The room was fantastic and breakfast was included in the price
basic city centre hotel difficult to find initially as it was situated on a very large roundabout and the hotel's signs were not easy to see while driving. Evening meals were not served until 8.30.
everything was nice, quiet and clean. 15mins' walk to railway station.
Location was excellent. Good access to the beach, castle and restaurants. Staff was friendly. The DVD check out program was a nice feature. The bed was just a little firm.
The location was very central and the staff were very helpful. The roof terrace provided a wonderful view. The room was a smokking room as smelled quite strongly of it. There was no gym/the sauna wasnt on and the hottub was empty despite assurance it would all be working.
facility, cleaness nothing
Very nice hotel, very clean, hotel staff extremely helpful, It was very short stay, and we liked everything
This was our first time in Tarragona, and we weanted to have a comfortable hotel near or in the city centre, not far from the old town. This hotel was an excellent choice: comfortable, efficient, fairly new, walking distance to everything important for us. The reception staff did not know the Michelin-rated restaurants in the city.
6Km from port aventura excellent value for overnight stay No beach!
The hotel is new, clean and have big rooms. The food is good. It was hard to find the horel with the address from the web site. Every thing was great
Large comfortable rooms with aircon and very good prices. Restaurant not open for visitors but open for a large group of people who had pre-booked part of it. Food only available in your room and a limited menu.It was OK but we would have preferred to have eaten in the restaurant. Also no other restaurants within a sensible distance other than chinese.
Very helpful staff. Buffet breakfast was great value. Signage wasn´t great.
Most staff was very friendly and nice. The swimming pool was very handy. Our room was very clean and well equipped. There is a car park available ouside the hotel so there's no need to pay and book the hotel car park. Everything was fine. Maybe the distance to centre of Tarragona - it was 10 minutes by bus or car, and not the best surrounding to walk there.
the sink´s drain didn´t work well
Pleasant staff at reception, friendly room service, breakfast was nice, facilities were good Maybe the location isn't the best, not such a big deal though because everything else was great. Also we were questioned by one staff member about weather we were allowed to have the breakfast (didn't seem like she questioned anyone else...) possibly because of our age/appearance (I have a mohawk...) It wasn't a major incident though as I just showed her the card and it was fine.
clean, large and very comfortable no wifi in room, only in front of reception
Excellent rooms. Excellent food (both the 3 course dinner menu and the buffet breakfast were top class for the money). Good swimming pool and courtyard. Nice bar. Location was poor. Out of town and difficult to find.
big room & bed.quite & clean
The free minibar and fitness room w/sauna were great! Hotel is 20 min walking distance to downtown
Nice room. Easy to find. Close to airport, although we were charged €30 for the Taxi, which seems crazy for a 10 minute trip. Poor selection of TV channels
AC was not working well....
The hotel was ultra modern, luxurious and clean. The minibar was free! (soft drinks)It was in the centre of town within easy walking distance of the old quarter. Garage facilities.
room was comfortable and v clean, free soft drinks minibar was useful for my 13 yr old son. no
Second time we've been as we love it- smart, convenient, stylish, comfortable and very good value!
The rooms we're spacious and well kept. It was 1.5km from the cathedral. Itbwas close to the main shopping drag but pretty far from everything else.
The hotel is nicely decorated and the rooms are very confortable, specially the bed. The staff is helpfull and they speak fluent English. The room was pretty small.
The price and the quality provided for it - £70 (paid in advance) including excellent buffet breakfast. Good 40 minutes walk to the Miracle beach - however I believe there were buses to take you there.
This was a modern hotel, excellent restaurant, excellent staff who went out of their way to be helpful. Would recommend them highly.
Excellent breakfast & free minibar. Very helpful & polite staff Underground carpark very difficult to get in and out of!
