Good value for a weekend break for quality hotel. Secure parking good breakfast buffet. Whilst close to Metro only takes you to train station which is still a 15 minute walk to centre. Parking expensive a t 22 euros a night. Too far to walk to town and then explore. Noisy from traffic as on main street.
taxis in front of the hotel
the staff was great, and so were the rooms we chose the hotel because we thought it was in walking distance from downtown. In reality it was not as we arrived at a different train station. But it worked out pretty well as there is a bus just in front of the hotel and we were downtown in a matter of minutes. The people at the hotel were just great!
The garage Hospitality and Reception staff
Friendly and helpfull staff. Excellent Restaurant
The hotel is very convenience with bus/tram stop in front of hotel lobby and metro station Vinzaglio is right in the corner of the block (50m away). Good breakfast with 5 different flavors of fresh baked croissant. Free lobby WiFi (It's 30min per section. You can ask for multiple section). - The lobby entrance steps were not easy for people traveling with large or heavy luggage. Especially just went through Airport Express->DoraFly->metro with show display stuff in my luggage. - Phone inside the room doesn't have notes/signs about how to dial between rooms nor international calls. - Bathtub drain problem was really bad
The quality and location of the hotel Because I mistakenly thought I had paid for the hotel in advance, the female receptionist made me feel like I was refusing to pay the bill.
the breakfast and size of room the noice on the street during the night
Proximity to my meeting place 1) The room was smelling bad. 2) When I asked if the room had internet connection the answer was YES and no further information about how was given ... Thus I had to go upstairs to find out that I had to buy a special card and then come down again to buy one ...
I really enjoyed my stay at the Golden Palace, the room was fantastic!!!!! I was disapointed that the pool was shut during summer time for maintenance, bit ridiculous during hot season
Friendly and generally helpful staff
Room is as described. Very comfortable and hotel very well located. Staff was friendly and helpfull
The Golden Palace was beyond our wildest expectations, its a beutiful hotel with the very best of facilities and the staff cound not be more helpful and kind. We have traveled widly and found that the Golden Palace is one of the very best Hotels we have ever stayed in. We canot recommend this hotel highly enough.
Friendliness of Bar staff, Spa area, late checkout We had to move room at 1am as the heating control was not working at the room was much too hot
The breakfast was excellent, especially as compared to the Italian hotel 'standards'
very central and modern the architectural design and the colours are "peculiar" - all very dark... remembers the movie "Shining", just the child with the bicycle missing...quite expensive in general
big room in modern style, mostly indifferent staf, good location, nice spa
Good staff, pleasant room and bathroom, generally well-run. There is some very bad art.
It's modern and clean and maintains a high standard Not really
It's location and the had bicycles you could use to get around town I like softer matresses
Very friendly staff, comfortable beds and excellent breakfast! Fantastic value for money! Although we asked for a parking space, there was none available when we arrived.
Particularly the proximity to the Porta Nuova train station as well as being in the city centre.
Location is extremely convinient , rooms are well designed The Rooms are not Up to Date for a Business Traveller, no furthjer Information Booklets or yellow pages are available
The hotel was well placed for the train and for the airport bus. We were given a room at the back of the hotel as I had requested a quiet room, unfortunately people were very noisy returning late to other rooms so The room was stuffy and there was no air conditioning., The misleading photograph of the front of the hotel gives the impression that it stands back from the road whereas there is a very busy road immediately outside.
Pretty good breakfast, good location, fairly spacious room The minibar had only water in it, so you had to get your beer at reception. A bit more decoration in the room would have been nice.
the location and the staff
It was very convenient as it was close to the train station that connects to other major cities in Italy. Also very close to the tram that runs through the city. no frills hotel -- simple, basic and clean.
Excellent location, comfort room was worth the extra money, good breakfast buffet, comfortable bed
Common spaces of your hotel were quite good. Collidor, elevator, breakfast room, lobby were good. The location was excellent. The spring of the single bed was old and tilted. I have chosen non-smoking room. But Ashtray was in the balcony. It was bad!
Very much! comfortable and home autmosphere
Effective air conditioning during very hot weather
The hotel is conveniently central close to the main train station at walking distance from all interesting places. Staff is very helpful and professional. Getting there by car can be puzzling. The hotel seems to have been recently renovated. Of course breakfast cannot compete with what you get at one of the many beautiful cafes in town.
The hotel is within the city centre and therefore close to main attractions.
Nice location, recently renovated hotel, atmosphere of luxury Poor breakfast, no fresh food, everything sealed in plastic. And most important: the hotel has a system where the airconditioning only starts to work in the evening. During the day it gets very hot.
Very nice location, good facilities, authentic, clean, well kept rooms, good breakfast. AC system is centrally operated, Italian standards concerning hot and cold differ from mine.
amazing room, spacious, very nice breakfast, nice staff.
