receptionist helpful with car parking and visiting old city and amphitheatre
Nice pool, view of the sunrise in the morning, lovely breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff. Clean, too. Rasy access to the beach and the Gothic quarter. Restaurant menu was affordable but never ate there. Location was somewhat misleading...it was never 800 metres from the train station. Taxi would have been a better move had I known that. It's still only about a 15 minute walk, but only if you know right where you're going. Also, aircon unit was spotty at best, and location was not exactly in the heart of town (but closer to the beach). Chambermaid inexplicably took the soap when she was cleaning and didn't replace it...I'm sure it was just an oversight. Tv was significantly smaller than my computer monitor, but wasn't much on anyway.
excellent pool and very close to beach
The staff were quite helpful and unobtrusive. They made a number of helpful recommendations on where to eat and what to see that proved to be spot on.
The staff and the location.
Proximity to historical area and beach Lack of catering facilities
No air conditioning system, seemms that noone in the stuff speaks english, no reserved place in the parking, they do not know what privacy is.
Cleanliness of hotel, expensive marble tiling, view from room balcony. Having to pay for parking.
The pool More local style food would have been nice
Personal and Public rooms a very good standard for a three star hotel. Beakfast provided a good range of food for various nationalities, although traditional English breakfast questionable. Beakfast. Bacon and Scrambled Egg poor standard, and hot drinks dispenser tended to provide luke warm drinks. More flexibility from staff regarding food provision would have been nice, for example, my wife only eats a bowl of cereal with a banana for breakfast, fruit supplied but no bananas.Staff could not provide even though situation was explained, and we purchased our ownand brought into Hotel. A shame really, for a little more thought could greatly improve what is already a good three star Hotel
The hotel is perfectly situated on the town's lovely Rambla by the Mediterranean. We had a view of the sea from our balcony which was much appreciated.
excellent location and lovely entrance to the hotel we were supposed to have a double bed but had two single beds; some pictures on the walls would be good to create a softer tmosphere.
Great location. large, comfortable bedrooms with a lovely view of the hotel's courtyard and swimming pool.
The city of Tarragona is lovely so the hotel offers a well placed accommodation with excellent staff and well sized rooms
stylish decor and very well-positioned to visit the town
Good hotel,very central,excellant staff
They allowed my dog to stay and the hotel was close to the old town. They allow dogs at this hotel but the manager was snotty and appeared not to like animals. The room was very outdated and the bath I was unable to use as was worn, rough and rusty. The room was very hot even in October as the air conditioner did not work and a lot of noise from the street when trying to sleep
The girls who worked on reception were very nice and accomodating and spoke excellent English. They were the nicest thing about this hotel. The front of the building is located on a good street. It is just over one minute from the most beautiful views of the beach and sea and is perhaps 3 minutes from the roman ruins. About 15 minute walk from the bus station and 7-10 min from the train station. Therefore location is prime. But the views from the back of the hotel were of another building and there was a pub across from our rooms that stayed open until 2.30am. Bins are collected at about mid-night. Rooms are not sound proofed. Rooms are dated and the wardrobes were smelly. Breakfast very expensive given that you can get coffee and crossant in a very nice cafe down the street for €2. I requested a double room with a view of the sea for my parents but were given a twin room with a view of another building .Tarragona is a beautiful, clean town but don't expect too much from the hotels. Not three star in terms of Irish hotels that i have stayed in and over priced for what you get.
Location - pillows very hard and uncomfortable - breakfast expensive and not very nice (much nicer and cheaper in cafe further up the street) - coffee purchased in bar tasted poor quality and expensive - no coffee making facilities in room. Hotel generally lacked warmth, was outdated and not very welcoming.
It's central position.
Clean, towels changed on request, friendly greetings by reception and helpful when asked advice or taxi bookings.Good size room and bathroom. Shower had plenty of power but controls were poor, showers should be thermostaticlly controlled for safety.Kettle and maybe toaster would be helpful at breakfast time.
Very central location, practical as comes with a kitchen. Also not far from the beach and train station
The location was good, room was clean, staff friendly. The bed was very short and too small for 2 people. The air conditioning for the building (outside the building) was very loud (and we asked for a quiet room).
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The air conditioning unit worked really well. The room description said "balcony" but my room did not have one. The soundproofing to the room next door was poor.
The location was excellent, you walk out the front door and the market is right there. Also it is within walking distance of all the attractions. The room also was very comfortable and spacious.
Central location, close to everything we wanted.
Great little hotel in an excellent location on the "new rambla" which is actually quite old. The hotel was within walking distance to the amphitheater, the old town and the Roman forum. Our room was at the front of the hotel with a small balcony overlooking the rambla. The room was in very good shape -- newly redecorated with a great kitchenette and big bathroom. Very pleasant, very clean, and nice to come back to at the end of the day. Absolutely no complaints -- we would highly recommend this hotel for value, location and pleasant staff.