No air conditioning system, seemms that noone in the stuff speaks english, no reserved place in the parking, they do not know what privacy is.
excellent pool and very close to beach
Personal and Public rooms a very good standard for a three star hotel. Beakfast provided a good range of food for various nationalities, although traditional English breakfast questionable. Beakfast. Bacon and Scrambled Egg poor standard, and hot drinks dispenser tended to provide luke warm drinks. More flexibility from staff regarding food provision would have been nice, for example, my wife only eats a bowl of cereal with a banana for breakfast, fruit supplied but no bananas.Staff could not provide even though situation was explained, and we purchased our ownand brought into Hotel. A shame really, for a little more thought could greatly improve what is already a good three star Hotel
The staff were quite helpful and unobtrusive. They made a number of helpful recommendations on where to eat and what to see that proved to be spot on.
The staff and the location.
Nice pool, view of the sunrise in the morning, lovely breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff. Clean, too. Rasy access to the beach and the Gothic quarter. Restaurant menu was affordable but never ate there. Location was somewhat misleading...it was never 800 metres from the train station. Taxi would have been a better move had I known that. It's still only about a 15 minute walk, but only if you know right where you're going. Also, aircon unit was spotty at best, and location was not exactly in the heart of town (but closer to the beach). Chambermaid inexplicably took the soap when she was cleaning and didn't replace it...I'm sure it was just an oversight. Tv was significantly smaller than my computer monitor, but wasn't much on anyway.
Proximity to historical area and beach Lack of catering facilities
receptionist helpful with car parking and visiting old city and amphitheatre
Cleanliness of hotel, expensive marble tiling, view from room balcony. Having to pay for parking.
The pool More local style food would have been nice
I'd like everything. Very pleasant and comfortable place.
spa & cava at breakfast room was very small for a 5 star hotel
Confort, food, design, all infrastructure in general, location... Everything was ok!
Large room. I was overcharged by 175 euros for the room. The hotel did not acknowledge the rate given by booking.com. I will not be using booking.com again in the future.
Comfort, service, restaurant food for breakfast and dinner. No drawers to accomodate small items eg.UNDERWARE,SOCKS Etc.,we had to leave these in our suitcases. no trouser press,no full length mirror
Spa is really good, food as well, well recommended for a weekend trip.
New modern and very clean, staff friendly and with the exception of one front desk person were very helpful and courteous
The spa facilities are excellent and well looked after. The life guard cover exemplary. Well laid out gardens and plenty of sun beds. Just across the road is the beach with good sand. The hotel played the same set of music again and again at a volume that made it unescapable. It is too near to huge packed holiday camp type hotels but that is the area. These detract from it's aura of elegance.
Splendid hotel, large room an good coffee shop next to reception. Parking by the hotel was at first difficult as its a far outside city centre people moved as they finished work so we were abloe to find a space behind the hotel. No restuarant by there is a Wok close by.
Friendly people, easy to find WI-FI connection was only partially working: still to be fully implemented. No Hotel parking available.
Excellent value, easy to find Parking not in same building
location, big rooms breakfast
An excellent modern hotel set on the outskirts of Tarragona .Very friendly staff and a handy cafe by the foyer for food and drink. The room was a pleasant surprise with an excellent bed and bathroom. If you like jogging there's an excellent path beside the river you can enjoy behind the hotel. A little far out of town for some maybe, personally i prefer this option myself. I got a bus from the train station and after 10 mins. in the Hospital direction there is a stop by the roundabout outside the hotel.
Helpful staff A bit too far out, though there are buses.
The staff was very helpful. They understood that we were all trying to pay separately so they allowed us to use different forms of payment for one room. I also liked the large size of the towels It was a little loud. Everything from voices to doors closing echoed into our room
Few requests about internet have been promptly addressed and fixed. I was travelling by car and the hotel was very handy close to the motorway. I was looking for something simple and I've found a very comfortable accomodation.
