The Carlos was smack in the middle of almost everything we knew we wanted to see, and extremely close to a bar, Ludena, which is elsewhere named as having the best tapas in Toledo, and based on our limited experience (two days) I'd have to agree. There was one waiter at dinner who was downright rude - I've only travelled to a handful of countries spanning the globe and this man was rudest of all foreign waiters I've met. He was evenly offset by an extremely nice older gentleman at the front desk, though, and generally nice staff everywhere: hence my "good" score. Please remember to tip the maid a little extra for us: she was quite good but we forgot to tip her and are very sorry for that.
The room was very hot. I would leave the window open to cool it but would find it closed when I would return. I did not complain to hotel.
location was great. the staff was rather rude.
The location was terrific. I thought it was a little overpriced
absence of internet connections
very noisey all night long, both nights,
the location. we did not get the type of room we booked (got 3 single beds instead of a double) and were told that was the only room left for the night. the room was smelly "musty". the door did not shut in the bathroom. little to no natural light in the room. room was located on the ground floor in the very back need all the service & office area's. overall very, very disappointing and as it was a not refundable offer there was nothing we could do like change or cancel our booking.
Hotel Carlos V is well situated for visiting most of the town, cathedral etc.It was an easy stroll to the Zocodover Plaza.Very attractive entrance area with comfortable settees! There was quite a lot of hammering and work noises but I expect that was only a temporary problem!
clean hotel and non intrusive staff: clean rooms, the elevator worked
The hotel was in a great location. It was smack in the middle of Toledo's old town. It was about a 5 minute walk from all the shopping and restaurants. At night the streets of Toledo are full of young drunk British men and or unemployed. It can be a bit sketchy there at night and you definitely have to watch your back. All the tourists leave during the day.
The receptionists were fantastic, the bathrooms wonderfully clean and there was a pleasant feel to the place. Nice Spa too.
Nice staff at the reception desk. Very attractive Hotel with excellent Location and very reasonable room rate. A few small things that can be improved: 1) in a five star Hotel I expect at least two free bottles of water every day 2) no Kleenex box in the bathroom 3) staff was overwhelmed during busy breakfast hours. Breakfast items running out fast and being replaced only very, very slowly and after asking for them. 4) staff answering incoming calls did not make any effort to locate us in the breakfast room when an international call came in for us. As I said, nothing important, but should be improved.
very nice hotel , excellent staff the location of the hotel is very problematic while coming with a car , very difficult to reach the hotel
Parking garage adjacent. Excellent beds. Quiet close-in location. Friendly, helpful staff. 5 star hotel at a good price. Park your car and walk, everything is close.
Excellent location, great staff, modern luxury. Room was smallish, but well decorated with nice bathroom. A gem in the middle of an incredible old city. Staff very attentive and lobby and main area very impressive. No iron, room was a bit small.
This was a very clean, classy hotel. The staff was more than helpful and it was very quiet. I liked that it was next door to a little market which allowed us to buy juice and bread in the mornings.
Within short walking distance of the Cathedral, old synagogues and other sights. Comfortable rooms; well designed hotel. Good value. Excellent local cuisine in restaurant; fairly expensive menu. When driving, hotel was very, very hard to find in oldest part of Toledo (took us 1-1/2 hrs.), with steep hills, one-way streets; people on the streets didn't know of the hotel, or didn't know where it is; or didn't know how to get there by car. GPS had nervous breakfdown. Parking in the nearby garage was expensive (17 euros/night). This was the only Spanish hotel of eight we stayed in that didn't have a computer for use of guests. They advertise a spa, but only a very small exercise room is available free to guests; you can pay for a massage or sauna.
We loved this hotel. The welcome and service were warm and wonderful, hotel itself was classy but not stuffy, and everything was managed very nicely.
good location Little of original structure left. Unimaginative design. Heating of room could not be lowered
Location of hotel next to the Alcazar was fantastic. View from balcony was superb. Hotel was, in my opinion, not of a four star standard. Hotel was adequate in all respects but room was "tired" and needed brought up to modern standards.
we really enjoyed our stay at the hotle, the reception staff were very friendly and accomodating. Our room over looked the city and having a balcony was an added bonus. Location was excellent. We would definatly recommend this hotel.
very good location
We had a corner room on the 2nd floor that gave us a great view of the plaza and a nearby street from our balconies. We especially enjoyed watching the people on the plaza going about their daily lives as well as the two demonstrations that took place during our stay. The hotel was conveniently located so we could walk to all of the attractions that interested us. The staff was friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions even though we speak no Spanish and they sometimes had to struggle to understand us. WiFi was a bit weak in the room. It was faster in the lobby.
parking garage was close by located at the top of a major hill so walking could be a problem for some
Our room had a balcony and chairs with a view of the rooftops - great for a glass of wine. Beds were comfy and breakfast was plentiful. Room architecture felt medieval with the heavy wood doors and red accents, definitely fit Toledo! I would recommend this hotel. Nothing.