Hotel staff very friendly and hospitable. Ready to aid the guest as much as they can. An excellent location. The room was reasonably well-appointed and clean, but quite small. Nice bathroom of good size, however.
Excellent central Location with very helpful staff.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and the location on the Rambla is excellent. The walls are a bit thin, and you can hear people on the stairs outside, as well as running showers in other rooms. Not a major problem, though.
If you are staying here be sure to book a "sea view" room. being able to look out into the ocean was the best part of our stay as there is not much to do or see in the city, it is a smaller city. room was cleaned everyday, but could have been cleaned better. the staff was very friendly but didnt tell us much about the hotel when we checked in.. somtimes its nice to know where breakfast will be, where the pool is, where the elevators are ext.. however we were just handed our key and had to figure the rest out on out own.
My friend and I wanted to go to Tarragona after a week in Barcelona to see the historical buildings and also to relax. Husa Imperial was perfect for our needs. Clean, excellent location, and friendly staff.
Excellent location, really good atmosphere right in the centre of things Parking was very close but very expensive
The location was superb and the price amazing. It was the best 1 star hotel I have ever stayed in more like 3 stars. Right in the centre of the old historic part within the old roman Circus. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby. The afternoon is best to see the roman and medieval sites as the coach tours have left!! A taxi is a must from the train station as it is up a steep hill, especially if its hot. On the way back we walked with our cases. The bed was very uncomfortable - very hard. We used the blanket after the first night under the bottom sheet and that was much better
The location was excellent, but parking is a real problem. There are no parking facilities. We were told to find space on some nearby streets, but there weren't any. Ended up parking in a public garage that cost 18 Euros per night.
Good, clean and well located hotel offering high quality at a reasonable price in a tidy city
excellent location - excellent meals
Location and outlook from room balcony There is almost no soundproofing betweens rooms. Very noisy being able to hear the shower in the next room
Very central location, cleanes and interiour of the rooms, WC
Helpful, friendly staff and cleanliness
Clean, comfortable, efficient, very good value for the money. I have no real complaints. Staff was efficient but not always friendly. I don't recommend the restaurant.
The location was very nice - you could look down at the square and see all of the people eating, shopping, talking. The room's heating seemed to be stuck permanantly on "high" and we had to keep the balcony doors open. The noise on the square was unbelievably loud with the doors open, making it impossible to sleep soundly.
good hotel, central location - can walk to all the site seeing spots. internet did not work :( but they were fixing it.
free internet access room small toilet kept running
Staff were very helpful. Location right across the street from the train station was perfect for my needs. If I have to be critical it was quite noisey (traffic noise), but that is to be expected given its city location.
Hotel is central, clean and well maintained. I found the staff to be friendly and efficient and they spoke English.
Urbis is a 3star hotel, nothing more nothing less. In that case what you pay is what you get would be fair enough as the location is good. I am not a fan of 3 star hotels, but in Tarragona there is not much choice if you want a decent location.
it was central for all of the city and sights the breakfast
tidy clean room and generally good facilities no
Very good location. Clean room. Good for budget stay.
Central location, Minbar in room and friendly staff Carpet in room a bit grubby
Close to the city centre. There was no toilet brush in the bathroom and internet in the public area was not working always.
convenient location for old town narrow stair case to rooms
The location The entrance is the same as the cafe-restaurant and last but not least the airconditioning or ventilator lacks.
The location and our balcony opened out on to the plaza. Wasnt sure what to expect from a hostel but we stayed in a total of 3 different hotels while in spain and this was 1 of the nicest. Would definately recommend Nothing
It was a greate experince! Good price, centrally located; Advise to everyone!
Seeing Tarragona Right on the square during festival week - Loud music into the morning. Not really a negative but meant for younger crowd. Very very hot - no breeze.
the views from the room, however not all rooms have the same view. Take a room with views on the placa de font the smell in the gangway
Staffs are nice (although they don't speak English much). Room was clean. Tv in a room. Good location, in the old city area. Great value for the price. It was kind of cold at some night. The wall was thin. No fridge. No amenities like tooth brush or soap. But again, for the price I paid (twenty something euro per night), this is a very good hotel I can recommend!
location, staff, service, clean and confort place
A nightmare.on internet price was 55 euros plus promotionof 50%discount (22 euros) after i saw how z hotel was, checkedr the regular price announced in the hotel it was 22 euros. no entrance, you pass inside a long low class bar all the way to find stairs,no reception, elevator from z 1st floor,no english, very noisy, rooms are corridors(very small n dirty)
The accommadation was very satisfactory.Staff and management likewise.Location ideal for exploring the city.Close to beacj and station No lounge/sitting room facilities.
