The whole experience. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The staff and food were excellent and the rooms were furnished to the highest standard It would be very hard to find any fault with this hotel!
everything, especially the extra touches - bottled water, hot chocolate, homemade biscuits, additional toiletries etc
The staff were extremely pleasant, attentive and eager to please. Atmosphere in the main public area bar and restaurant was lovely and welcoming. Food was good value. Local beer was even better..... Was a little further from civilisation than I thought, but that wouldn't stop me from booking there again.
The fantastic friendly staff, the view out our window was amazing, a country pub with very modern rooms
Homely, popular local pub Quite pricey for what you get
The rooms are gooooooood.
Very quiet & comfortable room. Bar meal at night very nice in the bar. Atmosphere very good
A very pleasant overnight stay - great view, good food, friendly staff. Modern facilities in accommodation and nice old bar. Room and bed quite small. Coffee from a machine for breakfast.
Very comfortable room wonderful view from room and beer garden. sunset was outstanding. good range of beers and ciders. dinner and wine were fair, all staff very good especially john Non really, we stay at many B.b inns, this was well above average
very comfortable, clean and quiet bedroom
The hotel is in the process of being renovated, but despite this we enjoyed the stay.A car is essential as it is afew miles outside Tenbury. There was no entertainment but that suits us.Also we were allowed to take our small dog, which the staff all loved.
The Talbot Hotel is in a lovely, quiet rural setting (though it is on a main road - it didn't bother us), with a bar frequented by locals and resident dog. The staff were friendly and sorted out our room after an initial mix up with the booking. The food in the restaurant was really very good - excellent chicken & bacon risotto and huge portions. We certainly didn't go hungry and it was very good value. Great choice of breakfast (full cooked breakfast, salmon and scrambled eggs, vegetarian etc) which again was excellent. Overall a comfortable, clean, friendly and great value hotel if you are travelling through the area. I would happily stay there again.
Very friendly owners and staff. Excellent food. Comfortable rooms. Great location for sightseeing around Shropshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire. Superb value for money. Animal friendly. No bad points to comment on.
The family running this hotel couldn't have done any more to make us feel welcome during our stay. It was like home from home but without our children running around. The whole atmosphere and friendliness made the stay. There were no bad points other than the bed was a little firm.
Very friendly staff made us feel very welcome
Excellent food. Very friendly owner and team. 5 star breakfast including a veggie option. Our son loved to play with the dog (Max) and kitten (Tibbles). Comfortable bar with good selection of drinks.
The staff were really friendly and having a choice for breakfast we thought was brilliant. THe tv didnt work in the bed room but it didnt ruin anything
Fantastic food friendly staff nothing too much trouble None
Very homely attmosphere, great hospitality,They could not have been friendlier None
Very friendly, beautifully presented "period" hotel
Good wine list. Efficient staff in bedrooms and on reception. Grounds / location excellent Food was good but why not leave vegetable dish on table.
Good facilities, including use of leisure centre
The bed was just not comfortable.
clean hotel, quiet location, good cooked breakfast i did read the reviews of this hotel and the only negative thing was the bed, which proved to be correct, the bed in room 5 was rock hard with no give giving two night uncomfortable sleep,i did report this on deaparture
Staff No video / DVD
My husband and I were most impressed with the hotel and thought that the service, food and freindiness of the staff were excellent. This was our second stay at the hotel and would safely recommend the hotel to anyone considering a stay. Absolutely none all expectations were met and exceeded.
Lovely staff and the sausages at breakfast were yummy. Bed a tiny bit hard
On a very cold weekend it was really warm inside. The staff were very friendly. The bathroom needed a bit of a re-vamp
The room was nice and facilities were great.
breakfast was cold and disorganised
The Feathers is ideally placed in the centre of Ludlow which was really helpful as my husband has limited mobility. The staff were superb, friedly respectful and nothing too much trouble. Food was to die for -wonderful and our room was luxurious and spotlessly clean. will certainly visit again. Well Done !! Enjoyed everything!!
The friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness The meal we had in the dining room on our first night at the Feathers was extremely disappointing. The meat was very tough and overcooked and although we both ordered lamb I had to ask for a different knife as I was unable to cut through the meat with the cutlery provided.
the restaurant we went to nearby.the reason for our visit.the hotel was only average.geat location. needs modernising.old beds/carpets.needs some money spent on it.