rather spacious double room, with nice bathroom and AC. it's rather far from city centre to reach on foot. and time spent in public transport is comparable to that when you walk. we enjoyed breakfast at hotel cafe, but the "breakfast room" in basement was a bit unplesant and unfortunately we had there dirty plates and unwashed tomatoes...:-(
Free wifi, calm area, big rooms, sound and light insulation was good, free parking places nearby Not exactly on the city center, breakfast paid was restricted
stylish decor and very well-positioned to visit the town
The girls who worked on reception were very nice and accomodating and spoke excellent English. They were the nicest thing about this hotel. The front of the building is located on a good street. It is just over one minute from the most beautiful views of the beach and sea and is perhaps 3 minutes from the roman ruins. About 15 minute walk from the bus station and 7-10 min from the train station. Therefore location is prime. But the views from the back of the hotel were of another building and there was a pub across from our rooms that stayed open until 2.30am. Bins are collected at about mid-night. Rooms are not sound proofed. Rooms are dated and the wardrobes were smelly. Breakfast very expensive given that you can get coffee and crossant in a very nice cafe down the street for €2. I requested a double room with a view of the sea for my parents but were given a twin room with a view of another building .Tarragona is a beautiful, clean town but don't expect too much from the hotels. Not three star in terms of Irish hotels that i have stayed in and over priced for what you get.
It's central position.
Great location. large, comfortable bedrooms with a lovely view of the hotel's courtyard and swimming pool.
The hotel is perfectly situated on the town's lovely Rambla by the Mediterranean. We had a view of the sea from our balcony which was much appreciated.
Good hotel,very central,excellant staff
Location - pillows very hard and uncomfortable - breakfast expensive and not very nice (much nicer and cheaper in cafe further up the street) - coffee purchased in bar tasted poor quality and expensive - no coffee making facilities in room. Hotel generally lacked warmth, was outdated and not very welcoming.
The city of Tarragona is lovely so the hotel offers a well placed accommodation with excellent staff and well sized rooms
They allowed my dog to stay and the hotel was close to the old town. They allow dogs at this hotel but the manager was snotty and appeared not to like animals. The room was very outdated and the bath I was unable to use as was worn, rough and rusty. The room was very hot even in October as the air conditioner did not work and a lot of noise from the street when trying to sleep
excellent location and lovely entrance to the hotel we were supposed to have a double bed but had two single beds; some pictures on the walls would be good to create a softer tmosphere.
A good clean hotel with friendly staff. Been refurbished recently.
Nice, quiet and restful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent as was the service. A pity the nearest restaurants were some way away, but we coped and you can't have everything. Would definatley use again. Busses into the city were plentiful and cheap.
well run family type hotel
We only stayed for 1 night on our journey from France to Costa Blanca. Hotel was adequate for our purpose. Breakfast (continental) was 5 Euros per person extra but had a very good choice. Hotel is near to seafront on edge of town but has railway only a short distance away so can be noisy from trains. We would have appreciated having tea/coffee making facilities in room.
Staff extremely helpful and excellent for the beach
The staff were absolutely fantastic and very helpful. I have absolutely zero complaints about the hotel, it was great but one word of advice to guests staying at the hotel. Take the bus number 1 or 75 (Not sure about 75 double check) this takes you directly to town and back to the hotel for 1.20EUR where as a taxi cost 13EUR standard tariff!!!!
The staff was excellent, they gived us great suggestions for restaurants and were very friendly. It is in walking distance to the beach side. The air conditioner in our room was not good, a bad smell from it when running forced us to keep it off, resulting in windows open, resulting in mosquitos in room and noise from the train, running close to the hotel, but we did not claim for since staying just 2 nights. There is no elevator from parking to the reception, not easy to bring luggage to room by yourselves, but staff can help in this.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is excellently placed for Savinosa beach. I strongly recommend this hotel
have used it many times and will continue to do so no not really they do their upmost to help you enjoy your visit
Bedrooms and public areas were absolutely sparkling. I have rarely, if ever, stayed at a more highly polished hotel. Staff were extremely helpful. Signage to the hotel was very poor, not helped by local roadworks. This deficiency must be rectified, as I am sure that the hotel is losing trade by this error.
the friendliness of staff and locals, cleanliness, and excellent service n/a
The hotel was new, warm athmosphere, rooms were very clean, quiet and the breakfast was excellent! It was included in the price and it had a wide selection of continental and spanish foods. It is nice when you get up in the morning at a hotel abroad, you go for breakfast, and instead of two choices of cereals or a greasy english breakfast (adapted to narrow-minded english tourists that don't want to try new things) you find a huge selection of lovely foods!
