Overview
The upscale Peaks Resort and Spa offers a great ski-in/ski-out Mountain Village location and is one of the largest and most amenity-packed properties in the Mountain Village and Telluride area. The huge mountain lodge features endless entertainment and appeals mostly to families.
Perched 800 feet above downtown Telluride, The Peaks Resort and Spa is in Mountain Village, near the ski slopes where the gondola serves as the main transportation between the towns. Mountain Village caters only to tourists through easy access to slopes. Built like a European skiing village, the town offers a handful of different plazas packed with restaurants, bars, and other entertainment. The prime location on the far end of Mountain Village means that the town attractions are just a short drive away, but the views are endless and dramatic from the decks of the resort.
The destination seems to favor skiing, but the resort is definitely meant for relaxation through many amenities. The resort offers a 42,000 square foot spa and fitness center with tons of treatments and classes, it is also one of the largest in Colorado. The indoor/outdoor pool offers fantastic views and a waterslide, and the on-site golf course and tennis course provide another sport for guests to enjoy. Several dining options are available and include a seasonal breakfast buffet, coffee shop, and a year-round restaurant offering local fare.
Accommodations are large, spacious, and upscale, ranging from guestrooms and suites with modern amenities. They feature a contemporary mountain feel, with standard features such as plush bathrobes, mini-fridges, and iPod docks. There are two types of suites, Alpineglow and Grande, that families enjoy because they offer more space.
