Very family friendly, with excellent facilities for children. The location directly on the beach makes in very convenient to switch between pool and beach.
Nice hotel, good facilities, although didnt know it all activities for kids would be run in Scandinavian!!! There is a nice restaurant just outside front gate called The Sugar Cane, great Thai food and kids menu, recommend you eat there at least one night. Also in hotel Fino was very nice restaurant. The La Tasca buffet was OK, but nicer to eat local stuff outside hotel and much cheaper, unless you are all inc. Nothing in way of English activities for kids, which they were looking forward to.
The staff were extremely friendly & helpful and most spoke english very well, which made life easier. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a Deluxe Villa closer to the beach at no extra cost. Every evening the bed was turned down & homemade cookies left in the villa for you. The most amazing thing was on the day we checked out. (Check out was 12pm & our flight was at 6.30pm.) The staff securely stored our bags, arranged transport to Patong for some last minute shopping and then offered us the use of an unoccupied villa for a shower to freshen up before our departure (which was a godsend, considering how hot we were after shopping). No resort in Australia would ever offer you that kind of service (no matter what star-rating they were). My husband did complain alot about the extensive number of stairs we had to climb between our Deluxe Villa and the restaurants, pool, beach, etc. So I had to keep reminding him that the villas were set into the hillside for the fabulous view. Even though the food in the hotel's restaurants was wonderful, it was alot more expensive than other places that we'd been in Phuket.
The place is fantastic...Location is very good... I recommend this very much to couples who want to be in an amazing location in the quiet...and yet 20 min away in a taxi from the live music and crazy life of night life Loved everything
The beach was beautiful and tranquil. The resort was very quiet. The bungalows were situated on a steep hill. You had to climb high stairs to get anywhere in the hotell or your room. Not what you want to do in really hot weather with children.Did not like the poolarea. The hotel was a bit run down. Not worth the money!
It's proximity to the beach is fantastic and the breakfast was quite nice too!The staff were courteous and friendly. The hotel is very dated..We have stayed at other hotels on Surin beach for the same money and the standards were a lot higher. It was not what I expected of a Chedi group hotel..or what I would expect of a hotel of that price in Thailand.Thankfully as it was low season we were upgraded to a superior cottage but had we remained in the hillside cottage I think we would have been aswell off to have stayed in The Twin Palms or The Manathai as the proximity to the beach would have been the same. The hillside cottages are litterally that...cottages on a hill set back from the beach, reception and all the facilities.
The tranquility, the private beach, the positive and fair staff The deluxe room is a bit too small, and the light come in in the morning through the "bathroom-windows".
The private beach at Surin was excellent + staff of the hotel available for any assistance always A lot of stairs especially when I have to manage my daughter and baby troleys
The beach was the best part of this resort. Our room was directly on the ocean, and private pool was wonderful (tho it was never really clear). Our pool wasn't working properly the entire time we were there. There was construction above our cottage room, and it was difficult to use the outdoor shower without getting looked upon.
The rooms were spacious and the shuttle service made things quite accessable. The service at the restaurant was not too good. There was one chef in particular that was very unfriendly. Don't know his name, but he was on duty the morning we checked out (14/4/2010).
Hotel appears to be run down and needs investment in good people - good management and staff - and also a financial injection for a refurbishment and upgrade.Staff have not dealt with nightly noise problem from thousands of screaming birds which keep guests awake throughout the night.Overall stay was somewhat disappointing and we we will not return. Scruffy appearance of beach club/reception area /main pool/cafe areas and poor facilities.Staff appear to be demotivated, management is not visible and the birds are more valued than the guests. When I complained at reception,I was asked to write a letter to the manager. The bird problem needs addressing and should not be dismissed in this way.
Warm staff, efficient reception. F&B outlets hardly patronised, breakfast was the same for 4 days without even small changes to the menu. Kids Club was closed. No in-house hotel activities.
Location, part of integrated Laguna hotels. Transfers bu Laguna boats is really good idea. We spend a lot of time and had lunches/ dinners in other 4 -5 hotels located on the same Laguna area. And paid extras. Poor breakfast, poor dining and all facilities are in bad condition. Everything needs upgrading. Hotel is splited by road ( heavy trafic ).Do not recommend !!
The Laguna complex is very convenient with a diverse range of hotels in one captive area and all an easy stroll within reach of the Allamanda as a base. The pools are very relaxing and breakfast whilst limited is a good start to the day as it is inclusive. We booked an extra bed in the room for our 13 year old and had to go to the booking.com actual booking to prove it was inclusive. They had not allowed for it despite the confirmation. They did honour the booking after discussion and proof.
most of our experience was amazing room service came in boxes from another location and wasnt good but the prices were high the only resteraunt open was breakfast till 11am.yes there were others at the other resorts but sometimes we wanted to stay inn.