Fantastic sized room in keeping with the lovely period property. Bed extremely comfortable and huge bathroom.
Central location.Comfortable room.
The hotel was way past "shabby chic". The room was very dirty but I did complain and was told this was unusual and have been offered a free stay so I shall see. However the hotel could do with a lick of paint!
I had seen the hotel from the outside on a previous visit to Ludlow and decided I would like to stay there, Therefore it was the beautiful architecture and sense of history which I liked best. Our room was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated with plenty tea, coffee etc. The breakfast was excellent and staff very friendly and efficient. We had no problem getting a space in the car park. All in all a very pleasant experience. I was very satisfied with everything. However, we would have liked to have dinner in the restaurant but thought it was rather expensive.
suite which we booked at The Feathers - very comfortable, plenty of room, and good facilities. Good full English breakfast.
The location and character of the building was what i was after.
The location Parking
Excellent food, good wine, friendly, knowledgable staff, comfortable bed We did not think that the lounge area was that inviting -
Large comfortable bed. Walk in shower
the food and attentive starff and the relaxing feel the hotel gave. nothing
Courteous staff and excellent quality accommodation.
Everything - service was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms and fodd were high quality
Beautiful house, beautifully renovated with every attention to detail. Food is amazing and staff are lovely.
Personal touches, such as the home made biscuits & fresh milk for room made Tea and Coffee and friendly staff always willing to help.
The ambience abd views A lite bite / bar menu at a more competitive price
Excellent food and staff who seemed to genuinely care about the service they offered.Although the hotel had opened only 10 days prior to our visit, it did not affect our enjoyment.
I enjoyed every aspect of the hotel from the car park to the very helpful staff. Rachel in the evening and at breakfast was great along with the wine waiter. n/a
The beautiful view of River Severn and the wonderful food in restaurant Had to leave hotel at 0830 but unable to obtain cooked breakfast before this 0900
View, silence, helpful staff, central location, facilities in the room; the food Late start to breakfast [9am]; lack of car parking facilities
The food is very imaginative, with the menu changing to reflect the seasons. All ingregients are locally sourced. Breakfast only available from 8am. If one has an early meeting in Birmingham, as I often do, then breakfast is very rushed.
Nicely situated very quiet cutte country hotel with moderen clean rooms.
The staff were excellent, especially the Bar Staff in the evening on arrival. He was extremely polite and helpful throughout. The room could possibly of been a little cleaner as there were a fair few cobwebs scattered around!
location by the river, friendly staff, good food lack of directions made it difficult to find, lack of a comfortable chaire to sit on
Friendly staff; good pub atmosphere
the room was superb and stunning the location, the food was great and the hotel staff very helpfull, the bar was frienly and prices reasonable
The site next to the river. The comfortable rooms. The friendly staff The great atmosphere in the pub. The excellent breakfast. The Wye Valley Brewery Hereford Pale Ale - the best beer I have ever tasted - and I've tasted a lot!!!!! Minor quibble - staff smoking while they checked us out.
Excellent bar and restaurant, with a 'locals' atmosphere, both staff and customers made us feel part of Bewdley.
The close proximity to the Castle and Town. The room we used..Castle.. was small and is need of updating as is the rest of the Hotel....in particular all the floors and doors creak....the outside Garden room we were offered was cold...we were subsequently offered an "upgrade" to the Castle room!
Nice quiet location with view of the castle. Excellent food. Staff parked in the 'residents only' car park forcing us to park on the street. Not a 'customer friendly' practice.
staff surly and rude.Accused by manager of smoking in room. Nothing said until we got home and a £60 charge taken without authorisatain from from our credit card. When challanged added extra room rate of £195 as he alledge couldn't re book room.I have taken action with bank under data protection act how they could debit my card without authorisation.
Friendliness & helpfulness of staff. Exvellent food, breakfast and dinner. Very nice situation. Not really. Some draught beer or lager would have been nice. Also a floodlight shone into our room all night. It was switched off at our request for the following night.
