Very good accomodation in a special environment. Top class location. Noisy airco.
The setting of the hotel and the historic aspect of the building itself were outstanding. We enjoyed sitting by the pool and our room was clean and quiet. We were very disapointed not to be allowed parking in the hotel or surrounding areas due to wedding guests. We had difficulty checking in due to the wedding in the hotel vestibule and on finding our room there were no soap and shower gel.The wedding party spoiled our pool and dining experience. The 'chill out' bar was closed and wedding guests children were allowed free run of the grounds. We dined in the restaurant which was very noisey from the wedding celebrations beneath. We ordered white wine and were given red and I was given steak with chips instead of potatoes. We found the whole experience far from the calm relaxing time we were expecting. I feel the wedding should have been more contaied by the hotel.
Beautiful hotel magnificently restored with really interesting pieces of furniture and antiques. We were travelling from south of Spain into France and the hotel was a bit out of the way from our direction but it was a very pleasant diversion.
Friendly, efficient staff. Lovely gardens and tasteful decor. Good size room and bed. Good food. Bath sealant needed replacing.
The position, grounds, ambience and ease of parking The staff were not very attentive and there was a lot of noise from the street until 04.00
Exceptionally beautiful building. Very friendly receptionist. Located right in the center of town, with free car park. Nice warm pool. A nice time travelling experience! No satellite tv. Food in the restaurant was a bit over complicated and as a result not very nice taste wise.
Everything, don't tell anyone else, excelent breakfast Restaurante menu too fussy, pretenstious, didn't try it
Room was very quiet and comfortable and the hotel was very stylish additional cahrge to access spa
We really enjoyed the quiet environment, the restaurant, the excellent service provided by the staff and the easy internet access The hotel was fine but we thought that the cost to play golf was excessive especially given that we could not bring our clubs from Australia and therefore needed to hire everything.
Organization and staff helpfulness. They gave us a room that did not have English language Television even though they knew we were English speaking. They had rooms with English TV but made no attempt to correct our matter. We stayed 5 nights.
Well designed hoteL (don't mind the appearance of the hotel) . Do ask for a room with view on the golf course though. Nothing to do with the hotel as such but our car got seriously damaged on the parkingplace in front of the hotel. Alas the perpatrator was unknown (no note left) and there are no camera's on this specific part . So better park your car in eg garage.
Good quality room and peaceful surroundings. We arrived a day early and the staff were happy to add on another nights stay at the same rate as the prebooked nights.
The staff were outstanding. Very helpful and pleasant. The rooms were luxurious, and the quiet was above average. The road/driveway leading to the hotel. It could also use a ramp to bring luggage up from the car.
Within easy reach of several popular beach resorts and yet being in a quiet location. Good sized room with terrace overlooking part of the course. Dinner expensive and disappointing. Free underground parking.
Spacious room with a lovely balcony/view. Nice big bed (not two twins pushed together). Very ugly and run-down appearance from the outside. Location was horrible (very far from the beach, and nearest town). Not at all luxurious (no furniture or amenities in the room). Fitness center was a joke. I would classify this hotel as a low 3-star, definitely not a 4. Elevators to the fitness center didn't work for two days.
Welcome of all the hotel's staff and manager very smily and helpfull Beautifull bedroom with high confort standard Very nice with children very good diner and fine wines, but some dishes not enough hot when served
The quietness and the scenery the following morning.
It's so convenient for everything; motorways, sea & beaches, cities, mountains,& some really nice resteraunts. I think the resort was designed/built for Spring/Summer/Autmn occupation;it is not easy to keep the apartments warm in Winter.
Setting, facilites excellent.a little far from th town. Lack of toiletries. no hairdryer
very good value for money, staff informative and friendly. suitable for what we needed - self catering apartment, adequately furnished. we had use of car so out-of-town location not an issue
Excellent design of the rooms, great landscaping of the grounds. Location near two supermarkets, so very convenient for families. Extremely helpful and friendly staff - we were lost getting there and the night clerk sent her son to drive around town until he found us. Other requests -for a corkscrew, to fix the hot water - were answered right away. We'll definitely recommend it to friends.
