The Cliffs at Princeville - Princeville - Building
8.9 Excellent (514 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Nestled on a secluded bluff overlooking the Majestic North Shore of Kauai, the Pacific Ocean stretches as far as the eye can see; where the clouds come alive and dance in concert with our endless sunrise and sunsets, interrupted only by the whales, turtles and waves crashing against the shore. The views are simply stunning which is why at the beginning or end of every day you might find yourself drawn by the Adirondack chairs strategically placed along the ocean’s edge allowing you to ponder on the meaning of life, or simply enjoy Mother Nature at her finest.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The condo exceeded our expectations. It was very spacious and even had a washer/dryer. Very comfortable and a nice location.
4.8 Okay
Pros: Good location and condo was pretty typical of a spot in Princeville
Cons: Service. Front desk and maids were both very pushy and rude. On check out day even though we secured late checkout we had maids knocking on our door at 8:30 AM telling us we needed to leave. Front desk dismissed our complaint when we called saying more guests were coming and we needed to get out. For the price to stay here I wouldn’t do it again strictly because of the staff. For $300+ a night I’m sure we can find a friendlier place to stay next time.
Hanalei Bay Resort - Princeville - Bedroom

6.0 Good
Pros: The view was beautiful.
Cons: All the chickens! Plus, it was a long walk to the beach down a big hill which meant you had to walk back up! Plus, they did not tell us they only refreshed the room every other day, which would be fine but we like having coffee and had to request more.
5.4 Okay
Cons: We asked for our money back after it became apparent that the studio only had a super uncomfortable pull out couch bed. The resort seemed nice, and the staff was friendly, but for the love of God get the one bedroom! I could not believe they would have us stay on a bumpy springy pull out couch bed for 200+ a night! The Windham had a nice little studio right down the road with a REAL BED for almost half the price. Like I said the resort seemed really nice but DO NOT get the studio room if you value comfort in a mattress.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved it. Nice people. Nice rooms. Nice facilities. Wanted to lay in those beds all day. Thank you!
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Beach access. Amazing pool and hot tubs. The staff is amazing. Views everywhere.
Cons: Roosters crowing at 7a. Food is good but expensive, but expected at a place like this.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The location of this property is epic. The only drawback to this is the distance from the airport, plan on an hour travel time to arrive and get there from Princeville. The other drawback is the other side is over 2 hours away. Other than that, definitely worth it for us!
Cons: Could be a little fresher. Yes, it gets hammered by tourists but at these prices this place should be spotless with perfection found from the plumbing to the dusting.
7.1 Good
Pros: amazing room, location and view
Cons: Poor landscape and amenities and infrastructure is too old.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - Ocean view suite was beautiful. The room was spacious and had an amazing view of Hanalei bay - Hotel Staff remembered it was our anniversary and they made our trip really special - Hotel restaurants had amazing food and great service - Pool side service was excellent and fast. People helped set up chairs for us and moved the umbrella to keep us in the shade through out the day

8.0 Excellent
Pros: -Upgraded (without us knowing) to a 2 BR condo...nice if we needed all the space but there were only 2 of us. -In unit washer dryer -Lots of amenities (we didn't really use any though as we spent time out on the island) -Open right out front of our unit.
Cons: -Upstairs neighbors had heavy, noisy footsteps
6.2 Good
Cons: Unit was on the road, noisy to be in.
7.4 Good
Pros: Room has good circulation, so no ac isn't s problem! Pools are beautiful.
Cons: Seemed to have run out of hot water while filling the tub...Shower water pressure is weak.
6.2 Good
Pros: The main pool and lobby are nice. They provide you an ice chest in the room so you can take it to the beach.
Cons: Rooms need renovating they still have carpeted floor and the bathroom is outdated. As my wife and I tried to sleep early for an morning excursion there were several loud guests blaring music and having a loud sexual conversation. (Lady was talking about having a threesome with her hubby and friend) yes this was heard from our bedroom that's how loud they were. I called front desk around midnight to let security know but it seemed like they didn't show up until later.
5.1 Okay
Cons: Staff was slow and more concerned about everything else except us, phones, unwrapping boxes etc. Did not return drivers license after asking for it the second time. But did return it to our room several hours later. BBQ's were unkept ..... a dirty mess at 5 PM ... had not been cleaned in ages!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved how spacious it was. I loved how the kitchen included every utensil you might need without having to ask for it. I loved that it came with a washer / dryer in the unit, that was a nice surprise. The big bath tub with the jets was the icing on the already amazing cake. I will definitely return.
Cons: I didn't like that the pool and hot tubs on the premises had a 10pm curfew. It made it feel like camp or school and it was a big turnoff, especially since every time I tried to use the hot tub there were people there. Never got a chance to use it.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Location. Front desk. Full kitchen.
Cons: Very warm in the summer. No a/c. It only gets uncomfortable mid afternoon in the summer.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Loved the room and the pool
Cons: Nothing
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The accommodations, staff, cleanliness and location were awesome! Being able to stroll throughout Princeville and take advantage of the other resorts nearby was a plus. It was a beautiful location and I highly recommend it for the $.
Cons: The pool was freezing and it needs a restaurant/bar on site.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lots of space. Great clubhouse and pool. Well kept grounds. Quiet
Cons: Both beds in our unit were extra soft and this made it challenging for us to rest well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ambiance, service, staff. The apartment was very well equipped and had everything we needed
Cons: Location is a bit far from most attractions, but there are things to do nearby as well.

6.2 Good
Pros: Location is excellent
Cons: Almost all food was substandard and did not represent value for money. Parking can be an issue if you arrive home late. Lots of little maintenance tasks seem to be slipping. Hot tub at quiet pool not working and surrounded by unsightly cones an chain that spoiled the ambience.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff and facilities were excellent. It was close to Honalei Bay and the Na Poli trail. I would definitely stay again.
Cons: Limited shuttle, it did not go into town.