The hotel and staff were excellent in a very peaceful place, it was the ideal place for a romantic and relaxing weekend break for myself & my partner. The range on the menu could be wider and altered from week to week.
The hotel is modern and beautiful. The rooms are huge and well-appointed. The pool area is fantastic. n/a
The room size is quite OK, the room was very clean, it gives you the oportunity to cook in your room, hence saving some money, but on the other hand the food from the restaurant is pretty good, and the menus quite affordable! It is 5 to 8 mins away (by car) from Port Aventura. Great free SPA!! The only tiny bit is that the cleaning ladies did not change the toilet paper. Hopefully a one-off oversight...
The staff is very friendly; there is a nice library with free internet access and the Spa treatments are great. Easy location, close to Reus airport The minibar was empty; the gym is just a bike and a mirror with some weights ... not really worth to called a gym.
nice clean rooms . Friendly Staff The food in the Restaurant was not very good
Comfort, location, mini kitchen facility. Fridge for keeping the wine cool. Street parking available but availability sometimes a little variable.
Excellent hotel close to Port Aventura No bar facility,Lack of public transport in the area
The comfort of the room, the friendliness of all the staff from the moment we arrived, very welcoming.
Hotel staff very friendly and hospitable. Ready to aid the guest as much as they can. An excellent location. The room was reasonably well-appointed and clean, but quite small. Nice bathroom of good size, however.
Clean, towels changed on request, friendly greetings by reception and helpful when asked advice or taxi bookings.Good size room and bathroom. Shower had plenty of power but controls were poor, showers should be thermostaticlly controlled for safety.Kettle and maybe toaster would be helpful at breakfast time.
Great little hotel in an excellent location on the "new rambla" which is actually quite old. The hotel was within walking distance to the amphitheater, the old town and the Roman forum. Our room was at the front of the hotel with a small balcony overlooking the rambla. The room was in very good shape -- newly redecorated with a great kitchenette and big bathroom. Very pleasant, very clean, and nice to come back to at the end of the day. Absolutely no complaints -- we would highly recommend this hotel for value, location and pleasant staff.
Central location, close to everything we wanted.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and the location on the Rambla is excellent. The walls are a bit thin, and you can hear people on the stairs outside, as well as running showers in other rooms. Not a major problem, though.
The location was good, room was clean, staff friendly. The bed was very short and too small for 2 people. The air conditioning for the building (outside the building) was very loud (and we asked for a quiet room).
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The air conditioning unit worked really well. The room description said "balcony" but my room did not have one. The soundproofing to the room next door was poor.
The location was excellent, you walk out the front door and the market is right there. Also it is within walking distance of all the attractions. The room also was very comfortable and spacious.
Excellent central Location with very helpful staff.
Very central location, practical as comes with a kitchen. Also not far from the beach and train station
A good middle of the road family hotel Not enought seating outside and not enough shade when the sun ws very strong
It was a convenient location, for travelling to Tarragona, Barcelona, and a nice resort While there was some nice staff the majority were cold and unfriendly, both in the restaurant and reception with quite poor english
Good location, first line to the beach, 300 m from aqua park. Sand on the floor of the room, poor cleanliness of the hotel pool, very poor animation (better cancel any then keep what they have in tbe evening), food (same breakfast every day for 12 days, poor selection in the evening - almost no seafood, same pork neck every evening, expensive drinks - 3 euro for small beer and 2 for small water, water not included into to the dinner). Next time will go on breakfasts only and many nice cafes and restaurants around with much better food.
I have stayed there for the last 5 years and I love it.
Everything was easy and smooth. No problems or worries. Small and complicated parking.
I love the hotel been there for four years now, very frendley polite.
Walls in the building were quite thin and we could hear when our neighbours were speaking loudly or a child was crying.
