It was everything I hoped for and more. What a nice place and good service. I can't wait to stay there again. This is what France is or should be all about.
Absolutely beautiful accommodation, room facilities and grounds were more than we were expecting, as was the friendliness of our host and their hospitality. Location was only a few minutes out of town, which was perfect as you need a car to get anywhere around Beaujolais anyway.
After arriving we realised our room didn't have air conditioning - our mistake not looking closely at the room description. We managed without but others may find this to be an issue.
The property is absolutely gorgeous, and the decor and natural light in our room added to the ambiance. The views from the rooms are spectacular. The staff are kind and attentive, but not overbearing. We would absolutely stay again!
There is no air conditioning, and a fan was not available. This was tough for our summer stay, though it does cool down quite a bit at night.
Chateau de Bellevue is one of the most memorable places I've ever stayed in. I was lucky enough to be the only person staying at the Chateau for the evening I was there, so Anna very kindly upgraded my room for no extra charge. She was kind enough to show me all of the areas for winemaking including the cellar, and she explained the various methods they use to produce both light or more structured variations of Beaujolais. My room was fantastic with a really comfortable bed, loads of space and a large bathroom. There was a lovely balcony with a great view of the garden and the countryside beyond. I highly recommend walking around the huge garden to see the magnificent view towards the Alps. Most of the famous Beaujolais villages are a 10/15 minute drive away (e.g. Fleurie, Regnie, Beaujeu etc). You can find restaurants in the nearby villages, I visited one in Thoissey next to the river Saone. The continental breakfast at the Chateau was also very good. Overall it was a great experience.
Set in a 19th-Century château in the heart of Villié-Morgon in South Burgundy, Château de Bellevue offers a large garden, terrace and Beaujolais Vineyard. Lyon is a 45-minute drive away. Decorated elegantly, all rooms feature views of the garden and a wardrobe. They are complete with an en suite bathroom. A continental breakfast is available every morning from 08:30 to 10:00. Guests can also sample the wine produced on site, upon request. Mâcon is a 25-minute drive from the property and Golf Club du Beaujolais is 39 km away. Free Wi-Fi access is available throughout the château and free private parking is possible on site.