Very Good Hotel in a great location with a the appropriate Italian city style. The staff were English speaking, very friendly and helpful. We had an most enjoyable stay. Our room was smart and clean, though starting to look a bit tired. The air-conditioning worked, just, but was old and a bit noisy. The public areas of the hotel are very classy and in good order. Very nice breakfast buffet, plenty of choice, though the toaster was a bit iffy.
Very friendly staff, very nice hotel, good location.
The location is excellent just a 5 minute walk to Piazza San Carlo which is stunning, the Hotel itself is beautiful and offers an excellent selection at Breakfast, the Fantastic staff at Hotel Genova are very warm and always more than happy to help, we would definetely stay there again. Grazie
Convenient location, very quiet, adequate breakfast. Excellent restaurant nearby 'Slurp' left out of hotel and second on the left - English spoken and gluten-free diets catered for. No milk provided for in-room coffee. Special diet request on booking ignored.
The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The buffet breakfast included in the price of the room was plentiful and nicely presented; cutlery, crockery and tablecloths were beautifully clean. In our room, the shower was fantastic, the bed big and comfortable and there was a safe which was easy to use.
Standard of the room, localization of the hotel with respect to my purpose of the stay in the hotel. The number of non-italian TV programms could be greater. Although the amount of food at the breakfast was very good, I prefered to have more meat/ham food.
The hotel is very well situated; just 5 min walk from the central railway station. Clean rooms, quite quiet, good breakfast. If you get up late, not much food will be left for breakfast.
Very clean and welcoming
Central location was good. Simple clean rooms & included breakfast. Not good for business travelers - it was extremely difficult to obtain wi-fi and also could even get internet via internet cable.
Location and parking option
Cleanliness of my room, Location
very good location: bus stop next to the hotel door, airport bus stop pretty close, rooms well equipped, kind people at the reception, good breakfast no free wi-fi access to the Internet
The hotel is very close to the train/metro station. We were at the city to watch Juventus games and was easy to go from the hotel to the stadium using the public transportation. The hotel staff provided all the support needed during our trip. The breakfast could be better.
Entry system to room was unreliable, breakfast service was patchy with items (e.g croissonts) not being re-stocked.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Turin was a beautiful city and the hotel was comfortable walking distance to the sights.
nice location. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Lack of in-room facilities -- tea/coffee making.
Has basic amenities of a 4 star hotel. Just makes the grade
We always stay at the hotel chain City Centre.
Location Checking into hotel. Incorrect door card given. Entry into another room where another guest was staying. Returned to reception, door key card "fixed". Returned to correct room. Key card not working. Back to reception. Manual key given for entry into room.
Centre vicinity, Breakfast, sophisticated bathroom, My room was small
The few off the room -location- the price
Easy access to Central Station and Turin City Center Variety of breakfast isn't enough and there are a few world TV chanels & music radio stations at the room
A very decent hotel on the fourth floor of a traditional building in a quiet yet central situation. Ideal for visiting or shopping. Very good value for money.
garage very small and inconvenient. Price 20 Euro too high
Friendly staff, attractive hotel. On arriving at the hotel after a 5hr train journey at 9.30pm, I was told that my room was not available as the woman staying in it decided she didn't want to leave. They had made no attempt to contact me to warn me of this. I refused to look for another room so was given a sofa bed in lounge. Even though I was given a discount I thought this was utterly unacceptable conduct from an upmarket hotel.
Very centrally situated although not too noisy
helpful staff and a good central location in a quiet street with good access to buses etc The steep stairs in the room were a surprise. OK for me but could have been a problem.
Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful breakfast room, wonderful location, helpful map. Not enough blankets. The room was a bit small for the amount of furniture in it.
Liked the Location from the Down Town and Train Staition. Service was also very good.
Good location within easy walking distance of the historic centre. Plenty of parking nearby. Charming old building with plenty of character. Staff are very welcoming. Although the hotel advertises it has air conditioning, our room did not, and we did not see it in any other rooms. We stayed during a heatwave and the room was very hot at night and it was difficult to sleep. The bed was also a little hard.
Large room, attractive soundings, quiet block erratic, unreliable wifi connection
The friendly atmosphere and the quietness. Breakfast could have been better. The awkwardness of getting in and out from the street.
Excellent - by far the best value for money for any of the hotels we've stayed at so far - lovely staff and very comfortable rooms. Breakfast was delightful. Sometimes the hot water in the basin took a while to work!
Hotel was ok for a very short stay. heating in the room could not be switched off.silly things like no remote for the tv. very clean and the female receptionist was very helpful speaking english italian french very pleasant.
Location close to the train station
Friendly staff, clean room, close to the city centre. 5 min on foot from the airport bus stop
The public areas are attractive and our room was quiet, overlooking a courtyard with flowers. The buffet breakfast was good - great coffee machine! Above all the location is excellent, near the main station and the airport bus, but also easy walking to via Roma (great shopping) and the major sights.
