Pros: Such a delightful place, just what you need after a long flight. The room was so cosy and clean. The mattress is one of the best I’ve laid on. Pros: Peter was very friendly, knowledgeable. He always gives you the best advice to any of your queries. Self-service continental breakfast with a wide range of food and drinks. With quadruple room deal, you got a whole little cottage by yourself which gives you a homely experience at the countryside.
Cons: I could hear the sounds of a plan flying above the stay even at 11pm. However, this does not affect me as I fall asleep easily and am a heavy sleeper. Public transport is not quite well-linked here but I managed well by relying on Taxi/Uber services. Of course, it would be more convenient if you have a car.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location for our needs
Cons: Staff swearing in the car park whilst we were having a chill out drink. The room we ordered with a four poster bed was not available so we were moved to a sub standard room. The chef got sacked so we had no evening meal at the hotel that we were looking forward to . We had to get a takeaway, something we do at home not when we stay away.slats in the bathroom were missing so little privacy. Staff ( girls ) did their best. as helpful as they could be.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic stay. The staff were lovely and welcoming, across all times of day. The breakfast was really nice! Excellent value as a lot of other hotels in the area do not offer breakfast in room rate. Parking opposite at the library which for a Saturday after 5pm through till Monday 8am is free. Otherwise £3 a day. Which can’t be argued.

7.5 Good
Pros: A really luxurious room. We felt so spoiled! Great lunch and delicious breakfast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely room with a spacious bathroom. Ideal for Stansted airport without the 'airport hotel' feel.
Cons: No aircon on a hot night but an effective fan was provided. We had not been told when booking that the restaurant was closed and a bar menu was all that was available. This was limited in choice. Breakfast was also limited, for example, there were no cereals available. We were told that they had had to bin too many. The cooked breakfast was good however.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location - close to Stansted yet in a pleasant setting. Staff - helpful and courteous Bedroom and bathroom - spacious and clean and well decorated!

Pros: The hotel is in an old and traditional house. The room was pretty and comfortable, same for the bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back. Not too far away from London and about 40 min. by train from Cambridge.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice rooms, comfy bed and decent little breakfast.
Cons: Unbelievably hot shower which set the fire alarm off for the whole place! Rooms were very hot in summer, was meant to be fresh milk and water in a shared fridge but just full of sparkling water only. WiFi was a bit hit and miss.

Pros: Great location if you have an early flight to Stansted. However, take care to book the taxi as soon as you check-in since the availability is limited. Your host, Linda, can assist you in this.
Cons: Everything is ok, the bathroom is not en-suite, as cleraly stated, however it is literally opposite the room doors. The taxi to Stansted Airport is not so cheap despite the location (around 17,5 GBP).
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location. Perfect host.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very kind and helpful, giving me information about local transport and facilities, allowing 23.00 check-in, and helping with luggage. The shower is very good. Room clean and attractive.
Cons: I hadn’t realised my room didn’t have an en suite bathroom, or that the guesthouse doesn’t do breakfast, but I may not have read the description carefully enough. A very good café nearby for breakfast in any case. For me the room, as in many old stone buildings, has a certain damp clamminess to it, which disturbed my sleep.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, big room, near to some good restaurants and wine bar, proximity to train station. Value for money was excellent.
Cons: Shower/shower room was a little tired.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room. Bedroom and bathroom very clean. Nice decor. Friendly.
Cons: Doorbell didn't work - was on the point of leaving. Inside the front door was dirty, which was a shame because the actual room was very clean and beautifully decorated and furnished.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was well-appointed, very, clean, a working a television connecrion with main UK TV channels , kettles, tea-bags, coffee sugar and minifridge. Number of buzzing pubs around the property. A big UK chain supermarket is a minute away, so is a locally run convenience store. Got some last minute travel and essentials from the convenience store. Linda, the host, went out of her way to help and was helpful without being intrusive. Love to stay there again, especially if I have to catch a flight again from Stansted.
Cons: Nothing about this property was particularly unlikeable. The bulb in the bedlamp were not working, but that is a minor issue for a lovely room close to the Stansted airport in a quaint neighborhood in the Mountfitchet village
7.0 Good
Pros: Very friendly welcome! The lady that runs it is lovely !
Cons: The shower in the bathroom was working. The water was only coming out from the bath taps, so I couldn't have a proper shower. Also I think having an alarm clock in the rooms would be good. I imagine many people I transiting to the airport. I had my phone alarm but I was paranoid all night that the battery wouldnt charge and j might miss my flight, so I didn't sleep at all.
6.5 Good
Pros: Location and bedroom decor
Cons: Bathroom knew it had bath but shower with curtain preferred
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Close to station and centre of town