Very clean and quiet and well equipped rooms. Included an equipped kitchen and a washer and dryer combo. The grounds are neat and tidy with very nice landscaping. Internet did not work in the room. The staff repaired it, it worked one day, then quit again. I used the wifi near the office. Parking was on- street and sometimes we were not able to park near our room.
In a crisis situation when our flights home had been cancelled, the staff were so helpful and supportive, accomodating us at short notice. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. n/A
I thought the staff were very pleasant. We broke the plastic key and a guy came and let us in at 11.30. He could not have been more pleasant.
Friendly helpful staff. Good sound proofing to the rooms. Modern easy to clean accommodation. All basic cleaning products where there for you to use. Really pleased to have a washing machine when travelling with a small child. Kitchen was quite well equiped. Feeble shower - very low pressure. No towel rails or hooks in the bathroom. No drawers or shelves to put clothes in except at floor level and very high hanging rail. Impossible for children to put clothes away. No kettle/coffee maker in the kitchen.
it is an excellent summer resort. It has all the facilities one would need, a fully equiped kitchen. The rooms are new and confortable. The garden and the pools look very good. In addition, the small town of l'escala is a nice place to spend some quiet time on the costa brava. the hotel is difficult to find. We were unable to contact the hotel the evening we arrived due to a wrong phone number that we were provided in the confirmation email.
At another instance, the cancellation policy was not applied correctly at this hotel. I was charged cancellation fee, despite having cancelled the reservation in time.
very comfortable room that included a kitchennet; seaside vicinity; avalability of a free parking lot in room internet connection was slow; room soundproof was insufficient; sauna was out of order
Rooms have a tiny kitchenette with fridge, sink, microwave and two hot plates- there is a large supermarket at Delfin Verde camp site down the road. 10m outdoor pool and 8m indoor pool plus v basic gym (weights and 2 exercise bikes/ 2 treadmills). Good breakfast buffet. And few minutes from a massive lovely beach!! Fantastic Gym was v hot, saw one woman working out in her swimming costume! Resto slightly overpriced I thought.
confortable, large room with kitchen facilities, free use of indoor wellness installations and tennis court and parking, friendly service Part of the equipment of the fitness room was old and difficult to use, the sauna for men did not work. the season was not started in april: the closest food shop was 8 km away.
An excellent base to explore the Costa Brava. The hotel is modern, well designed, and well run. The Catamaran restaurant serves excellent food, beautifully presented, at very fair prices. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The surroundings of the hotel are a little depressing - empty apartment blocks and chalets, broken pavements, and a rather run-down air. Although this is obviously outside the control of the hotel, it does affect your impression of the place. It is a pity that such an excellent hotel should be let down in this way.
The room was very nice and very spacious so was the breakfast. Accidentally we got a smoking room that was replaced as soon as we asked. The dinner was nice and the whole atmosphere in the hotel made us feel welcome. The hotel is very isolated so eating out is not a real option
Location, proximity to indoor and outdoor pools quietness. We had self-catering accommodation within the hotel complex which was generally good but the equipment for cooking was completely inadequate
Very good place, 100% 4 stars. Excellent stuff (Leila and other receptionists does her best to help you), very good breakfast (2 types of sparkling wine, salmon), clean rooms - they washed our dirty dishes while we were away! Very good restaurant. Swimming pool is nice to relax. No regrets - this place was good. the sea could be a bit cleaner - but this is what you have if you have a sandy beach.
Very clean & comfortable for a budget hotel. The room, altough quite small in the roof space, had air con,tv,full bathroom, hairdryer & balcony ! The food was of excellent quality,& quite a good choice bearing in mind what i paid. Only grumble was the very early dining hours, but this is typical of a Spanish tourist hotel which caters for children & all nationalities. I imagine this hotel dates from the 60's. The dark blue & white exterior colour scheme doesn't really help 2 enhance it's appearance. Maybe a brighter.lighter colour would change the rather austere look.
good value for money, for the size and number of guests the evening buffet was fine. a decent choice and plenty. the hotel owner was very nice and helpful.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Nereida. The staff were very good and the food most enjoyable. We would certainly return.
