Very welcoming reception and evening meal. Breakfast very poor, with long wait.
The evening meal on our first evening was excellent. The food was well prepared and cooked. Service excellent Dreadful breakfast service on the first morning but much better on our second morning No bath towels in the room
Excellent Staff and evening meal of a good standard. Bed Linen very good. Room a little tired and requires some re-decoration.
Very pleasant polite staff. Nice and quiet despite being near main road. Nice view across fields of Bamburgh Castle. Room was clean.
Good food, good service, very good staff, comfortable rooms
Wifi coverage poor.
The lodge was a very pleasant surprise, the rooms were very clean and spacious even with 3 beds. The restaurant food was excellent and we will definitely return
Clean rooms ,comfortable bed, suffiant toiletries/coffee tea etc, pleasent staff None
Friendly staff, nice room and good food Maybe the roadway and parking
It was quiet even though it is on a main road Bathroom could have been cleaner . a small fridge would be very useful
Lovely accommodation and food within a comfortable and attractive surrounding.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly They did not serve green tea at breakfast
Fabtastic service and helpful staff - wonderful food and great scenery. Not many, and only minor.
comfort and helpfulness of the staff
Beautiful setting, very friendly and helpful staff excellent breakfast
An elegant building in beautiful well-tended grounds. The imaginative dinner cuisine was matched by an excellent breakfast, with friendly and attentive service.
we found the hotel to be very relaxing - just what we needed.
Room was a little tight and the bathroom also The floor boards in the room above creaked all the time and been woken at 5.30am was not what we wanted on a restful break.
The breakfast. Room was very dark - little natural light.
The staff were very nice The room was also lovely with a view of the castle from the bedroom window. Breakfast - I opted for full breakfast and my adult son opted for continental the breakfast he received was huge with freshly sliced ham, cheese and croisants. We are non smokers so did not like the smoke in the bar.
The bedroom was light and airy with 2 different fantastic views, and the bed was extremely comfortable, giving a very good night's sleep.
The service was very good for the price. No.
parking facility dining room in use was not very cosy; kitchen was not so good
Great location overlooking Warkworth castle and the lovely village. This was a return visit to this hotel for us! There's nothing to dislike. If pushed for a comment, it might benefit with some updating of decor, but that's all - it's an old hotel!
The location, views, the castle in front of you, very interesting vilage & shops, great for walks, River & Coast. We loved it and will go again. Could add a small lounge for residents with TV.
Very comfortable and excellent people - Highly recommended
The breakfast - excellent the mouldly dirty room - the tiny bath - no room service - no food available in place of room service - small bed - placed in the highest part of the building with two other guests. No one else was staying there? £170 nfor two nights in a sub standard hotel etc etc
Very friendly and helpful staff, quiet rooms, good parking bedroom lighting could be improved
Very nice hotel in beautiful location. Very friendly staff. Could do with some updating of the decor. Breakfast good, however, main meals could be improved.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had our 1 year old daughter with us and they did everything possible to accommodate.
Doxford Hall Hotel was excellent in all respects. The decor of the hotel was very tastefully designed, very much in character with the building and to a very high standard. Staff were all very helpful and pleasant. Restaurant was high-side price but worth it as the food was superbly cooked and presented. All hotel facilities were excellent. None !!
Very welcoming staff, beautiful and spacious room, excellent facilities. Hotel needs to get its act together when heavy snow falls. It is in an isolated position and road access is difficult. It doesn't help though when even the access drive and car park are not cleared of snow. Full marks though to the 2 ladies on duty when I left who called in a local farmer with a tractor!
The food, the service and the quietness of the hotel. There wasa nothing that i did not like.
Quality hotel. Very helpful staff. Large bedroom and bathroom. A bit short staffed at breakfast time, the 2 waitresses were rushed off their feet. Possibly due to the fact it was the Easter weekend.
Accomodation excellent, food good Restaurant staff were slightly less friendly - a little off hand.
Bath and bed - fantastic Room was a great size with a lovely view the garden will be super in the summer beautifully restored building Fixed menu was expensive and there were no other options to choose from
Recently renovated. Owner takes a personal interest. Super chef and meal worth the money for a special occasion. Wine reasonable. Dinner menu not publicised as well as the room service menu.
The room was very large and spacious although pillows could have been more comfortable, staff were excellent. There was no vegetarian option on the menu for the restaurant until we asked if there was one available. We then decided to eat in the bar area and when we asked for nibbles like the other guests were told by the waiter "the nibbles are for restaurant guests only" - We were actually stunned!
I found Doxford hall to be one of the best hotels i have ever stayed in pure luxury, friendly staff and beautiful surroundings
From entering the hotel we felt relaxed and made to feel very welcome. nothing was too much trouble for Michelle our host. Our room was spotless with comfortable leather sofa. water, wine and fresh milk in the fridge was also a lovely touch. Well placed for visiting the local area a superb relaxin stay.
Great welcome, Super service and lovely room - breakfast was marvellous! Paul and Michelle are a great couple and really looked after us. We wished we could have stayed longer! Just a minor point but the TV was a little small for size of room and viewing from the Bed was not easy.
A very high standard of accommodation - and very helpful service. A very exceptional B&B
Facilities and the Quiet location.
An excellent place, well worthy of its 5-star rating
Whole experience excellent None
Very high standard of accommodation spaciouus had character lovely garden extremely restful all requests promptyly met very welcoming host great breakfast Might be regarded by some as a bit far from other facilities
Quiet, luxurious, very friendly and helpful staff and fabulous breakfast No
The hotel was in a superb setting with excellent views. The proprietor was very welcoming and friendly. The rooms were beautifully presented and the standard of accomodation overall was faultless. None
Very comfy bed.Really good full English breakfast.Pleasant staff. Old style tv in our room did not work & our room was much smaller than our frinds room & their flat screen tv worked.
Nice, clean comfortable room. En- suite a little on the small side.
Friendly welcome. Indian Restaurant within hotel good. Bed clean and comfortable. Confusing arrangement at entrance with apparent check-in desk being used by Indian Restaurant rather than hotel. No shower - I am sure it was advertised with shower. Kettle had tea stain on outside also tray with cups needing cleaned. Not enough tables in the Breakfast Room - had to take breakfast plus drinks cutlery etc through hotel to Indian Restaurant. Breakfast felt like a bit of a free-for-all but food good.
Very friendly staff, good bar prices(cheapest in the village) and the Indian restaurant was superb! Could have been better aknowledged by breakfast service staff.
Bed large & comfortable Bathroom very very outdated. No shower or any means of washing hair other than directly under tap. Room noisey, doors banging until early morning then pigeons on bathroom window cill starting cooing at 6am. A bit of wire netting to windows would prevent them roosting. Car park needs attention.