Cons: Although in the quiet zone, still rowdy in the corridor at night at times but that isn’t necessarily the hotel’s fault. Cons: The food was poor and very expensive. The room was not clean. All quick clean. Not corners or behind doors or sink holes.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Architecturally it is very appealing. Rooms are very comfortable. I loved the hand cream in the bathroom. Excellent good value for money breakfast. Endless tea and coffee.
Cons: Waiting at 2.00 am in the morning after a long (and painful journey) for a receptionist to book in and get my key.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location for a night's stay before an early flight. The breakfast is worth the price as well.
Cons: I had dinner in the restaurant and was quite disappointed especially given how expensive it was
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast very good
Cons: Nothing to complain about
6.8 Good
Pros: The location is really close to terminal building - just a short walk. Room was a little 'tired' but clean and the bed was comfy tea/coffee facilities were good but no mini bar Room service menu was available. The bar in reception was a hive of activity and a nice place to sit and watch the world go by.
Cons: I had dinner in the American Bar - really nice atmosphere and the staff were attentive but thought it was a bit pricy for the food it offered. £27 for Chicken/Ribs with coleslaw and chips. Check in was slow - I would have a few people dealing with people checking in. There was only one person on Check in and a long queue of people who were waiting.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location for an early morning departure. Modern, quiet and spacious room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We received an upgrade to a suite.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good but as usual many of staff were not native English speakers, making casual conversation difficult.
Cons: As above.

Pros: Breakfast was basic but tasted great. Rooms were clean, comfortable and modern and offered things like toothpaste, toothbrushes, hair combs, feminine products, shampoo etc if you have forgotten yours at home (just go down to reception and ask). Location was great and provided a shuttle bus to the airport for £3 each way per person (CASH ONLY). Would definitely stay here again though as it was value for money.
Cons: Only issue I had was with the staff as they weren’t very welcoming or friendly

Pros: The location is good.
Cons: Room is small and I found a dirty sock was on the fire alarm.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was nice and comfy beds, shuttle bus is also very handy.
Cons: The complimentary breakfast was all cold continental till after our checkout (5am), if we would of known this we wouldn’t of opted for the breakfast included option.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was comfortable and the shower great. It was very clean and hygienic. Also pro: air condition!
Cons: The pillows were very hard, but there were three of them. Also the breakfast before 6 o'clock was sweets only. Not even a slice of cheese. Bad, if you're not eating sugar. Also the Shuttle from the airport was extremely expensive (3£/5€ per Person) for the short drive.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was delicious, the towels were perfect
Cons: It was a bit further than I expected from the airport and you need to pay the driver in cash at the shuttle bus

Pros: Staff were good. Location was convenient. Food was diabolical. Quite expensive for a mediocre hotel, but hey, choice is limited in a captive market.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant location, ideal stop over and perfect for a group or family
Cons: Nothing, but the sat nav doesn’t quite take you too it so I wasn’t sure where it was to start.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This guest house is an absolute gem. The location is excellent, it is just 3 minutes by car though I usually walk to the airport which is only 20 minutes to check in at airport, though also taxis can be ordered. It is so quiet and peaceful, aircraft never heard and in countryside with fields around. Friendly ,helpful owner with coffee etc in room and great shower. I have been there many times and its much better than airport hotels costing 3 times and then waiting for hotel to terminal buses.
Cons: Nothing, its an ideal guest house. In Takely village, a short walk away are pubs shops etc again more pleasant and cheaper than airport terminal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Professional, helpful greeting. Had everything you needed. Extra biscuits and milk were a nice touch. Peaceful location.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent as one can walk from Stansted Airport. The room is very clean and comfortable.
Cons: The room was small but had most things one would need EXCEPT there was no hot water for the shower in the morning. As it was 06.30hrs I did not feel I could contact the manager/owner.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location close to the airport. Walking distance
Cons: Rooms are a bit tired. Carpet needs to be replaced or just removed entirely.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, hospitality, comfort

Located in Bishop's Stortford, Greenways Lodge Nr Stansted Airport is a 3-minute drive from Bishop's Stortford Golf Club and 6 minutes from Rhodes Arts Complex. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. A shuttle from the hotel to the airport is complimentary at scheduled times.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I liked the fact I was in a room away from the main property-felt more private. Clean & comfortable rooms, staff very welcoming.
Cons: It’s quite remote and after driving for 6 hours, really didn’t want to get back in the car to try & find some food. Think the room would benefit from a microwave and fridge x
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff, clean bathroom and comfortable bed, very satisfied
7.0 Good
Pros: Good value for money, was good location although a road was closed and it took us on a 6 mile windy road diversion. But hey, these things happen. Nice outlook on to garden and quiet location.
Cons: Only negative was that the room smelt a bit musty and had an interconnecting door to my colleagues room so it was a bit noisy.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We arrived quite late but the staff left a note to where our room was. Everything was really nice and we genuinely just needed a bed to crash on. Around 15mins by Uber to the airport. The bed was a lot comfier than the floor at the airport. I think it was worth every penny!
7.5 Good
Pros: Close to the airport and reasonable value for money. Although it was a "No frills" place it had all the basic requirements including tea and coffee making facilities.
Cons: A communal sitting area was right by our door, meaning we had to "share smoke" from smokers sitting there, if this was moved further away (very achievable and easy to do) then this would be preferred.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Close to the airport and amazing hospitality by the owner
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean but basic facilities. Nice hot shower. Adequate towels and toiletries. Basic tea/coffee making. Microwave enough crockery for making a meal. Table to eat out. If you were a smoker (we are not), area outside with table, chairs and ashtray. Would use it again.
Cons: Quality. But for price good.
5.0 Okay
Cons: No breakfast available. Very old towels, bath mat & furniture. Heater broken.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location is perfect for access to Stansted Airport.. The price was very reasonable.
Cons: The rooms were musty and smelt of cigarette smoke. They would have benefited from having the windows opened. Putting an air freshener in the rooms would have made a big improvement.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet and clean.
Cons: Nothing.

