Hertz booked a reservation for a car they didn't have available that day. Frustrating.

Easy check in. Nice car. Some companies try to get rid of an old vehicle or one with problems on a 1-way rental. That was not an issue with this vehicle. I have done a fair amount of traveling using rental cars and this went very smoothly.

I reserved a car for Saturday July 18, 2021 for 12 noon. I was told to pick-up at Newport News airport. When I arrived at 11:30am, the Hertz was no longer there. I was directed to another, but by the time I got there at 12:07pm, it had closed at 12 noon. I was never alerted that they closed at 12 noon. And furthermore, why would you book someone a car at closing. I booked a room at the Hilton in D.C. for $169 which I could not get a refund for, never got a rental car cause hertz is closed on Sunday. Which my room was for Saturday anyway. Hertz did refund my $359, but I never received the $55 for the insurance on the rental. Thanks Hertz... I flew my wife from Louisiana to Virginia to have a romantic Father's Day in D.C., only to lose money and be stuck in Virginia. Terrible Service. Never Again. About $230 waisted due to poor communication and service. My wife could've stayed home for that, not to mention the flight amongst other things. 😤😡🤬

Drop-off was easy and pleasantVehicle was not ready for pickup, customer service was awful, and ended up in a vehicle smaller than I'd reserved/ paid for. In addition, vehicle had minor service issues and needed attention

Pickup and dropoff were easy. Vehicle was relatively clean and handled very well.Staff was not empathetic to the tire problem we had during the trip. One tire was flat repeatedly and had we not taken precautions of our own it would have caused serious problems and inconvenience. Windshield washer fluid was very low, and coolant level was low. Along with the tire problem we experienced this does not inspire confidence in the mechanical maintenance that Hertz provides.

Staff is good and my Malibu was good for our purposes.They could have explained a few things about the car. I struggled to learn how some things worked.

All though I was told the vehicle I needed was not available and I reserved a smaller car, the customer service clerk at the Hertz in Williamsburg VA continued to search and ultimately got me the vehicle I needed.I made at least 20 attempt to contact Hertz in BWI to modify my rental, no one would answer the phone. This was in spite of claiming a 24 hour service.

N/AI had made a reservation for my in-laws one month in advance, and upon arrival they spent two hours at this location as they were informed their car was not available. I had placed a reservation for a small SUV (Nissan Rogue size) as this was for a drive to Florida, and the only car offered to them was a pick-up truck. They then negotiated on a large Tahoe (very gas inefficient for a long drive). When they asked to speak with a manager, the woman at the front desk told them they would need to call themselves. Terrible customer service and very unorganized, will not be returning to this rental location.