Hotel is well positioned for centre on the right side of the Corso ( not the seedier station side.) Visited in January and rooms were well heated. I think the hotel wa going for 60s chic but didn't make it, It all just looked 40 years old and in need of upgrading. Breakfast choice poor. Manager had that old fashioned Italian disdain for guests whereby the cant even look up from what they're doing to talk to you.
Location is nearly perfect - close to the main atractions of Turin as well as Porta Nuova station. The streets around the hotel are safe, the people who stay there are from various countries. The Hotel has all the basic facilities, however nothing fancy. The breakfast is good, no problems with staff - they were friendly and helped with all the requests. No problems while checking in or out. There is a possibility to use internet and computer at the lobby of the hotel. The rooms were quite small and basic. Some parts are renovated, some a bit run down. Nevertheless, clean.
The hotel staff are very kind and helpful. I didn't like the bathroom, the shower has a lot of water but ther is no space for taking a good shower.
the hotel staff was very kind and helpful. Very good and rich breakfast, excellent location
breakfist.....crowssang and coffee was excellent!
lack of wifi outside lobby
Friendly and helpful staff, clean bathroom.
Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was plentiful and better than what we expected. Lack of blankets. We were a little cold at night, but I am sure if we would have asked extra blankets would have been provided.
efficient, no-nonsense, clean give out passport
Very good location, friendly personal Not enough plugs, light is rather poor
location, personell was very nice linings could be of better quality, shower was really too small
Very well-situated for all city attractions and for public transport (including to & from the aiport by bus).
Small but comfortable room, kind staff, very competitive price
Good hotel, not far from train station. Clean, nice staff, breakfast was ok.
in centrul, historical, we stay in that room where Napoleon stayed for one night. It is noise in the morning from the traffic.
Very central location, nice staff. Staff dosen't speek english, not very clean, poor breakfast without fruit.
Cosy, excellent location, friendly staff, free wifi. Clean. Aircon. Reception and rooms at 3+ floor (elevator was broken), for me it is OK but for old people or families with a small baby can be a problem. Always the same breakfast without meat. Staff is friendly but does not speak english. There is no cup in the room. No minibar in my room.
The localization is good. Hotel is placed on 3 floor, the rooms are very small, breakfast the same every day.
Central convenient location walking dist from main train station. Noise was the problem. Old hotel and the floor creaked horribly with every step. Walls were no help you can hear the creaks from the next room. Doors thin so you hear everything in the hall. The window open to the busiest street in town so very loud with cars. Really disturbed sleep. Single bed are very narrow too.
Everything was fine, and the stuff was very kind.
Loved olde ambience of the hotel, room small but tastefully furnished, helpful staff and Turin was buzzing on the evening.
A friendly staff and clean room. Breakfast was poor.
Frendly athmosphere, reasonable cost, Antique elements of interior Some low quality plastic elements of decoration are from seventies. Its so funny combination with true antique cellinggs and window frames.
Everyone was very charming and helpful and most of the staff spoke english well.
Location was very good. close to city centre and the train station. Staff were helpful and spoken enough english to get by. Hotel was on main street with lots of noise at night. beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was minimal. Lift was very small and hard to get in and out of.
It is nice italian style in a very old building,it is clean in the room, near the center, very comfortable parking near the hotel It was cold at night and the breakfast was poor
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The location was excellent for walking in and around the old town, and brekafast was fantastic with fresh bread and pastries.
The location of the hotel is very good. The hotel is really close to the station and to the metro, also to the main atractions of the city center. The staff are also very nice and helpfull. The bathroom didn't smell very nice. There was no frigobar and I couldn't use the wireless network at my room.
The staff was most helpful with pointing out nearby restaurants, markets, and shops that were accessible close by. Very professional staff, but friendly. Good breakfast buffet in the morning.
The Personal was very kind and they have a good breakfast The furnature inside the room was not in a goo state, and the water felt out of the duche.
the proximity to porta nuova rail station. The unjustified room rates. Breakfast was based mostly on sweets and repetitive. There was no space in front of the shower room, due to a second male toillet that you would literally have to jump over in order to get in or out.The balcony was full of building junk and not very clean. Overall, this hotel is a old fashioned building, recently renovated with a luxurios entrance and full of awards in the main hall. However, the rooms provided do not reflect that and the prices are outrageous. Moreover, the internet is very expensive, but with a limited effort, alternative wi-fi could be found.
Very nice and helpfull staff at the hote, map of turin and brochure about museums etc...for free, in general exellent
Very good service.
Staff Poor maintenance of shower
Cost bennefit is not fair. But the staff are very good. The Staff is very kindle.
Very good value for money. Don't expect 5 stars but it does well for a sleep & shower etc. Close to the city centre. It wasn't an issue for us, but we did not see any heating and cooling if that is relevant to your stay.
Nice staff, managing to speak decent English. Traditional wooden window shutters, keeping out warmth. Tranquil sphere. Five minutes from Stazione Porta Nuova. Seven minutes from tram/bus 10 to Stazione Dora for Caselle Aeroporto.
