Sea View & parking Room was too noisy, shower was broken, towels were poor quality, breakfast was poor
Excellent location near the beach. Wide room with a lot of space. A bit difficult to find. Getting a parking space was a bit of a challenge
sea view Kitchen smells in the bedroom;drab and well worn furnishings; surly staff.
The restaurant was extremely good value. The room was clean with a fair TV service. There was wi-fi. The staff were very friendly although english was not their language at all. The lift was in good order The bathroom was sad with broken bits and some black rot on the ceiling - the water pressure was low in the morning - otherwise acceptable. The impression was a 1970's Hotel up graded to fit the 2010's but arriving at the mid1980's. The price at 95Euro was, we thought high for this hotel - 55Euro would have been right however its proximity to Portofino may account for the price. The Genova boatshow was starting the night we stayed thus this was the only Hotel under 350 euros available.
location comfort in the room and breakfest
The presence of the private parking
Having the room just above the kitchen. - And as for most hotels single rooms are just too expensive
View... And price for the one night stay. Parking. The hotel is some 3 kilometres from the town. You only can drive there from the hotel, no chance to get anywhere by walk. Beaches are not very much pleasant to visit. We hardly could sleep at night as the windows seems like do not provide any protection from noise from the road.
Good location, nice view from the room.
I do not like this hotel at all. Churlish and rude personal and distasteful rooms. The beach - sorry sight.
The hotel was clean and quiet. It was situated near to the beach and view to the sea was beautiful. The women who served breakfast were very kind. We missed for some kind of hotel book because staff spoke english poorly. Breakfast did not correspond to "buffet breakfast" but was enough to us. There were too few staff in the restaurant at dinner time. Dinner was excellent but hurried atmosphere distressed.
Nice Hotel, nice rooms, very good restaurant. Hotel was indeed as offered 50 m from the beach, unfortunatelly it was 50 meters in highth, which resulted in a 700m walk to reach the beach. Tlooks like cheating the customers. However as the rest was fine, it was accepted.
The rooms were lovely and modern with air conditioning. Close to the beach, bars and restaurants. The staff were very helpful. Lovely place to stay!
They have a good restaurant.
The hotel was v ery well situated near the town centre and beach The hotel was a little out of date, and did not seem to be 4star standard
Very good location for 1 night stay during car journey fron France to Italy. We booked paid parking but were provided by groung parking on hotel territory free of charge! Frendly hotel staff on reception reccomended us good restaurant for late night dinner nearby.
The fact that it was close to the beach. The food of the restaurant was very good and the staff was friendly. We believe the services, the room and the hotel itself was not worth the money nor it's really a 4 star hotel. It needs mayor upgrading.
Location, parking, comfort of room, friendly and efficient staff.
I realy liked people who work in the hotel. They are very friendly. But only two of them speak English. The hotel is good lockated, just near the see and in two minutes wirking to the town centre. I would like to have more diferensiated breakfast with more fruits and cheese. As well in the night is impossible to order tee to the room. You have to go to the bar and take it your self.
Good location, parking ok, staff carefull. Breakfast was poor, the hotel is not a 4 star hotel really.
A great find being positioned with great sea views, wonderful gardens and a laid back resort feel. The restuarant was exceptional and their set menu was gourmet class. Wine list was very comprehensive and did not break the bank. Rooms clean and comfortable. Very quiet despite being close to the Autostrada. Family runs the hotel with pride. Can highly recommend.
We liked the breakfast outside with view on the pool. The staaf was very friendly and helpfull.
Wonderfull view, nice park arouind the hotel, pool, good parking, very good staff at front desk. Far from beach, fixed dinner menu (you have to choose from three courses)
nothing very very noisy and small room, it is not a Best Western standard
Hotel had a nice pool with a view to the sea. Beautiful garden. Great view from the room to the sea. Most of the staff were unfriendly. Only one lady at the reception desk was willing to help us and answer our questions. The hotel room was not very cosy. You need to walk abot 30 min to get to the center, and when you come back it´s quite hard to climb up to the hill. This was the most expensive hotel on our 11-day-trip and was not good value for money.
Location and friendly family staff. The rooms need new decoration
friendly staff; close to the beach price far too high for an old hotel without any comfort
walking to the albisola marina, drink capuchinno, surfing in internet, they have for free internet for guest from booking.com no
The art on the walls, the family atmosphere The building in front of it, blocking seaview for 90%
very professional staff.
