10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place offered everything we had hoped for: very friendly and helpful hosts, a great room and terrace, a splendid view, nice activities to spend a relaxing day (e.g. the Kritsa Gorge, Lato, Ammoudara Beach) - an excellent way to start our vacation! We highly recommend a stay at the Villa Dio Petres!

Pros: One day at Villa Dio Petres only, but what a memorable stay! I happened to be the only guest and felt very lucky and privileged. The location is unbeatable for splendid views, Kroustas is a little gem of a village, and the lovely rooms and terraces alone are enough to win the highest praise, but it is the personality of the hosts that makes the place truly special. Their ambition of achieving Eudaimonia - something more than happiness, a state where fulfillment, human flourishing and well-being blend - and sharing the experience with their guests is inspiring. Regrettably, I missed meeting Hans but Jacques extended a warm and friendly welcome on behalf of both of them. I appreciated the conversations we had and thoroughly enjoyed the excellent breakfast) Thank you so much, Jacques! I do wholeheartedly recommend Villa Dio Petres and hope to come over again. On top of everything else, the area around Kroustas and Kritsa offers excellent opportunities for walking and the landscapes up in the mountains and around the plateau are breathtaking.

Pros: Everything was great from the beginning till the end, the hosts are very friendly, the apartment is great and has a fantastic view of the mountains and the sea. The villages nearby have some good tavernas.
Cons: I believe the double bed should be in the main room with the view instead of the two single beds.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Magnificent views, peaceful, lovely hosts, pretty local villages with authentic tavernas.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view was spectacular and the place was very quiet. The hosts were excellent and gave us very good advice on things to eat and see. We stayed at the double bedroom appartment and it was extremely clean and gets cleaned daily. The villa is between two traditional villages with tavernas serving excellent local food.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: The hosts were so lovely and welcoming. They made us feel like guests in their own home. The room/bathroom was immaculately clean, the beds and bedding exceptionally comfortable and the Air Con was silent. The real wow factor however is the view, which is breathtaking! The neighbouring village gives you a real slice of local Cretan life. We’ll be back.

Pros: There wasn't anything that could have been better. Excellent hosts, luxury accommodation for a democratic price. This is the benchmark for our future bookings
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming small hotel, more like agritourism, in amazing location high in the mountains with excellent view of the vally and the Mirambelou golf. Very clean, very cosy, very good breakfast. The staff, Jacques and Hans, which are the owners and creators of this beautiful site, are very friendly and helpful. The dogs are cute. Sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine, watching the sunset is a real experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners Jacques and Hans are simply super friendly, they help, suggest and support your requests! The location is very quiet and convenient for getting to the beaches and other interesting places. The bed is very comfortable and the general cleanliness of the room is very good. Large terrace where you can enjoy the sunrise. Appreciated the cooling system based on the heat pump, which allows a very low noise at night. Highly recommended.
Cons: Nothing to report.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely views of the mountains and bay from both balconies and woke up to birdsong- magical! We had the panorama room, which was on the ground floor and suitable for the disabled, but very spacious and light. The hosts were relaxed and friendly and gave us a wide choice of products for a lovely breakfast. You need a car as the building is a little way from the nearest village, Kroustas and a little bit further from the tourist village, Kritsa. Convenient spot for visiting the Lassithi plateau and Lato ruins. A good time to go if you want to see wildflowers.
Cons: One of the balconies was accessible from the rest of the building, used for hiking and philosophy tours on some days, so we would have appreciated a partition of some sort. It was also rather a steep drive down to the property, so we opted to park at the top and walk down, which was slightly inconvenient, but worth it for the peace and quiet of the location!

Pros: Very nice, clean and authentic hotel in the beautiful, idyllic small town Kritsa, located within the mountains but not far away from the City/Lidl/Beaches (10 min drive). Free parking, towels etc. Everything was PERFECT! Especially the heartwarming and gentle hosts made us feel really welcome and comfortable. Rooms with AC and handmade typical breakfast and dinner with fresh ingredients from the own agriculture (served at a very nice veranda). ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED! Thank you for being a great host!

Pros: This property is very well located. In the center of a pretty picturesque village Kritsa and a few kilometers from Agios NiKolaos with its superb beaches. Young and old alike will find their account. The acceptance by Argyro was very kind. Always present to help you. These small dishes were a real treat. We will be back again!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice clean, quiet room with effective airconditioning and a delicious home cooked dinner and breakfast under the grapevines.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very easy to find and well placed for the amenities. It was well presented with a pleasant garden seating area. The rooms were clean and well equipped with air conditioning and a tv if we had wanted to use it. Argyro herself was helpful and friendly and spoke excellent English.
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was clean and comfortable. The view from our balcony down the hill to the sea in the distance was lovely. The home cooking was excellent (dinner much better than the one we got in a restaurant in town); much of the food they had grown themselves or bought from local farmers. The owners were very friendly. The small fridge for our beer and picnic ingredients was useful as was the small clothes line at the end of the balcony. The dinning area was shaded by grape vines, had lemon trees and was very pretty. Breakfast was good and a reasonable price. The room was also a very good price.
Cons: The room was quite small - but big enough and the balcony helped. The hotel is near a road so you can hear the traffic. it is a rural town so the traffic dies down at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Argyro's rooms are impeccably clean, seemingly new, and located in Krista, a friendly village 11 km inland from Agios Nikolaos. Using the room as a home-base makes your stay even more relaxing as Argyro makes delicious, home-made, traditional meals. Hike the gorge, follow a little trail down to Panagia Kera, a Medieval Byzantine church with preserved frescoes, enjoy almond juice with cinnamon, sit quietly among the twisted trunks of really old olive trees as shepherds pass with their bell-tolling flock, and shop for beautiful crochet linens and weavings made in house all without the need to have a car.

Pros: Argyro was very warm and friendly. She sat with us many times to help us with our Greek. The meals were great and most of the ingredients came from their farm. A perfect base for exploring Eastern Crete!
Cons: That we couldn't stay longer!

Pros: The owner here is super nice and makes a great breakfast. Super comfortable room, had the best sleep in a long time here. I was here in winter when it was really cold. The heater worked well, but the electric blanket was a godsend :) Highly recommended.