We had a very nice quiet room; the complimentary sherry; and the cxonvenience to the town centre Breakfast on our first morning (20 July) seemed a bit chaotic, with people having to ask for things and not getting what they required
Beautiful hotel in beautiful setting. The rooms were very nicely decorated and homely. Staff were very friendly and helpful/
charming friendly staff. tasteful and comfortable furnishing.
The quality of food was superb, particularly at dinner
Staff were always polite and helpful. Facilities and food were excellent. There was an easy, relaxed atmosphere which allowed us to unwind in comfortable, warm surroundings.
The food was pretentious and inadequate. It certainly did not add up to a satisfactory Dinner. On the second evening I went out to eat.
Room clean and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Well placed for visiting the area En-suite required attention - grab bar in shower was rusting, grout was dirty, seal around shower tray looked mouldy. Restaurant and bar both stopped serving meals early on one evening due to lack of custom.
Excellent service in all areas : reception, restaurant, bar and chambermaids all extremely helpful!!! Without air con my room was uncomfortably hot , although a fan is supplied
The hotel had a lot of character and seemed to be in a nice quiet location. It also offers smoking rooms as well as non-smoking. The staff were very polite and helpful when needed and unobtrusive when not. There was no shower and blankets instead of a duvet which I found uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the car park forms part of a general access to a supermarket and I found that my car had been damaged overnight by what looked like someone jumping on the roof. The booking process also assumes a non-smoking requirement even if you type in that you require a smoking room.
The size of the bed and the heat in the bathroom on a staggeringly cold evening! We thought the breakfast was seriously overpriced.
Clean, great location
A lovely historic hotel, with good food and very helpful staff. There was no shower but the bath filled quickly!
We visited the area for a friend's child's christening and found the family room (for 3) large, comfortable and clean. The room looked to have been recently repainted (so much so that one of the wardrobe doors was still jammed with gloss paint!).Cooked breakfast was generous, albeit a little bland. There was a lot of noise from an event (wedding perhaps?) downstairs - It wasn't too bad in our room, but on the 1st floor landing it was loud at gone 11 and it must've been terrible in some rooms in this area. Our bathroom was clean, but rather weary looking.
It was a convenient stopping point for my journey. The room was very small and dated although quiet, and the hotel restaurant lacked any atmosphere and was also dated although the food was ok. It was not an inspiring place to stay
Nice hotel. Traditional feel. Very good breakfast. Friendly staff. Creeking floor boards, and creeking bed!
Nice friendly comfortable hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Good location in centre of town. Would have liked local traditional cider on sale at bar either bottled or on draft.
Delightful country hotel within easy reach of ludlow. The Degustation menu for dinner was superb and staff always attentive to us. Will definitely stay here again One or two very minor snags in the room which some people might get upset about - but then some people get upset about anything, and I feel it's all part of staying in an old building. Nothing to detract from the enjoyment of the stay
Godd food and beautiful surroundings
The food was excellent and was extremely an example of fine dining. A total lack of atmosphere at dinner. Whilst we understand it's a quietish time of year there was a distinct lack of staff, and I didn't appreciate not being able to get a decent glass of wine in the bar at about five-thirty (I asked for a good Chardonnay and was offered Pinot Awful!) During the very expensive degoustier menu, there was total silence, like being in a church, not conducive to a relaxed and enjoyable meal, I hate eating at a whisper. When one is staying for one night at a total of £300 plus, we were disappointed by the lack of customer care that I would expect to put one at one's ease.
Very peaceful and relaxing hotel
A wonderful old style country hotel, decorated to a good standard but leaving many of the orginal features in tact. Lovely new swimming pool complex. A rather limited menu selection
Staff friendliness. Compulsary to eat in the hotel restaurant for one night over the weekend - albeit a very good restaurant.
as above restricted price range in restaurant
We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, the beautiful location, and the comfortable rooms Food was excellent but we could not do justice to the menu each night . Would have welcomed a lighter option some evenings
Very pleasant location, quiet, very clean, friendly staff. The food was excellent but the set menu deterred us from eating there for more than one night. The meal was delicious but the full menu was too much (food) for us and at £42.50 per head we did not feel inclined to skip some courses. We would have liked to have been able to order a light meal on some evenings.
Excellent Hotel, attentive staff and exceptional food and we enjoyed our visit thank you