Room was very nice and comfortable, generally nice atmosphere Breakfast not really good, restaurant also for other meals not really recommendable, food not good enough and much too pricy
Everyone extremely friendly, service was great. I do find the shower very small for a man my size.
Hotel was ok, but very expensive for what it was. Not really the hotel's fault, but that place is awful! If you don't need to go there, don't go there! We wondered where the 4 stars came from. Felt more like 2. Would have been ok for €80. For €120 I would not stay again.
Excellent room, very comfortable bed. We were on the 4th floor and had a balcony with a sea view. Very friendly family run hotel with an excellent, if not a little pricey restaurant. Very enjoyable evening meal. One reason we booked this hotel was because they provided a wi-fi connection. Unfortunately we were unable to get an adequate connection. We were offered the use of the computer in the lobby, however this was not functioning when we needed to use it.
Breakfast, very nice room and view I asked before if the swimming pool was open and they aswered yes. However, one man in the reception said we could not go swimming at all. (Other man at the reception said it was ok, but that day it was already too late for it)
Good location - helpful staff Parking is a nightmare - the garage is always full and very hard to drive around if you have anything more than a compact car. Make sure you wake up early for breakfast, or selection will be poor
I stayed a single nigth but it was really good. It is very close to the beach, the staff was friendly and the breakfst was good...
The location is good and it is 2 min walk to the city downtown. It has its own garage but for the extra payment. The room was clean and comfortable, but the breakfast can improve. Breakfast was disappointing.
A very nice staff and the location is excellent, even though we had a room overlooking the street (not the beach). First of all, this hotel had its glory days some 40-50 years ago. Its not a 4-star hotel, rather a 2-star. Its quite funny how the staff tries to live up to the past glory, but cannot fool the years that have past. Even though, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Beware of their prices, a 35€ commission is taken to use the hotels beach facilities! That is on top of the price of the room. Also, food served is very poor, take a short walk to the citys centre instead.
A real Italian experience
Sea view, although one have to climb up to the hill to reach the hotel During breakfast there was very limited choice of food
View from our room, breakfast is good.
Good location Old blankets
The courtesy and friendliness of the receptionist was exceptional A little noisy as the room was over the hotel smoking area
hotel position access to motorway, train services, parking, quiet position in town, good language skills of receptionists and there knowledge of the area.a good basic 3 star italian hotel.
Good parking facilities at front of hotel. Secure. The hotel looked better from the outside than it actually was inside. It required considerable renovation to stairwells and corridors and some public areas. The rooms were clean but very basic. Some very old fixtures and fittings needed replacing (eg bedside lamps, bathroom fittings etc.
location to beach, friendliness of staff, cleanliness of room, simple but comfortable the fact that at first they wanted me to pay for using the airco. parking at the hotel is limited
Close to beach Noisy
good and friendly hotel staff; enough space to park the car in front of the hotel; early breakfast the matras of the pilebed was bad and to short (180cm)
A good family hotel, the pool was particularly nice for the kids as the beaches were rather overcrowded. The building wirk opposite was a bit noisy as were the trains from the station. But it was in a convenient position in the town.
staff was very helpfull and understanding with my family of 5 hard to find
Pleasant manner of staff. Decor and fittings rather dated and have seen better days, in need of refurbishment throughout. Lists of do's and don'ts can and can't do all over. Eg, cant eat or drink in room, (restaraunt not open evening during our visit) cant use pool at certain times, not a picnic area etc.
Lovely hotel with friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and a very nice pool area. I had to cut my trip short and hotel staff were most understanding and helpful in this matter. Excellent location near central station and very close to town and beach. A/C was a bit noisy off and on, but worked well.
Room was fine but no restaurant and water in shower was cold at all times due to plumbing problem. No discount was even offered for the inconvenience.
Nice staff, good breakfasts Bathrooms very cramped - they really should not have bidets.
Not much really. If something, the LCD TV and the Internet point in the lobby. Rooms are very small with old furniture. Similar to rooms of 1-star hotels. Location is shady - just next to the railroad and a good 7-8 min walk to the city and the beach. Staff handles breakfast and reception at the same time. Parking is 50 m away and costs 5 Euro. If you truly have to be in Varazze, please consider another option.
The staff and the big dog.
We had problerms upon arrival , since the hotel did not offer asssitance with the lugagees, and there are big, lengh stairs to reach the lobby, and my parents are seniors above 80 yrs. The receptionist could have beign more friendly, flexible and ehlped in some way...
Nice, quiet and pleasent atmosphare
