rooms were nice and food was excellent.would stay at rendez-vous again
Room at back of hotel, overlooking barges and wildlife
The friendliness of the staff . .efficiency, local for all good ammentities . .and wonderful food. I stay at the Rendevous very regular . .ie . .once a week . . fortnightly, monthly. depending on my business arrangements. I have always had a very pleasant stay. Thank you.
The room was large and fairly clean and the location was very good for us. We arrived at 13:50 but had to wait until 14:30 for our room to be prepared for us. The sheets were not changed after our first night. Although the room seemed clean there was an odd smell, maybe from the carpet. The breakfast service was very poor - slow and we had to request a change of tables because of a large stain on the tablecloth.
the service from staff was very good, professional and satisfactory the bed in our room was a little soft and due to that and the cold my wife and I have suffered a stiff shoulder, therefore you could maybe update the bed in that room..
Well organised reception and a super view from the restaurant over the canal and countryside. Spacious clean rooms. Disappointed that the restaurant could not accommodate us for an evening meal during our stay.
use the leisure complex.relax in the room. control of shower.too hot
Good base for travelling around the Yorkshire Dales. The room was clean and the beds comfortable.
The hotel was easy to find and had a relaxed atmosphere. The amenities were well maintained. The hotel was fine however, the mattress was old and uncomfortable.
ideal position for touring the yorkshire dales. adequate car parking, helpful & efficient friendly staff.
Scenic location. Attractive building. Small room and bathroom. Claustrophobic use of dark brown wallpaper. No luggage rack. No trouser press. Iron and board only available on request.
The service was fantastic the tennis court is in poor order and in places is dangerous the loose grit beyond the base line could cause an accident
Very relaxing and a welcoming atmosphere. We ate in the Brasserie both nights of our stay and the food and service were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and we were very impressed that the head waiter at breakfast knew our names as soon as we appeared both mornings. Our stay was not long enough!!
A general attitude of 'wanting to help' from all the staff
A very peaceful and relaxing stay and a beautiful part of England
The open log fires, the lovely room, the spa and the service were all excellent. I thought the bar prices were high.
This hotel is very special and everything is seamlessly faultless. Our only minor criticism is that the bath was quite small and due to the location of the shower screen it was difficult to reach the taps.
Everything, but it would have been nice to have a choice of another bar with food served. We liked everything
The ambiance of a country house was very pleasant and still quite relaxed and non- stuffy Staff a little stiff at times but still quite helpful
The attention to detail was excellent. The staff are all top class. A beautiful place to escape to in beautiful surroundings.
The location Poor value for money. The en suite was very cramped. The walls of the room were dirty and the carpet was stained. Not worth nearly £100, even for the location. Not enough staff to cope with demand at evening meal and breakfast. We waited half an hour for a hot drink with our breakfast.
welcoming, friendly staff and a wonderful location in the Dales our room had the smallest en-suite I have ever used
Pretty location, albeit wasted on a business trip! Food was only okay. Not as good as I would have expected from how the place is marketed.
Lovely room, comfortable bed, well cooked breakfast, welcoming log fire. Internet booking site said Lister Arms was 3.1 miles from Grassington and it turned out to be nearer 10 miles and took about half an hour to get there. Information should be corrected on the internet. My booking confirmation was for £70 per night but was charged £90. However there was no problem in getting a refund but there must be a gremlin in the system.
Lovley village great walks nice people None
Pleasant environment; good food; great position for walking in spectacular countryside. Welcome was a bit off putting....kept waiting because computer was down; wasn't sure if booking was in place initially.Staff had to go out for milk for coffee after evening meal!! No hash browns as stated on breakfast menu for two mornings running....no mention made of this until we asked on first morning....black pudding offered as an alternative on second morning!
It was a clean friendly hotel central and comfortable one I intend to return to well done None
Good location as a base for walking. Room nicely refurbished in contemporary style but retaining original features/character. Good ensuite with excellent shower. Main bar area is a little tired and unwelcoming however attractive restaurant serving a good selection of well prepared food. Whilst the staff were friendly and helpful they appeared to be understaffed on the evening of our arrival. On the second night we felt rushed through dinner although it was only 9.00pm
Comfort and Location No
Although I booked an alarm call in writing at registration, I did not get one.
The hotel was near the railway station and convenient for touring the Yorkshire Dales. The breakfast menu had a good selection of hot meals, as well as continental breakfast, including fresh fruit.
room with canal view Room was a bit stuffy through night
warm, clean, freindly staff, good meal, good parking. noisey radiator
position, car parking, food very noisy kitchen and early morning brewery delivery
good food real ale good sociable staff very close to rail station warm and comfortable
Excellent staff, I hope they are appreciated. We travel a great deal and many a place has been spoilt by surly staff. The stairs. My own fault we were in rooms 12 and 9 and I have a breathing problem. I will remember next time to ask for a room accessible by lift.