Good value, comfortable (for price) room. Good variety of food. Nothing particularly
We were very impressed with the deal we got for half board. The meals were excellent with a good choice. We stayed for 2 nights so not sure if menus would be sufficiently varied for a longer stay. The hotel is conveniently located and our room was very comfortable. There is limited hotel parking but not available when we stayed and I believe there is a charge, but not difficult to find nearby free street parking. The plumbing was a little noisy but not intrusive.
Restaurant ,hotel position, service, friendliness, and excellent value. Rooms rather small.
We have stayed before 2 years ago, and love the position of the hotel, and the character of the old hostal part, now combined with the new extension and gardens. The waiting staff are excellent, discrete and efficient. Having booked 2 rooms in April,1 Family and 1 Garden, then cancelled the Garden and specified the Family room was for 3adults, it was disappointing to find we were not in a Family room, but squeezed into a Garden room & could not change due to the large number of conference guests
Excellent location and would have been beautifully quiet had not building work being carried out. Restaurant food delicious. Staff lovely. Would go back when work finished. Shower great! Should have been told about the building works when I rang as said I wanted a quiet de-stressing break with my husband. Room walls/doors could have been cleaner. Would have loved a kettle/coffee/tea facility in room and more pillows.
everything - the view/the beach/the staff - it was the highlight of our trip to spain & france. I hope to return again w/ family. the food was excellent - gourmet & perfectly proportioned but expensive - the only other places to eat are some distance away requiring a drive or the lovely walk to L'Escala
The approach from the carpark view of the sea through the reception area is teriffic. The location of the hotel on the sea shore if fantastic. We stayed in September and had wonderful weather and a sea view room. Excellent food and not too expensive. The reception manager Zaida who speaks perfect english was very helpful and kind. We will definitely return to this hotel. There was nothing we did not like
Location by the sea offering a fantastic seaview, good restaurant and a good starting point for visiting nearby interesting places. Difficult to find hotel especially in the dark. A GPS is recommended. If address is not found on the GPS, look up the hotel in Google Earth and get the coordinates. It's a shame that not all hotels provide their locations by giving coordinates. No TV in room.
The hotel manager was extremely helpful. The food at the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast - and the waiting staff - superb. A truly wonderful experience. The cleaning staff could have done better by checking that the toilet rolls were absent and the soap dispenser was empty. It was a small problem but annoying.
This hotel is right on an amazing stretch of beaches in a quiet town. The seaside rooms have perfect views of the bay and are a stone's throw from the water. There are walking trails and Roman ruins. The continental breakfast was great, the restaurant had a delicious gourmet menu. and the little bar just off the beach was a great place to grab a few beers and soak up the great atmosphere.
Fabulous place and area but room and particularly bathroom are too basic. For example no fridge for our wine, no glasses to drink from and no table on the balcony to put them on! See above
Most nice hotel I ever stay in my trip! Very special! Change the doorlock in 121.
Small and friendly, fantastic beach nearby, food excellent in restaurant paid seperately, very Spanish, pool quiet. Jacuzzi room beautiful but no outdoor area and facing concrete wall when small window opened, moved to another room still very nice but no jacuzzi but still good, but were able to sit out and we preferred this. We would go back as we have visited many times over last 15 years but wouldnt suit everyone as a long drive to get to it from main road through unlit fields. 5 km approx.
The room was clean and quiet and the food is fabulous and cheap! The free breakfasts are really a great start to the day. The hotel should have some beach equipment for rent...some simple little beach chairs and umbrellas to rent. It's not a great beach anyway, no shade whatsoever, so renting out simple, easily carried beach stuff would have made it worthwhile to actually use the beach. We had to drive a long way, everyday, to get to the beaches with shade!
for its class, this hotel is very well run in every sense, and it deserves the success it is getting for its restaurant qualities. none
Nice and comfortable rooms, location is very good: close to l'estartit but far enough to be relaxing and not too touristic. Also close to the beach! swimming pool and outside view of hotel was not very inviting, but for the rest is was excellent!
