The room was nice on 2nd floor with balcony. AC worked well. Room and bathroom where clean. Staff was polite and helpfull. Breakfast included was good and it is different every day , we stayed 3 nights. But you don't have a choice, you get what they serve. Did not see any bugs at all
If you wish to relax and have a quiet stay, do not stay on Central Tulum. The bars are open very late, some till 5:00 am and we could hear the loud music quite clearly even with windows closed and ac on. This is not the hotel's fault, the rooms in the back might be less noisy. Never enough toilet paper left in room, they gave us more when we asked, it was just annoying
The breakfast was fine, typical morning fare when breakfast is served. Owners were friendly and the hotel had a nice outdoor area at the back.
The biggest problem with my stay at L'hotelito had nothing to do with them. Across the street there was a party place that would not shut down the music until approximately 5 a.m.. I got no sleep, so I had to move to a hotel a couple of blocks away. I feel bad for the owners of this hotel. Another issue was it happened to pour rain the second night and the palapal roof did not keep the water out. At 1 a.m. in the morning I had a stream of water coming down on my head. This was more of a humorous issue as I was not sleeping because of the noise, I had to move to the other side of the bed to avoid the stream of water, but this was due to a really hard rain.
Francesca, the lady at the reseption was not friendly, does not bother to speak in english, loud music near hotel every night, on the weekend it is specially loud till early morning, then if you late for breakfast she refuses to give it , though breakfast is the same every day some cheap yogurt with fruit and bread toast, I have booked this hotel for a long stay based on a good rating and location, though almost never slept there coz of loud music, at the last day of checkout I delayed with checkout for a couple of hours and the lady said we need to pay like for one day extra which was ridiculous and I refused, she called a police, we tried to explain the situation but they could not speak English, ending up in the police station and couple of hours to investigation finally they let us out but it was already late to go to the airport....
The first time in my life they called police for late check out when I refused to pay extra , very rude reseption who even dont speak in english , horrible cheap breakfast and loud music every day from the club
Centrally located very close to shops, bars and restaurants. Despite being on the main road the ground floor rooms at the back of the courtyard are quiet. The courtyard area is great for relaxing in. Breakfast was basic, but freshly prepared and was tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Only 3 blocks away from the bus station, which is in the same street.
