Cons: Breakfast was continental, fix and serve yourself.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great value with a friendly & hospitable family. Lorna is very knowledgeable of the sites & gave us some good recommendations for fun & scenic things to do in Valdez. We appreciated the well thought out layout of the living quarters which made our time there very comfortable & relaxing. Everything we could possibly need was available including laundry, tea & coffee whenever we wanted it, a good breakfast selection, space in the fridge for our own food, & even an a-m-a-z-i-n-g massage chair. The B&B is about a 15 min walk to the downtown area in a very pretty & quiet area & we spotted lots of wildlife. But we love to walk so if you aren’t comfortable with that & don’t have a rental car you might want to be some place closer to downtown. However I recommend this area for those who really want to take in the beauty of Valdez.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very good location in Valdez; room with enough space and comfort, very clean and furnished with all the comfort you need for a good stay. You get a lot of informations for activities. Breakfast is self-service, there are fruits, cereals, yoghurt, hazelnutcreme, bread ... so uncomplicated to start the day. I would book again this location in the future for a stay in Valdez.

Pros: The house was lovely, beautifully decorated yet gave you a sense of comfort. The owners were very pleasant and hospitable. There was a common area where you could visit with the other guests and Beverages were available any time you wanted. The kitchen area had a kitchen and you were welcome to utilize the refrigerator with you own snacks or food. Really enjoyed staying here as it gave you a sense of hominess!
Cons: Nothing to not like.

5.7 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Having air conditioning, pictures that are updated & actually look like the place. It looked nothing like the pictures. Price for what we had was very poor
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Localization
Cons: No
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location, cleanliness
Cons: Too expensive for what one gets, the 4th Best Western on our trip and by far the worst. Breakfast was laughable... room too hot, no air circulating.. uncomfortable beds.. we had a miserable night...
7.5 Good
Pros: Loved the shower in our room, really helped us recharge. The continental breakfast was nice, hit the spot for an early morning start.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfortable room close to the harbor. Staff were very friendly and gave directions to interesting places nearby. The breakfast was good but didn't change much during our stay.
Cons: We couldn't get an extended check out which complicated things somewhat. Hotels are expensive in Alaska especially in the summer.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Great location, nice room and comfy bed
Cons: The basics of running a hotel have been forgotten here, there are much better (cheaper) places to stay in Valdez. Apparently the owner isn't there much and the staff have let everything slide........ 1. Staff - front desk staff have an 'attitude' and the energy / enthusiasm of dead ferrets. No knowledge of the local area and 'correct' guests with a sarcastic retort whenever they are challenged. Something we experienced first hand and also witnessed other guests experiencing whilst there. Truly horrific. When a guest arrives to check in, trying smiling, welcoming them, perhaps even standing up? 2. Breakfast - my goodness people! serve breakfast on proper crockery not paper plates and plastic forks. (You're supposed to love your environment!) Your coffee is horrible! On one occasion I saw guests eating cereal out of paper cups (no bowls could be found).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location and service
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Can’t go wrong with a Best Western, you know what you are getting and they did not disappoint

8.3 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location at the harbor. The bed was quite comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: The location of our room was facing an alley where people walked there dogs and had a spoiled fish odor. We had to keep our window closed. The gym was too hot to exercise. Breakfast was just ok.

4.3 Okay
Pros: Hot breakfast. Location.
Cons: Old hotel. Noisy, stale smell. Some staff was not friendly.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Room was gloomy, Beddings were old, not enough power sockets.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location was nice and convenient, within walking distance of the marina. It was mostly clean.
Cons: We overloaded the breaker by using the TV, fridge, and microwave at the same time. The fire alarm went off at 6:30am and we were told that it must have been from the toaster and they usually turn off the alarm system during that time (what!?) because it’s “too sensitive.” The lobby and hall smells of smoke because the staff allow people to smoke next to the open doors (against AK law).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, it is within walking distance of almost everything in town. Breakfast was really good with lots of options. The rooms were clean and the staff was attentive to what we needed.
4.3 Okay
Pros: The location was great, right across from the museum.
Cons: The breakfast was passable. Did not enjoy the eggs made in little pancake shapes. The orange juice machine was busted. In the room, there was no control over heat or A/C and there was no fan in the room and none available from the hotel. The vending machines were out of coke. The beds were terrible. Kept feeling like we were going to roll out of them.
Keystone Hotel - Valdez
7.4 Good (54 reviews)