I did not like hotel staff
the food been excellent, near to the beach some waiters unfriendly
services, staff and restorant
I have stayed 2-nd time in the hotel and still enjoyed the high level of services and stuff readiness-to-help, especialy in the restorant, bar and front desk which have even been improved since 2007. Also La Pineda is a kids friendly place which helps a lot. Mini clud could be improved. Stuff was friendly but not proactive and not always followed the anounced schedule. Also was difficult to predict the time the room will be cleaned.
the kids entertainers were very nice, the check in staff were very pleasant, the restaurant staff were amazing my father in law in celiac and they were fantastic with him, the bar staff were also great the bedside lamp had a broken bulb left in it which was very dangerous as it was smoking
The hotel was very clean and with tennis courts, paddleballball courts, football area, indoor swimming pool and leisure centre there was always something to do when the sun was not shining and we could not go to the beach or lay by the pool. The daily kids club activities entertained the kids all week aswell. The only negative thing I would say about the hotel is reguarding the hotel bar.We were not staying all inclusive but it seemed most of the other guests were. This led to large ques at the bar as the other quests were making full use of their all inclusive bar tab.The bar staff were unbelievably and it seemed deliberatly slow possibly as a means to stop quests abusing their all inclusive bar tab.
Far away from the sea. Small family rooms, not worth paying for. Loud music. Bad for family couples with children. No knowledge of English. 3 stars the upmost. Low variety of food. Oil refinery in sight, sometimes odor.
the bedroom were excellent and the bathroom v/good, the maids did a very good job. the hotel was very good as a hotel but the location is terrible , with the windows open one had the delightfull smells from the oil and gas terminals, the area in general is very shabby, the hotel was built frankly in the wrong place,it is a shame as the front and the entrance are very grand. the " restraurant area" is much as one would have expected a few years ago in a "Butlins Camp".
The entrance and reception area was very grand. We had specifically booked for the indoor pool and gym facilities but on arrival discovered that all facilities were closed on a Monday which we had not been made aware of. It is close to airport but extremely expensive to get there by taxi approx 35 euros. The information centre at airport were most unhelpful about information regarding the airport shuttle and we were not given any further details when making a booking about how to go about booking aiport shuttle even though we requested that we needed it.
Very clean rooms, helpful staff, hotel central for getting about and the beach. The pool was too cold, being charged for the indoor pool/sauna, the food wasnt always hot.
Large pool, wide range of food, local to shops & local transport,Reus airport 20mins by taxi, very clean hotel. no tea or coffee making utencils in rooms, no iron in hotel for pressing clothes,
Entertiment group and activities, Hotel facilities and infrastructure for the kids, Friendly and easy enviroment. For the people who want to get to sleep early (before 24:00) it was almost impossible due to high decibell sound , you forced to pay for many facilities that are usually for free in other hotels (seif, towels, indoor pool, fitness gym) but thanks to the hotel staff u,ve noticed about that before.
Location and outlook from room balcony There is almost no soundproofing betweens rooms. Very noisy being able to hear the shower in the next room
Good, clean and well located hotel offering high quality at a reasonable price in a tidy city
Excellent location, really good atmosphere right in the centre of things Parking was very close but very expensive
The location was superb and the price amazing. It was the best 1 star hotel I have ever stayed in more like 3 stars. Right in the centre of the old historic part within the old roman Circus. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby. The afternoon is best to see the roman and medieval sites as the coach tours have left!! A taxi is a must from the train station as it is up a steep hill, especially if its hot. On the way back we walked with our cases. The bed was very uncomfortable - very hard. We used the blanket after the first night under the bottom sheet and that was much better
Helpful, friendly staff and cleanliness
The location was very nice - you could look down at the square and see all of the people eating, shopping, talking. The room's heating seemed to be stuck permanantly on "high" and we had to keep the balcony doors open. The noise on the square was unbelievably loud with the doors open, making it impossible to sleep soundly.
