perfect location, size of the rooms, style of hotel
small room for breakfast, noisy in the rooms
Excellent position; room was big, comfortable and very clean.
The night staff wasn't particularly nice, but the lady in the morning was charming, as well as the cleaning ladies.
The rooms were large and spacious, old-fashioned in a nice way, but with fully modernised bath facilities etc. Very quiet at night. Excellent breakfast.
The breakfast room is very small and cramped, but functions reasonably well (and the breakfast is excellent). A proper double bed would have been preferable to two singles pushed together (perhaps some rooms have this, but mine didn't).
The staff serving breakfast were very friendly and pleasant. The rooms were very nice and clean and good sized. The breakfast wasn't the best I have ever had, but it was adequate, and free, so no complaints. The comments of other guests regarding the size of the breakfast room are correct, but we just went down there before 8 and there was plenty of room. There is also a lovely sitting area near the front desk that I think you could sit in and eat.
One gentleman at the front desk was not helpful when we asked if he could recommend any restaurants. He told us to go out and look around for ourselves! When we returned, he asked us where we had gone. He then said, oh he really liked the steaks at that restaurant! Why couldn't he have mentioned that in the first place vs. telling us to just walk around and look for ourselves. Another gentleman at the front desk did recommend a restaurant and places to go, and was very helpful, tho. It didn't affect our stay, it was just a contrast to so many of the hotels we have stayed at where the front desk staff bend over backwards to assist you.
Horrible matrass. I have never experienced anything like this matrass. It was almost as hard as the floor! Never will go back there anymore!