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: location
Cons: Walls were paper thin. No black out curtains. Bed was slope downward. Doors did not automatically lock. No heating or cooling controls-common duct work. Hotel tried to make bed comfortable by adding bed pad.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: First impressions were not good. The rooms were small and it reminded me of a work camp. But to our surprise the room was comfortable and clean with plenty of electric plugs and excellent WiFi. Breakfast was good and location was close to all activities.
Cons: Accommodation is expensive in Alaska so Keystone Motel was the only budget Motel in town. Nothing fancy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very quiet and located in a very walkable area. We were able to walk to the Fat Mermaid for dinner which was recommended by the desk clerk and was excellent! Parking was ample at the hotel. Breakfast was good.
Cons: I liked everything.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything OK
Cons: Room a little bit small
4.5 Okay
Pros: Good location, price cheaper than other hotels in town. Nice staff.
Cons: Someone’s dirty underwear left in bathroom, hair in bathtub, bed linens cheap synthetic material, walls very thin.
4.5 Okay
Pros: location to jetty and cafe's.
Cons: rooms not serviced daily. Eating breakfast from styrofoam plates , bowls and cups. Not adequate food available at breakfast - ran out prior to my sitting. Mixed up room bookings , made us change rooms during our stay. claimed there was no rooms available for an extension of our stay , however were able to book on line and obtain rooms . staff maintained that there were no rooms available. very poor customer service.
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff were friendly and accommodating.
Cons: Room was small, bathroom had discoloration from mold. Room for 4 had 2 towels in it.
6.3 Good
Pros: Shower was hot(good) room was comfortable after 8pm
Cons: Rugs were dirty with stains in hallways and rooms
5.8 Okay
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Liked having the dogs with us in the room. Location close to the harbor was ideal for having to get to the fishing boat early in the morning. Also close to some nice hiking trails on the edge of town.
Cons: Did not like finding possible evidence of bedbugs in the room. Made clean-up of travel stuff upon returning home into an absolute nightmare. Also, we couldn't leave the doggies in the room unattended, not even to eat breakfast, and I did not like having to put them out in the truck for long periods of time. This meant I had to change some plans last minute to accommodate that.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: There was nothing to like about this location.
Cons: Too noisy. Inadequate rooms. No insulation between rooms or hallways. Not worth the money.
Tsaina Lodge - Valdez
3.7 Mediocre (1 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Valdez, Tsaina Lodge is in the mountains, a 2-minute drive from Mt. Dimond and 7 minutes from Worthington Glacier. Featured amenities include luggage storage and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
3.7 Mediocre
Pros: The food was good and the servers did a great job.
Cons: My wife and I found hair on the sheets; we were moved to another room; there was dust on horizontal surfaces, hair, trash, dirt, and a pill on the floor; the "manager" swept the room, I had to do it again; we asked for a refund or a reduction in cost and were told "No"; the "manager" vacuumed the carpeted surfaces (with an inadequate small vacuum); no tv, even though there were connections for it on the wall; VERY small room; weak Internet; no chair in the room (no room for a chair in the room); curtains too small for the slider therefore light was allowed into the room all night; loose/broken shower hook in the bathroom; guests loud in the hallway after 11 PM; two other guests were overheard discussing with the "manager" problems with their rooms as well . . . In all, this is a terrible to place to stay. I would not recommend it to anyone.
4.8 Okay
Pros: Convenient location. Quiet room.
Cons: Too expensive for very basic accommodations. Bathroom needs some repairs.