Location & kind staff the room was not equipped with a minibar
Great location and friendly staff. No WiFi internet and internet access not free. ALso beds are always twin rather than double in Spain !
Interesting hotel in a good area Smoking allowed in the adjoining bar
The location was perfect in the downtown area The room was beautiful and spacious and very clean. Parking next-door was very easy, and was discounted from €20 to €14 for hotel guests. The front desk staff was very helpful in planning our tour through the city, as well as with any questions about our stay. The room was air-conditioned, although it was a struggle to keep the room cool. The temperature outside during our stay was 108°F,
Loved the old-world style and was particularly impressed with the dining area/restaurant in the cellar which had the feel of a mediaeval dungeon.
The location of the hotel was excellent for a two-day visit to Toledo; the whole purpose of this portion of our trip. The staff was helpful enough when asked and the room comfortable and clean. The parking option offered by the hotel was very useful.
Good location although hotel was a little difficult to find. One room was below street level with a grill-type window. Very claustrophobic.
Very centrtal hotel with secure underground parking. hotel staff very helpful. excellent breakfast. No room service, so it would have been good to have tea making facilities in the room.
Position, nice room, private parking Staff not always kind
Price, staff, big bed. I requested a non smoking room, but was given a smoking room.
Location No elevator to third floor so we had to pull our own luggage up one flight of steps. Overpriced breakfast.unfriendly front desk
Beautiful hotel with lovely rooms in a perfect town. If you arrive at the bus station the number twelve bus goes past the hotel - wish we'd known that! our basement room was rather smelly, though our daughters' room next door was fine. Ask for a room upstairs to avoid the problem!
It was closed to most of the places we wanted to visit and the garage was very convinient next to the hotel. We could not reach the third floor were our room was by the elevator. the elevator only went to the second floor
Nice decoration Problems with WiFI
This is a chic, modern hotel in a beautiful old building. It is right in the heart of the city, walking distance to all of the sights. The staff were very welcoming, friendly, and gave great recommendations for nearby tapas bars, restaurants, etc. There was a point when the hot water seemed to decrease. It didn't cause us too much trouble though, since it was so hot during our stay. The cool shower was refreshing. We loved this place, and will stay again.
Friendly well-appointed hotel near city centre Hard to get there by car
A delight - as a solo, ageing, female traveller - not to be stashed away in the equivalent of the doghouse, but to be given a room that was, in its own way, really quite special. Thank you, Hotel Santa Isabel.
The location The room walls were too thin and you can listen other people TV´s
Location, value for money and roof terrace
Well located in the center of the old town. Has a parking facility for a reasonable price (10 euros) but be ready to drive in very small streets (you need to fold back the mirrors in several places). The parking is also quite small so you need to be very good at parking in small spaces between columns (easier with a very small car). THe view from the terrace on the roof is great. We were in a room in the older part of the hotel. The rooms in the newer section (from peeking in opened rooms during their cleaning) are much nicer.
excellent location - very near the cathedral - lovely terrace on the roof with fantastic view
Location, cleanliness, overall comfort Reception staff seemed indifferent (at best) -- didn't take any interest in greeting guests.
It was located in the heart of town, clean as a whistle and very comfortable. No
The hotel is located in the very center of the town in a beautiful ancient building. Good price-quality relationship. Maybe the room was rather small, although it didn't affect our impression of the trip and of the hotel itself. The staff doesn't speak English at all.
Superb location in the old town, interesting historic building that was thoughtfully modernised Excellent location meant that it was difficult to access by car and the garage was very tight and required careful manoeuvring - but helped by the staff.
Convience and location was good. The resturant noise was horrible. The noise lasted to midnight and we had a baby that needed sleep
Excelent location just beside the old city walls, very nice and helpful desk staff, the hotel clean, cozy, nice atmosphere. Very good and cheap dinners.