It is off the beaten track so aa very peaceful stay in an area that becomes overrun with holidaymakers in the summer. The airconditioner is limited I assume to conserve but shared a family room for four and could have done with a bit more!
Very nice place close to the sea. Good and cheap restaurant. Excellent to relax. Rather far from the city if you're not by car.
restaurant quality no
Good value, good room, friendly staff. Enjoyed the evening G and T watching the Swifts and Bats from the balcony. Outside needs tarting up a bit. Need transport ideally to get around.
Relaxed and easy going style of service. This hotel is in a country location and a car is probably essential as the nearest village is at least a 30 minute walk. The food was good and excellent value. The owner and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The exterior of the building could do with a bit of maintance.
Lovely hotel in great location. We will return at the first chance we can. Great beach ,nearly deserted midweek .Thanx
Friendly staff. Good restaurant. Close to the coast and to the towns of Pals and Petrallada. Ample free parking. Free WiFi.
Good parking To much noise inside, doors slamming etc, and a lot of traffic passing by
Overnight stop only therefore not much time to enjoy hotel pool or the town. However it is ideally situated for any family visiting the coastal area of Costa Brava and is away from the built up, tourist areas.
No bar. Decor is dated.
Clean and friendly hotel. Location spot on convinient for everything in Torroella.
room, pool and location
I only stayed one night, just to sleep, so I cannot answer very well. The bathroom smelling, it was not good at all. Maybe they had a problem that night.
the staff was nice but the room was simple, the bathroom was not nice
Small but comfortable hotel in the historic town of Torroella, very clean and relatively spacious rooms. basic breakfast but good. very good value for money
I was staying at a wedding at that time, so we just went to sleep and had breakfast. Price quality is ok If the guests don't speak catalan, the hotel staff should adapt accordinly
We had a poolside room and it felt like we had our own world. We had a wonderful view to the mountains and the pirate castle. The appartment itself was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent. We really liked it and would recommend it to everyone.
On the edge of town close to the beach the apartment was basic but very clean and reasonably priced. Nothing negative but a few things that you need to be aware of: You get all appliance and utensils on site but nothing in terms of complimentary items, no soap, dish cloths, washing up liquid, tea, coffee, milk etc.items that you either have to take or go out and buy. No electric kettle in the apartment. Tea bags out there are very expensive. We have just returned from an autumn half term break and a lot of the shops, supermarkets and restaurants had already closed until next year.
I was surprised how complete it was(washing machine, oven, micro, bath, safe, etc.) Nice view, good location.Free use of complete gym as an extra. For sure will go back there.
the water in the room (wash basin and shower) was too much chlorinated, we smelled with chlorine all the three days we spent in the hotel
We had an early flight which was made easy by staying at the Santa Anna hotel. a very relaxing stay, enjoyed using the pool and spa . rooms very well furnished and friendly staff. Free hotel bus to the airport.
Hotel very clean and fresh. Excellent breakfast, Car Parking very poor, and residents should not have to pay extra for overnight parking. Swimming pool and car park is very much a "work in progress".
A very welcoming hotel, well situated in centre of town but most convenient for beach etc. Pool and parking greatly appreciated. Hard towels and noisy doors.
the central location and easy access to the everything in the town of l'Estartit, the staff where very friendly and always helpful, although being in the centre of the town could be noisy at times, this is an excellent hotel
very good location and breakfast up on the roof !
Among the things I mostly appreciated were the kindness and availability of personnell, the internal parking place, the really good food and the acceptance of our dog at the hotel. It was a really nice and pleasant stay.
friendly welcome it was raining!
room was very clean/ hotel is based in the center of the city/ very confortable and "easy"/ great for scuba divers. breakfast can be improved.
the hotel was very comfortable, extremely clean and the food was very good. Waiters very helpful. Fridge in room was a big bonus
Friendliness of staff, great location and views by the Sea Promenade (currently being rebuilt after a punishing winter storm)
Pool and beach Views, all rooms terrace Rooms a bit old, curtains, cover
Very well positioned, on the "front", but quietly just away from the crowds.