Very central location, cleanes and interiour of the rooms, WC
Clean, comfortable, efficient, very good value for the money. I have no real complaints. Staff was efficient but not always friendly. I don't recommend the restaurant.
excellent location - excellent meals
The location was excellent, but parking is a real problem. There are no parking facilities. We were told to find space on some nearby streets, but there weren't any. Ended up parking in a public garage that cost 18 Euros per night.
free internet access room small toilet kept running
Urbis is a 3star hotel, nothing more nothing less. In that case what you pay is what you get would be fair enough as the location is good. I am not a fan of 3 star hotels, but in Tarragona there is not much choice if you want a decent location.
Central location, Minbar in room and friendly staff Carpet in room a bit grubby
Hotel is central, clean and well maintained. I found the staff to be friendly and efficient and they spoke English.
it was central for all of the city and sights the breakfast
Staff were very helpful. Location right across the street from the train station was perfect for my needs. If I have to be critical it was quite noisey (traffic noise), but that is to be expected given its city location.
good hotel, central location - can walk to all the site seeing spots. internet did not work :( but they were fixing it.
Close to the city centre. There was no toilet brush in the bathroom and internet in the public area was not working always.
tidy clean room and generally good facilities no
Very good location. Clean room. Good for budget stay.
There was nothing outstanding about this hotel. We were touring and it happended to be in the area we wanted to stay for the night before moving on the next day. room was clean and comortable Staff didn't smile much and there was a foul smell in the public areas. It wasn't in our room.
Staff was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay. The walk to the center would be long for most Americans but it was very nice.
Extremely close to a nice big beach. Quiet and peaceful area. City centre is easily accessible by foot. Nothing essential. Triple room could be a bit bigger. Not spacy enough for a long stay.
Room had a nice veiw Poor access to parking. No English films on TV. No fridge. Room had Twin beds not a double bed as booked. Very uncomfortable.
good bed bad shower, low water pressure
The room had a view to the Mediterranean and the balcony for sitting, relaxing was great. It was within walking distance to beach and town. we were able to hear noise from other rooms, especially suitcases and showers.
very close to the beach; free wireless internet; good room for the price it is very far from the city center. 15-20 minute walk from the roman tower/old city
The integrated restaurant / shop. They offered fresh dishes and value for money.
Free WiFi, very close to the beach, clean and quiet room.
Cleanliness of the rooms, efficiency of the staff, nearness to the beach, quiet neighbourhood. It was a bit far out of the town for a winter city break. Would be lovely in the summer to enjoy the beach.
Hotel was very nice and clean with ample pool area. Breakfast was very disappointing and would not recomment it as this is an all inclusive hotel, I would not consider this hotel for an all inclusive deal based on the breakfast buffet. La Pinda as a resort was very disapponting. Good bus service which helped. Breakfast was very disappointing. The resort as a whole was very disappointing, with little choice of resturant or night life. Spa break as advertised was just access to the spa and nothing else. I think the spa element in the advertisment was misleading.
Food, services, clean. noisy
The chicks at reception are sexy and nice, a rare combination! Breakfast is only till 10.
Only access to rooms was by lift, no staircase. Reception staff nice and polite, resturant staff rude.
The location of the hotel was fantastic There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room which as self catering meant you had to get up and go out for a drink first thing in the morning.
Calidad precio fabuloso, muy familiar. El servicio impresionante.
very short breakfast\dinner`s time for this big hotel.:(
The rooms were kept very clean and comfortable but a little tired and out dated. The restaurant was shabby and very noisy and unable to deal with the volume of people efficiently. Restaurant staff were particularly miserable and abrupt but, the food was good and there was a wide selection each day. The pool bar and pool area was kept really clean and the staff there were friendly and helpful, not enough beds around the pool and didn't enjoy the fight with the Russians to get one at 8-30 in the morning! All in all this is not what I would consider a 4 star hotel at all yet they are charging 4 star rates.I also think it is worth mentioning that during our stay only 3 out of the 450 rooms were occupied by non Russian guests!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at hotel, the staff at the reception were very helpful. We found that the tables in the dining area were a bit too close to one another and also the satelite tv in room didn't have enough English channels.