The facilities were good. The accomodation was clean and modern. The staff were helpful and friendly. The location was quiet and peaceful. A more modern TV would have been nice, and perhaps a TV in the bedroom also.
staff very friendly and helpful, location good, boat ferry and bus transfers very quick and easy to other resorts and beach
the rooms forva family of 4 with teenage children are great value the best in Phuket so far greAt value for what you get the hotel is under renovation so we were on the golf side lagoona instead of the pool side ..second time there didn't get my welcoming drink this year and the rooms are being sold off as private accomadation it become a condiminiom.
Peaceful Location away from patong beach and Staff were a bit slow and hard to find at times
the seaview was beautiful and the landscape was ideal for quiet vacancy I don't have any complaints and if i have the staff resolved it
A bit old :) The slope of the main entrance's a little bit danger ! Anyway we liked this hotel:)
proximity to the Bang Rong pier as we were headed out for Koh Yao island the next day. lack of halal food. quite isolated so to walk to other restaurants would take ages
Beautiful spot with wonderful view of sea! Great place to get away for some days, but not well located for touring, shopping, etc. Restaurant is good and the staff are so pleasant and helpful!
Very nice location. Perfect beach. Very suitable for families with small children. Nice pool area. Good breakfast. Fantastic staff.
The slides and the dvd player in the room for my kids had a bad experience after checking out when i returned to pick up my bags
Great hotel, good location, excellent food. Over-marketing of the Marriott Vacation Club membership
The staff were friendly and efficient. Restaurant and bars excellent. Outdoor areas, especially pool area and pool lounges, could do with a clean. Was advised only place I could smoke was at the bar - not a bar person. I always get a non-smoking room as they usually smell of previous occupants smoking (not an inside smoker myself) but would have been nice to be able to smoke on the balcony.
Breakfast buffet is very good and has many choices. The service is excellent The swimming pool is small
Cleanliness of the room and Kid's World was a great blessing to my family. My wife appreciated the cake on her birthday. That is very thotful and nice. The staff were friendly and courteous. I sense honesty esp when I misplaced my digital camera in Kid's World and yet it never left where I had misplaced it. The staff at the poolside bar was prompt to respond and very friendly. Well done! Breakfast was predictable and the taste of the food can be improved.I do sense that the mood in Phuket is down maybe because of the economic downturn, troubles in Bangkok.nation, tourist traffic down, etc. My wife did comment that the service staff were preoccupied and were not as sparkling in renowned Thai hospitality. We understand and we are praying for your nation and people.
The Staff , the location, and the tranquility, the local restaurants and food, the beautiful beach, 5 min walk through the park. the breakfast The hotel did not has its own private beach, but its only 100 bat for a chair no big deal 3 USD, No beach Bar !!! But close by the twin palms beach bar
The hotel facilities was very good and new. The hotel staff are very nice and friendly towards us.The facilities there were very new and also there are a lot of children facilities like the children world and the fun pool where there are two slides. There is a beautiful beach which is a stone throw away where my family could relax. location was a bit far from the centre and patong beach but everything else were fine.
Bungalows very nice and cosy, in quiet garden with nice swimmingpool Distance to beach (10-15 min walk)
The hotel was excellent and the food was out of this world. Very clean, everyone friendly and very efficient. Massage was brilliant, highly recommended. Pools and gardens were kept really clean and lovely. No but we have a compliant for Bookings.com. We booked a 2 bed apartment and a 1 bed apartment for our friends 4 months before our travel date. when we arrived the hotel only had 2 x 1 bed apartments for us and said they had informed you of this immediately upon receiving our booking but you never passed this information onto us. You told them it was upto them to sort it out with us, not good.
We stayed here for 5 days, beautiful hotel and we would definetly recommend it to everyone, it was quiet, beautifully laid out, clean, within walking distance to the beach and town and very comfortable, the restaurant which is on the hotel grounds is also very good.
It location next to saturday market. Got a chance to taste local flavor. My kids enjoyed the pool. A bit far from beach..15 mins walk. Would be nice if hotel provide feeder service.
The hotel is very nice. Staff is great. location is not the best
We stay in the bungalow, quite big and well decorate. The swimming pool is nice and clean We stay in October, the restaurant was close, can not have breakfast too, the bar around the swimming pool also close. We can only sleep. Not easy to take a taxi and quite far from centre.
The rooms are very comfortable, the staff is helpfull, the garden is very well maintained. It was a bit far from the beach, the reception was closed early.
We liked the size of the property - small and personal. The management and their staff were very friendly. Lovely clean property. We didn't know it was near a Mosque, and the 5.20am chanting for prayer woke us every morning! But we got used to it and managed to get back to sleep.
Only complaints would be: 1) the ongoing construction, which fortunately didn't occur at night, as it was rather loud. 2) shower temperature never got very hot (even after contacting staff to fix it) 3) bed was rock hard. Had to put the couch cushion on the bed to actually get a good night's sleep. Asked a few times to see if they could make it any softer, but to no avail. 4) could be cleaner. Sheets weren't changed once in our 10 day stay. Other than that, it was excellent for the price. Would consider staying there again if they fixed the bed situation.