Cons: Rooms are very dated. Needs a refurb. I was only there for 4 hours so it was somewhere where I could sleep for a bit, beds were comfortable but like I said hotel needs an update
7.5 Good
Pros: The morning shuttle was very efficient
Cons: Website says shuttle will arrive in 10 mins... it was 30 AND went on a diversion to someone’s house... ‘back in a minute’ said the driver, then reappeared 10 mins later... so almost a good hour to get to the hotel from calling for shuttle
6.5 Good
Pros: Airport shuttle was convenient.
Cons: It was satisfactory.

Cons: There wasn’t anything to not like
10.0 Excellent

Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and luggage storage. 9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely reception area visually, keys waiting, easy drop off, great staff
Cons: Bathroom attention - looked rushed, had empty packet on floor, and not washed sides
4.3 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: WiFi didn’t work in the rooms and no attempt made to rectify. Rooms were quite unkept and smell very damp and dirty. The beds were clean which was the only positive - although this shouldn’t even need to be said.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Clean basic room
Cons: no breakfast but had booked a breakfast. No reduction. A reception where you had to ring a number. Only a towel each. Shower curtain useless. Wet floor. Wobble tap.. Not worth money. TV bad reception
5.5 Okay
Pros: Bed was comfortable
Cons: Bathroom was mouldy on roof and smelt. Mould can be dangerous. Arrived after long journey and staff member couldn’t get into the room, so took a long time and had to get another. Not ideal when tired. Staff member was difficult to understand and didn’t understand me that well due to their poor English - he did try his best though. Still not that close to stansted and costs you at least £14 to get a cab from it to the airport.
9.5 Excellent
Cons: Somehow, in the hotel is absent schedule of 508 bus to the airport. It would be nice to have it somewhere.
6.5 Good
Pros: Nothing special. A bit dirty. Had to have the window open because it was so hot, but when i got there the window was already open. I would consider staying again.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: There was no wi fi service in this year and age. The atmosphere was stale with dingy stair carpet. The hot water and tap pressure was not working well, the sink was blocked and no food facility in site. The only good thing was that we could pack our car there for few days and the lodge was near the airport.
Cons: See above
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The beds were comfy and room was generally well furnished.
Cons: The B&B lies, breakfast is not included in room rate. You'll be fleeced when you walk in £4.50 each for breakfast. It is just some mouldy bread, cereal and instant tea/coffee. Nicer places to stay I'm sure nearby and to eat. The room was clearly recently redone, however maintenance needed as tap in bathroom almost falling off in my hand.
7.0 Good
Pros: Proximity to airport and local pub for a meal in the evening
Cons: Breakfast was a do it yourself thing. Had to boil kettle etc
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious bedroom, nice large TV, lovely bathroom. Taxi available at and time to the airport. Absolutely excellent in every way.
6.8 Good
Cons: When I got to the hotel room someone was in there both mine and the lady’s keys worked both of our doors so didn’t feel secure also the shower their wasn’t any hot water and the shower was blocked I didn’t get any sleep as there was slamming doors the people next door was having a party and could hear everything!!
2.8 Mediocre
Pros: The hotel is located close to Stansted airport BUT...
Cons: DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL or DeSalis. I have given fair (good) reviews to most of the hotels where I have stayed in the past. My reviews can be seen in Agoda, Booking, Kayak and I am a Platinum member with Marriott hotels. What did I not like about this hotel? I encountered the rudest and most disrespectful staff I've ever dealt with. As soon as I walked in the guy at the front desk yelled at my girlfriend and I for leaving the car parked (momentarily) in the only area available (we did this to confirm that we had a room before unloading our suitcases) If you're driving, bear in mind that the hotel has two decent parking spots, otherwise you'll end up leaving your car in the back of the building which seems dark and unsafe. The guy then said that he didn't see our reservation and sent us to a DIFFERENT HOTEL without even apologizing for the ordeal. The new hotel was called DeSalis and it was OK at first sight but we were given a nasty and old room in the back of the building. The room smelled like and old and humid warehouse. The bed was uncomfortable and you had to hold the shower with one hand as it wasn't attached to the wall. Further, we were told the restaurant closed at 11pm but we showed up at 10.35pm and they said that the kitchen was closed. Bear in mind that the closest restaurant is 15 minutes away from DeSalis. Outcome? We ate chips and drank cheap wine at 11.30pm in our nasty and uncomfortable room after driving 4 hours from Manchester. Overall, this was the worst experience I've ever had not with one but two hotels. I am sure other people have enjoyed their stays but I hope you guys keep in mind my comments if you want to avoid being THAT couple that doesn't their last night in such a lovely country! I want to leave on a good note so I will once again mention that both hotels are less than 8 minutes away from the aiport.
