Kevin is a good cook. Can't believe he does all the work by himself. Very good selection of fruit and cereals. Coffee was also good. Everything was clean and well cared for. Very pleased I was able to get a ground floor room.
I really can't fault anything other than I had slight difficulty with the locks. Then I worked out how to use the darn key. I would like to see a rail up the front steps as I have bad knees and going up stairs can be difficult.
Breakfast was very good quality. Our room was tastefully decorated and comfortable. The guest house generally contained some interesting furniture which the owner had collected. Mr Hallworth was very pleasant and welcoming and we had a good chat with him over breakfast.
Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it...position of premises was great . Bed was uncomfortable...ensuite was good.
The gentleman seemed very reserved..wasnt there when we arrived but did leave key for us...We were told we were on 1st floor but we were on 2nd floor...no lifts and partner found it difficult to manage steep staircase. Also room needed good springclean .
Lovely guest house, beautiful room, comfy bed, delicious breakfast, really nice owner, very friendly. No negative points. Would definitely recommend.
Location was very good with just a short stroll to the centre of the town. Free on site parking was a bonus along with a cooked breakfast in the morning with the addition of a continental option as well. Kevin provided us with a map and dining options. Room was spacious with with bathroom facilities.Added bonus which we did not use was the communal lounge area if you wanted a bit more space and the outdoor hot tub.
My only criticism was the pillows could do with being replaced as they are old and worn out.
