Cons: O
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Massive bathroom with shower over bath, plenty of towels and toiletries. Huge comfortable bed in great sized room, lobby type hall joining bathroom and bedroom with tea, coffee and kettle etc. Shared entrance hall which was very warm and makes a great drying room for any coats or boots etc. Separate from the main farm house in beautifully converted farm outbuildings so made it very easy to be in and out with my two dogs without disturbing anyone else. All on one level. Huge range of books, dvds, visitors literature etc. Would actually make a nice little holiday home if you ate out for lunch or supper cos the breakfast was fantastic !!! Superb value for money!
Cons: A little bit in the middle of nowhere but was perfect for an overnight stop for me on the way to Ayr. A dirt treader mat in the shared entrance lobby and in my accommodation hallway would have saved me and dogs treading wet muddy feet in... Otherwise I LOVED this place!
7.0 Good
Pros: Scenic, quiet location
Cons: hard to find
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Simon and Philippa were very friendly and welcoming. The farm is in a beautiful location and our son felt completely at home at Boreland. He was able to get up close with the lambs and other animals at the farm, and he fell in love with the dogs and cats - especially the poodle. The fact that the accommodation is separate from the house is a bonus as it gives you more privacy and as other reviewers have said, the breakfast is fantastic!! I very rarely write reviews but I felt that Simon and Philippa at Boreland Farm were such good hosts and the place itself is so lovely that it would be wrong not to send one in. I did wonder whether it was a good idea as I don't want it to be booked up when I next want to go back which will be very soon!!!!

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location in the middle of nowhere, with the walk up the hillside to the top just splendid, birdsong everywhere and loads of wildflowers.
Cons: I was hoping for complete darkness outside and unfortunately there was an outside light on all the time, so the famed 'dark sky' of Dumfries and Galloway wasn't able to be viewed

Pros: A lovely large ground floor room with a superb bathroom and walk in shower. They kindly let me park my car outside the room. It was easy to walk through to the pub/restaurant for our excellent evening meal.
Cons: Only a suggestion: the lovely shower would benefit from some grab handles so that the less mobile have something to steady themselves with.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The courtyard room adjacent to the beer garden and leading straight outside was perfect for our 2 large dogs and 19 month old toddler. Being able to park our car right in front of our door was an added bonus.
Cons: Apart from not enough choice of French Red wines by the glass, there was nothing we didn't like about this characterful hotel and friendly staff.

Pros: I needed a dog-friendly place to stay in the area. This hotel more than matched my needs (as it had on 2 previous occasions) I knew which room I wanted and this was available. Staff are super friendly and clearly dog lovers. Fabulous breakfast selection, excellent dinner menu. Eddie (my dog) and I will be back!

Pros: The staff were lovely, food excellent especially the beef wellington which was amazing and great value for money. Our room was in a courtyard and not in the actual hotel which was ideal for us having brought our nervous dog Harry with us. Just loved the whole place, it was perfect!

Pros: Absolutely fabulous with a wonderful host.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived at Scaurbridge House we felt relaxed and at home. Elizabeth Anne is an extremely warm, friendly and welcoming host with a fantastic sense of humour. Our Westie was greeted with fanfare and promptly presented with a hand made sausage as a welcome treat. The house is perfect in all it’s detail and we wished we could have stayed longer just to enjoy Elizabeth Anne’s hospitality more.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: This was like staying in someone’s house. A warm personal welcome from the owner and a lovely log fire on in the sitting room ! Very comfortable room and bed and delicious home made breakfast
Cons: Shame the rooms aren’t en suite although the bathroom was next door and private to us. The bathroom could do to be updated given the price charged.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this bed and breakfast is top notch – from the scenery just out the window, Elizabeth Anne's well-honed hospitality, the accommodations, and the breakfast - and I wouldn't hesitate to return.
Cons: My car's GPS and Apple Maps didn't lead me to the right place (Apple Maps put me into a field of sheep), but I found it straightaway when I tried Google Maps.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Elizebeth Ann is a great host.
Cons: It was very scotch
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very individual place. Owned by Elizabeth Ann. We were the only guests and she stayed up til midnight to welcome us - with a wee dram and cup of tea with shortbread. Very individual place - very Scottish decor. Room very comfortable - great view. We had private bathroom across the landing but as we were the only guests this was no problem. Very quiet village. Breakfast was carefully cooked for us - with freshly baked scones. Great experience - Elizabeth Ann also sells pearls which my wife enjoyed!
Cons: Nothing

Pros: The location is ideal for anyone wanting to relax in the tranquil grounds or explore; walking and cycling for all levels are on your doorstep. There’s a number of local activities & places to see, plus this is also a great pit stop for heading further north. The B&B itself is very comfortable with a feeling of luxury. A very comfortable bed, medium to firm I would say, with plenty of space in the room to store belongings and to relax. There’s a modern high spec bathroom to suit all needs. The hosts are on-hand to support without imposing and there’s a wonderful breakfast to complete the stay.
Cons: Nothing to add