Simple clean hotel close to town centre The usual poor spanish breakfast. Not that easy to find by car.
helpful staff, good location the decor (everything was very dark) the smell of cigarette smoke
Great location; friendly staff and free parking on weekend. TV set in the room was too small. Cafeteria was usually occupied by smokers. Mediocre breakfast.
comfortable room, pleasant staff was ready to help you in any cases breakfast was the poorest I've ever seen at a 3-star hotels
the closeness to the centre of Toledo, all toiletries were provided, clean & comfortable, friendly staff finding it
Location to Toledo centre, train & coach links.
The hotel was fairly close to the city. very good value for money. we easily found parking on the street (3 euros for 18 hours). Very good experience overall Breakfast was simple but then again it was included in the price of the room.
Nice staff, good location and very clean
The hotel Abad has a very pleasing ultra modern design and is very easily accessible with free parking within a few metres - we will definitely return
Location, fit for purpose, helpful friendly staff Nothing negative but breakfast bit basic
Very sweet woman at the front when we arrived, spoke english, but also responded in Spanish when I spoke to her. Location was great. Double paned windows kept out the noise. View was very nice. Room was nice sized and very clean. Wifi worked great. Breakfast was spendy and the coffee there was bad. But there were several places within walking where you can get breakfast for under 3 Euros each. For that reason, I don't understand why it was so expensive to get the breakfast at the hotel. It was 8 Euros a person and it wasn't super fancy.
The beautiful romantic settings
Very helpful staff, nice decor and good location. The room could have had some better lighting
quiet, nice interior, nice design rooms small rooms, dark because of small window
Stylish small boutique hotel in brilliant location with secure parking close by. Charming characterful room. Adequate breakfast. Excellent value for money. If you like coffee then avoid it at breakfast!
The hotel is a nice base for a citytrip in Toledo. It has an original and intimate atmosphere. The third bed (for a party of three) was very basic and saggy.
The location is the best there is! Right within the northern wall of the city. Parking is free and easy access. The room is simple but clean. The building itself is historic.
It is located in a good place to tour Toledo There were no Tea or Coffe facilities avaliable in the rooms which was a shame as most hotels now have this facility although the staff were able to get us coffee when requested it would have been better to have it avaliable in the rooms.
Location and very quiet. Restaurant was very good Breakfst was poor and overpriced. Would have liked at least one tv channel in english
The location was excellent right next to the city walls. The staff were extremely helpfull and the hotel was splendid. The restaurant coped very well with my requirements for glutton free food. The gardens make it a peaceful oasis within a busy city.
Excellent location, very quiet. Old, old, old.
great old building and grounds. Easy to drive to. Restrauant food was great staff was indifferent
The hotel and grounds were wonderful, restaurant also worth eating at. Breakfast was not worth the money Staff were polite but reserved and not particularly helpful. We asked several questions about getting around Toledo and were given no help, when it was clear in retrospect that one or two pieces of information would have been easy for them to provide and they weren't interested in being helpful
The ambience was excellent as was the restaurant. I also loved the lanscape and garden. nothing
We loved everything from the location, architecture, to the history of this hotel. Top notch and beyond romantic. Having loved almost every facet the lack of air conditioning in 96 degree heat was brutal. There was an ac unit but barely worked and made sleeping next to impossible.
Location, environment There are three flights of steps required to arrive in lobby from entrance. Staff did not offer to help with heavy suitcases in either going up or down.
Great hotel, friendly staff and in the center of the city.
Ideally located to visit the city of Toledo. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The garage is basically unaccessible except for the smallest cars. That's not really the hotel's fault but one should be warned.
Perfect location, you can walk to all the sites. Shopping locations and restaurants are all around. Staff was nice, room was big with two bathrooms. Beds were small and uncomfortable. Free parking is non existent. If you have a small car the hotel has parking for a fee, but for a mid size and up plan on paying around 17+ euro per night to park elsewhere.
Friendly staff, clean room. Close to the historic center.
the hotel is right at the historical center
Good location. Room and bathroom very small.
The staff there were extremely helpful and nice. They really put forth great effort to help me out. The water in the tub and sinks didn't come out if someone else was taking a shower and for a day and a half the water was brown.
While the hotel it's self was ok, because of it's location on the main road, the room was very. very noisy. Only the noise.
On site parking and closeness to town centre without the noise, albeit up hill.
Friendliness of the staff No snacks available
location excellent, very clean. parking is a nightmare in toledo.the hotel knows this by trying to charge extorionate rates to use their garage.
We enjoyed the cosy atmosphere of the hotel and its location. The hotel is very clean. We liked everything
The location of the hotel - pretty views over the river and a bus stop just opposite which enabled you to get to the main attractions in Toledo. It would have been nice to have some cooked items at breakfast, however what was on offer was more than adequate.