Ideal for the railway station The description of the Superior Room was not what I got. It said LCD TV and larger bathroom the TV was very poor, but overall I was satisfied and would definitely stay there again.
Pleasant bar and restaurant Good size room There is no lift, and quite a lot of stairs to climb
I enjoyed the clean, comfortable accomadation. The location is particulary nice. N/a
The food was excellent and the manager and staff were extremely helpful
Stunning location and beautiful hotel
Good-sized room, good facilities, helpful, friendly staff, excellent food, lovely relaxed atmosphere, great views, good standard of cleanliness. Only very minor points really. a) The smart CD/radio in our room didn't pick up any radio stations (no CDs to play either). B) No local walking maps available at reception, contrary to what's said in the 'Welcome Pack'.
fantastic surroundings, great contemporary decor in an old surrounding, and very efficient and friendly staff with a personal service nothing
Incredible scenery; friendly staff My room (#2) was looking a little tired.
excellent service and a complimentary pass to the health club at the devonshire arms hotel
Great location, nice hotel. When we were checking in, a previous customer was complaining about being over charged. The hotel agreed and refunded him. The also over charged me for drinks. It appears to be a systematic problem as the staff did not over appologise, it seemed to be a regular complaint.
Delightful decor, a departure from traditional English country hotels
Great food, friendly staff. Decor and fixtures need an update by someone with an eye for design.
The welcome was really friendly. We were met at the door, shown around the breakfast room & lounge, then taken to our room where all facilities were shown. There are tea & coffee making facilities in the room but we were offered a tray too. As we had arrived relatively late & were not eating there Sheila told us a few places to eat in the area. Fantastic breakfast in the morning, nothing was too much trouble.
Very friendly people, eager to please, accommodating. Excellent food Room was slightly small, but sufficient
The owners - very friendly, made the extra effort, over and above expectations, to be helpful and to make our stay pleasant eg. prepared an early dinner, then drove us to our venue for an evening wedding reception. The food - freshly prepared local produce perfectly prepared and presented The place - spotless, comfortable and full of character Couldn't find any
The staff were very good couldn't do enough for us,the hotel was very homely and comfortable. The position of the hotel is very scenic . Couldn't think of any.
good size room good breakfast staff and breakfast had a very cold shower
Food was nice Very dated decor and terrible shower, no water pressure and no hot water for an evening shower.
food fantastic, staff brilliant room neds freshening up, a l;ittle drab, but didnt spoil our stay
The location, of course, and the genuinely helpful staff
The whole of our stay was excellent. The owners and staff made us feel very welcome. The meals and accomodation were first class. We look forward to staying again.
The hotel is a grand old bulding in a lovely location. Staff work hard to please. The Falcon is tired and needs a facelift. Its staff also seem tired! and work hard to provide a decent service but seem to be struggling. Restaurant service was poor; dinner cuisine was average. our experience was lifted by being allocated a handsome and spacious four-poster bedroom at regular rate which made our stay enjoyable above all!
very small and cramped room, restaurant staff were inexperienced
Food was not enjoyable and the staff on duty for the evening meal were grumpy. Too many supplement prices on the menu.
The hotels location is very good and we particularly enjoyed the food which was excellent. Unfortunately the room was only average even though there were few other guests at the time of our stay. The room was dissapointing and insufficiently heated at a vey cold time. Room comfort is essential for the time of year.
the hot toddies and the lovely open fire. The breakfast and the service were top class. The friendly and helpful staff.
Its location was just what I wanted, being in the middle of the village and it offered car parking. The pub is old fashioned and had some wonderful features, it also had a nice bar with real ales which is something that I would look for in similar establishments. The room was available on our arrival which was also a bonus as we did arrive early. The food was nice and we ate in a nice dinning room away from the other side of the pub, it was warm, private, quiet also an added bonus. Otherwise there was the bar area which had a nice fire but was a bit busy if you wanted a quiet meal. The food itself was good, served well and hot, overall enjoyable and good value meal. The breakfast was also good, not over the top but ample for the type of acc It was a noisy hotel, when someone else showered the noise from the extractor or pump was really loud and would have woken anyone up; it was almost like a compressor. The noise from the bar at night was also quite loud, with some bad language (not good for young children) which could be heard in the early hours of the morning in the courtyard. I do realise that this is a country pub so its kind of to be expected in a way as the pub is in the centre of a village and its used well be the locals who keep it open. I did mention the noise from the showers and the courtyard to the manager who did agree with me about the noise, saying that he had also struggled to sleep a little but did say that he had a meeting with a senior executive.
