Very comfortable bed. Good food and drink. Superb location.
Very nice hotel right on the lake and close to the boat landing stage and next to the rigi mountain railway. Rooms very clean and comfortable, buffet breakfast excellent.
Hotel room has nostargic feel to it. Terrace overlooking the lake was really nice although the weather was not nice during my stay. Breakfast is from 8;00 but they made it from 7:30 for me. Thank you.
The hotel is quiet and personal. A very 'Swiss' experience. The owners (Mr & Mrs Scherrer) put heart and soul into running the place. Mrs S is a fountain of knowledge and can help with everything from tickets and excursion ideas to getting you another towel! Mr S is very knowledgeable about wines and a real gent - the epitome of the Swiss hotelier. This hotel is a gem in the making - support it and it will go from strength to strength.
The name! It so doesn't suit the hotel building (historic and traditional) and the ethos of the Scherrers who own and run it. They take their hotel standards very seriously and the word Hobby just doesn't do it for me - advice to the reader: Ignore the word hobby and go. Advice to the Scherrers: re-brand as soon as is convenient! ; )
Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is environment friendly - limited hot water in evenings, reuse of towels. Wonderful breakfast buffet with fresh fruit, yogurt, assorted breads, granolas, sausage ,cheese, teas and great coffee all served in a waterfront dining room with an awesome view. One interesting note - the nearby church rouses the neighbors at 6 am with an enthusiastic ringing of bells!
Lack of an alarm clock was annoying! The hotel should let guests know in advance that there will be limited hot water available.
