Pros: Breakfast is the best I ever had. People are very friendly and helpful. Silence is golden and birds calming. I am Definitely going again.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Absolute stunning little wine farm! Best wine tasting ever! The chalets are beautiful and the surrounding is peaceful and nature pure. My daughter enjoyed the pets on the farm and we got a private view into the wine cellar. The owners went out of there way to accommodate us. Very friendly, lovely people and we will come back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Variety and quality of breakfast was very good. The pool was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts. The location. The dogs and the cats. The excellent wines - products of René and his team's hard labour. The jacaranda in blossom. Our lazy afternoons after a braai on the patio. The sun setting on the wines before a braai on the patio. Watching the yellow weaver bird building its nest. Laughing at the Tarentaal on the poles in the evening...
Cons: ...trying very hard to think about something so there is availability when we return, but no.... nothing we didn't like.
6.3 Good
Pros: Very nice furnishings inside and comfortable. Surprised by a free bottle of very nice wine and congratulations on my wife's birthday.
Cons: Outside the building needs painting. The braai area is very far from room. Very strong Sulphur smell in the bathroom water.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, peaceful location in the heart of the winelands. Only 5-10 mins drive from a number of world-class vineyard, as well as the town of Wellington.
Cons: Hot water was controlled by solar power, due to the foggy mornings, we had luke-warm showers. However, the bathroom facilities were excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place to stay. Very peaceful and relaxing with great views of vines and mountains. Very nice hosts and we enjoyed meeting the cats and dogs.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Easy-going and lovely place run with a lot of charm by Birgit and Rene. So welcoming. Breakfast on the terrace under the Jacaranda trees is a delight. The cottages are very spacious and spotlessly clean. Wonderful!
Cons: Absolutely nothing. The place is perfect.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hosts Birgit and Rene. We enjoyed our very spacious cottage, even though we didn't make use the second floor room. Secure parking in front of the cottage. Although we stayed there at the most busy season of a wine farm in the year, Birgit had still some time left for giving us a wine tasting of their very good wines. We made use of the tidy pool area and as well as of the large barbecue facilities near the main house, when we met a newlywed german couple with whom we shared a spontaneous braai and a very nice afternoon.
Cons: No possibility of having breakfast on a rainy day inside the cottage at the ground floor in lacking of a table and seats caused of the limited space in the kitchen area - but this might be complaining on a very high level ;-)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was among the very best we ever had. Many times you read : "Dear valued guests", but here the owners Birgit and René made us feel like true valued guests. There was an extra room upstairs with a well-working air-co, a sofa, table etc. (also nice to get the luggage out of sight). Nice large swimming pool with comfortable deck chairs. For those who like animals: Several cats and two dogs, never getting on your nerves, loved to be caressed though never begging for it, only if you choose to do so!

Pros: Wellington's best country boutique hotel with beauty, privacy and tranquility set amongst a recently renovated Dutch Colonial manor house with classical French interiors on the Doolhof wine estate. A beautiful, lush vineyard offering Wellington's finest varietals and daily tastings. Grand Dedale's restaurant and chef Wesley offer daily breakfast, lunch, and formal dinners, and everything in between. Unlimited soft drinks, light wines, and beer, gin, tonic. Pool, with towels and lounge seating.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely comfortable rooms and helpful friendly staff. Excellent restaurant on site to spend an afternoon looking at the view.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved our stay here and were very sad that it was only for one night - we will definitely return for longer next time. We had the Vine Honeymoon Cottage which was so lovely decorated with a bonus of an outside jacuzzi which was so relaxing after a long haul flight. Free wine tasting is provided 6-7 pm which was a great touch to watch the sun go down in such a tranquil location and the honesty bar is brilliant with excellent prices and selection (beer is available too). We ate at their restaurant the Stone Kitchen and really enjoyed our food - the gourmet burgers really are delicious and i would highly recommend them. The walk down there is nice as you see their horses and get up close to the vines.
Cons: Small complaint is the price charged for bottled water in the room - the same one is 8 ZAR in the local shops and they charge almost 3 times this so while for UK guest this is still not too expensive out of the 5 places we stayed over 2 weeks this was the only place that charged so much for water and in fact in most other places of a similar standard it was complimentary.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location on lovely premises, the view from the infinity pool beautiful. Service was superb, both in the guest house and in the restaurant. Very comfortable and lovingly furnished units facing a wonderful herb garden. The finishing touches: Coffee and tea with cake and the wine hour with snacks - all in the house! Thanks, we’ll come again.
Cons: Nothing to criticize, sorry.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in an idyllic one bed cottage ( Acorn)with its own plunge pool ( gorgeously cold) & natural shaded area. WiFi & large screen Tv worked well. Very discreet daily cleaning. Next to the Manor House & winery. We were able to use the 10m Manor House pool at our convenience .Lots of wild life to enjoy including horses, pigs & geese. Extremely personal service including bringing lovely summer lunch salads to our cottage. Obvious that Abbi , the owner cares a lot about delivering great guest experience.
Cons: Meals were simple & hearty , limited to a couple of menu du jour choices.learnt that we could have breakfast inclusive by contacting the property. There appeared to be only self catering option via booking.com .Very small gripe as experience was fab

