Very disappointing stay at The Sorapia Tokyo property. We arrived around 1 pm on 3rd of September at this property with everything so messy and dirty but we didn’t mind as the official check-in is 3 pm. The cleaner, even with less knowledge in speaking English politely inform us to leave our luggages and come back at 3 pm as he needs to clean the room first. We came back at 3 pm with the clean room so we were quite impress. The mattress was too soft that we had back pain the next day but overall everything seems well until we left on 6th of September at exactly 10 am. To my surprise, I got an email from the property with invoice amounting ¥27,980 with the photo of the mattress that’s been “damaged” by us. I’ve sent an email that it’s most probably the previous tenants who broke the mattress and that they can confirm it with the guy who cleaned the room. However, they insisted that the cleaner said the bed was ok after the previous tenants left and that why we didn’t complain if we knew the bed was already broken. We are out most of days during our 4 days stay in the property. We leave the property by 7 am or 8 am and come back at midnight. We mainly just stay in the property to sleep and we didn’t notice that mattress was already broken except that we had back pains every time we wake up in the morning. We have requested a clear or a whole photo of the “damaged bed by us” as the photo looks dodgy and really suspicious but the property didn’t get back to us. Only to find out today, 10th of September that the property have charged me the amount on my card already and didn’t even bother confirming with me first. I have been using booking.com since 2016 for Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and Macau and I have not experienced this with all my previous stays using booking.com. This is worst experience about my stay for the past 3 years using this booking site and a really bad impression for my first stay in Japan.
Clean and comfortable
The location to any metro station is a little bit far
Everything was fine - the room, bathroom and kitchen were really clean and neatly arranged. The view from balcony was amazing, especially at night. The host is friendly and allowed us to change the details of reservation just before our arrival.
Everything. Quiet neighbourhood.
With a stay at THE SORAPIA TOKYO in Tokyo (Sumida), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Asakusa Shrine and Sensō-ji Temple.
