The worst hotel I have EVER seen. The hotel itself needed repairs. The roof was missing shingles. The room smelled BAD. We got a non-smoking room and it still smelled of smoke and worse. There were dead roaches in the bathroom, giant centipedes in the toilet. The train track is directly behind the hotel. Mold all over the bath tub. Awful hotel. We left immediately.
The Internet did not work. The staff was unpleasant. Then the train went right by the hotel several times during the night. The only positive thing from my stay was the shower had plenty if hot water.
The room was clean (and believe me, I looked) & smelled fresh. There was a variety of pillows on the queen sized bed so we could use which kind made us most comfy. Bathroom was nice & roomy, clean, & the towels were soft, fluffy & smelled good. The room had chairs & a table for relaxing, the refrigerator chilled nicely, the air conditioner had the room good & cool in no time. Check in & out was easy, the gentleman behind the counter was pleasant. We were out early in the morning so didn't stay for breakfast or get to use the pool, but we could see that the pool looked clean. It's an older motel but it was good value for what we needed & I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. It's centrally located, literally across the road from the Yankee Candle factory, close to everything!
The room was clean and equipped with the usual amenities, even a microwave and refrig. - excellent for the price. One of the room walls was brick - a nice touch. Good hot water and heat. The location is very good, and while you often need to drive a block west and turn around to get into the historic area, it's easy to do. We appreciated that the room was quiet. We heard a train a couple of times, but it was no imposition, and we kind of liked that old-time element. Plenty of eateries are nearby. We are not sure if there is internet service, as we had no need to use it. The manager is very warm and kind! It was a pleasure chatting with him. We were so sorry we had to leave Williamsburg when we did. If we could have stayed longer, we would have stayed here. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.
Very cheap, quiet, accomidating, good location and clean.
stayed for continintal breakfast but that was a joke. You get what you pay for.
The hotel wasn't anything great to look at, but it was clean and comfortable. The fridge was useful to me, and the wireless internet was great, so long as I stayed near the window. Don't be too put off by the other reviews; while this wasn't a four star hotel, it was just fine for the price it was at.
the roms are so so. the continental breakfast sucked , there was cereal milk and bread to make a pbj. outdated. pool was dirty.
My sister and I stayed at this hotel in July 2008. Quite a surprise to me, room clean, refrigerator clean, microwave clean, bathroom clean; that's right--you see I usually stay at 3 to 5-star hotels. Management was very friendly. There is a train that runs so many times a day but that did not bother us. We were on a short trip just to relax & shop. I would definitely stay here again.
the room smelled musty & the bathroom looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks... the cleaning made the bed... but didn't clean anything... plain filthy
Wife & I had just attended a graduation in the western part of Virginia and decided to take a few days off from the highway and stop and visit Williamsburg/Jamestown/Yorktown, etc. We picked this hotel because it offered a microwave and refrigerator in room, offered a continental breakfast and was priced right. We stayed in a basic room, nothing fancy (Bed, Cable TV, Dresser Drawers, Table with Two Chairs & Bathroom. First of all, the room was basically small in size but extremely clean. It had a good shower (also spotless) with a strong hot water flow. Secondly, I'm always very critical of the firmness of any strange bedding since both my wife and I have bad backs. The bed was excellent. Thirdly, the Continental Breaksfast was very adequate for our tastes. There was fresh fruit available daily along with waffles (a waffle machine was present to make waffles), cereal, toast, coffee, & juice. Lastly, the location of the hotel was a short drive to the center of Williamsburg, surrounded by restraurants and shopping areas. In closing, if you are looking for a basic hotel experience without the expense for you and your wife, I would recommend this hotel.