Overview Reviews
Located in Cape Winelands, Diemersfontein Wine and Country Estate is within a 10-minute drive of Nederburg Wines and Rhebokskloof Estate. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good and the staff at breakfast were excellent.
Cons: Rooms only ready after 4 when promised for 2. Had wine tasting and snacks which closed at 4.30. After that not a single thing was available to eat. Not even a bottle of water. Restuarant was closed but we didnt know. There were lots of other families whose rooms werent ready. Some had babies and children. Our room had dust and spiders on window cills. Our hand shower was so old and in desperate need of replacement. Everyone always told us what a special place this was but we were truly disappointed.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Beautiful location and scenery
Cons: Supervising staff treating people of color as criminals. The bedroom was not the one I booked based on the picture I saw on the website
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Diemersfontein is exquisite. It has all the attributes of a wine farm, beautiful location, ample grounds and a lovely pool. We stayed in the Manor House, which is most gracious, comfortably and elegantly appointed. The ‘stoep’ (verandah) is huge and it is where we dined and had our breakfast. The main restaurant was being refurbished. The wine tasting was lovely and informal. You can have a platter of snacks with it or not. I would love to return.
Cons: Main restaurant closed - a pity -
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place with very kind and attentive staff. We had a wonderful time and felt very welcome. I would recommend that a bottle of water is made available in the rooms.
7.5 Good
Pros: Really lovely old manor house accommodation.
Cons: No shower but not really a problem. The reception staff were clueless, not trained and could not answer any questions. If there is a new person management must not leave her on her own ! Staff in the restuarant was at best ok but service and food were very average - nothing special.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The facilities and location are beautiful
Cons: The staff are totally incompetent. They didn’t have my booking and even after sending the Booking.com email confirmation to them twice, they still couldn’t find my booking. The response we received to every request we made to them was that there are no staff to assist at 5pm on a Saturday - they have all gone home already including; - Showing us to our room, - Taking our bags to the room and - Replacing down pillows, as my husband has an allergy to feathers. Extremely disappointing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was lovely, our only disappointment would be the breakfast and also the tin plates and cups..
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The farm itself is really beautiful and we especially enjoyed the old farmhouse decor with its huge patio where we had a lovely breakfast overlooking the mountains, vineyards and squirrels playing amongst the majestic trees. The walls boast some great impressionistic art to add to the building's old world charm.
Cons: There were dusty cobwebs in the room corners and the kettle cord did not reach the plug, so we had to duck underneath the dresser to plug it in. The beds looked like they had been prepared in haste with one scatter cushion wrong way round.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Room was clean and the room had nice white bedding.
Cons: Room wasn’t ready on arrive at check in time of 2pm, we had to bath in another room in a rush and take all our clothes with us, to be in time for a wedding in the area. When we checked if our room was ready at 3:30pm, it still wasn’t. Ducks were very noisy next to our room, so I never slept the night when we got home from the wedding at 1:30am. I checked out at past 9am, my husband stayed for the breakfast and only got his breakfast after an hour wait. The breakfast was very basic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service was excellent! Best wines in the world. Everyone who enjoys a good meal paired with great wine and tremendous service, must go!

2.5 Mediocre
Cons: Despite confirmation that our booking was confirmed on booking. Com the resort did a double booking because they couldn't reach us on the date of arrival for confirmation. The effort put into find out whether we will be arriving was a single telephone call and when they did not get answer they made no other effort, whether by mail, WhatsApp or sms to get clarification. An appalling effort in client service
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We thoroughly enjoy our mini vacations to Val du Charron and will keep coming back for more! The food, the wine, the staff, the location, everything is amazing, would definitely recommend it.