Location, convenient parking, staff Small room. The telephon in the room did not work!
close to town centre
Being able to park at the hotel. It cost , but it was worth it.
Quiet location, access with car but parking problems at times, 5 minutes walking to the centre of old city Great views from hotel
The friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast buffet was very good. Room was clean and comfortable. Not in the center of Toledo but bus #12 stops right outside the door and takes you to the center of Toledo for €0.95, else it's a long uphill walk.
The location was great as everything was within a short walk. The bathroom was great and I enjoyed the breakfast too. Very small bedroom, barely bigger than the bed.
location was good. rooms clean. no ice, no airconditioning despite advertisement, loud noise from street since windows HAD to be open, no ventilation/air movement. ROOM WAS HOT.
the hotel was located in a good area to see the tourist items we came to Toledo to see. I would have like to have a coffee bar. and would have like to have a little bit friendlier staff, but people in spain I found are not the most friendly.
Staff really unpleasant, you are much better off booking at Eurostars (an example) for same fee Staff, TV did not work, views not existing, far from clean
The location of the hotel was ideal.
Location. Value. Breakfast variety was minimal. No parking.
Internet access I had specified not smoking but was assigned to a smoking room. Fortunately this was corrected but I wonder what would have happened if none had been available
toledo is a fantastic place to visit for 2 or 3 days. hotel is in a good location. friendly staff. breakfast limited. single room was a bit small with basic single bed
Continental Breakfast, Luggage storage after checkout, helpful staff, orange juice
actually the hotel itself is quite ok, Service is not good as before i checked out the housecleaner took my private stuff away without leaving a message! When I asked the reception who couln't believe my stuff was missing besides could not speak English. However I was lucky finally found my stuff back!
Free internet Better breakfast
The staff was incredibly friendly and the breakfast was more than adequate for the price. The walls were so thin. We could hear our neighbor's conversations through the wall and someone getting sick at about 5am. Bring earplugs to get sleep.
The location was great, right in the heart of the city. Close to shopping and all attractions
staff was accommodating and provided other information regarding the city
The helpful staff Noise
The reception staff were a little abrupt, however, we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Las Conchas. It is convenient to everything. no
Hotel is OK, rooms are small but people is very nice
Good location - spacious rooms
The location was perfect. It was right off the main square, but not noisy. The location was great. It was right off the main square.
Welcoming and very centrally located.
The position of the hotel, central for visiting the sites It was a little noisy internally , the walls must be quite thin and our room was positioned between two bathrooms and we could hear the people in the adjacent rooms showering ect., However the position negated these problems
The location was perfect. We appreciated the hotel letting us in our room very early in the morning when we arrived after a night bus ride from Seville. The lobby is worn looking. Also having to pay for 30 min. of wireless was not what we had experienced in any of the other hotels on our trip.
Nice rooms, and good breakfast. It is really centrally located in toledo - 5 min walk to main plaza. No wifi, and the typical spanish beds are too short my my 188cm height
pleasent hotel, friendly staff, and easy access to sightseeing
Excellent location right next to The Cathedral which serves as visible landmark to guide you back to the room without using a map. I did not try the breakfast and I did not see the bar open but there are so many places to eat and drink in Toledo you don't really need these at the hotel. I would stay there again if I return to Toledo. Nothing.
Toledo is a lovely old town with a wonderful Cathederal. It is great to explore all of the lovely streets
Excellent location. Helpful pleasant staff who showed caring. And had internet hook-up.
The location was excellent-just as it was portrayed. A charming little hotel that I would thoroughly recommend to friends etc.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful, especially with parking which is not easy in the narrow streets. Great location. Would recommend highly.
Hotel Eurico is in a fantastic location in the old city part of Toledo. It is very close to Plaza Zocodover, the Toledo Cathedral, and many cafes, restaurants and shops. Parking was a bit difficult as there are no reserved parking spaces for hotel customers. We parked downhill from the hotel, about a five minute walk, but it was free parking.
Great location, good value The holtel staff take a bit of warming up
It's a nice little hotel in a really great location (we could see the cathedral from our window), the staff was friendly, breakfast was very good for the price twice lower than in other hotels where we stayed during our trip around Spain. Most of the staff speaks English, some of them are very good at it. I did not take my laptop on this long trip, and thus I could not use 'free Internet in the room' feature. It would be nice to have a computer in the lobby or somewhere for the common use to check emails. This is not a complaint, the staff helped me to get my emails anyway, but if they had the PC for customers I would not be intrusive to them.
