and friendly staff, good dinner facilities under expectation, difficult acsess (mountain road, lost of time)
beautiful location, good service too much noise
Very helpfull staff
