The staff were fantastically polite and the whole place ran like a well-oiled machine - I was provided with a varied choice of pillows when I asked to change mine and though the bed was a bit hard, I was comfortable enough. Fantastic air conditioning, great security and some of the best shared showers I have ever encountered. I'd come back here again for sure, and in terms of location and value for money, this place is AMAZING. Very close to the sunshine shopping centre and ikebukuro station to boot, with vending machines for hot coffee outside and even a small public park across the street, I don't regret staying here at all. PLENTY of food choices nearby too.
The only minor frustration was the lack of coat-hooks in the bathrooms or toilet stalls (for your dressing gown). Bath mats could be switched to some that didn't leave an imprint of the previous shower occupant's feet would be desirable. Once or twice the shower was cold, but this was because a staff member had forgotten to switch it back on after cleaning the showers (I was showering around midday due to jetlag, and they clean pretty regularly so I interrupted them on all but one of those cold water occasions - and they switched it on as soon as I asked). There's a green button on the top part of what looks like a thermostat in the shower room, press that and the hot water turns on in seconds. Wifi was pretty poor, especially on the extender section towards the shower area of the lodge - not sure if this was the lodge's fault or the general area's. My main frustration was the fact that the rooms on one side of the building (at least on the men's floor) were quite dark, even at the height of summer. In part this was due to a wall and surrounding buildings, but the glass was deliberately opaque, which stole a lot of the light that did filter through, and the tall plants outdoors also blocked the light, even though they would only be seen if you left the hostel through the fire exit (I'd remove them). However the opposite side was bright and had larger rooms - I wish I'd asked to move after a few days. If you don't plan on spending much time in the room, the latter point won't be a big deal, but since I take a while to get myself up and at 'em, and tend to come back to relax in the room in the late afternoon, it felt a little dim and depressing to retreat back there, especially with the room's lighting quite clinical white. I am being quite nitpicky though - other than the light (which isn't usually great in Tokyo anyway), everything else is constructive feedback to improve the hteo facilities
I loved staying here - extremely clean , renovated facilities , comfortable , hot showers with high quality shampoo /body soap and very friendly staff. Location is perfect . Extremely good value
Bedsheet didn’t quite fit bed so got untucked easily
The accommodation is a 5-minute walk from the train station. The accommodation is very clean and tidy. Housing workers are smiling and welcoming. The room space was enough with air conditioning and a comfortable bed. The room has several sockets for electricity. There are fridge , microwave , washing machines .
It is very clean and most of the amenities are available for free, including two towels and mineral water. The staff were extremely helpful and nice. It is located less than 10 minutes away from the train station (Ikebukuro) in a very quiet and convenient area, with easy access to restaurants and convenience stores. I totally recommend it for solo travelers who would like to enjoy some privacy, it is totally worth the price. There are two separate floors, one for ladies and one for men.
It didn't have a kitchen, but there was a huge fridge, a microwave and a water boiler.
Location is absolutely the best for price - in the heart of Ikebukuro with everything closeby. For solo travellers looking for leisure, this is the best. Somehow still quiet and clean which is nice!
